winter has come - Nemesis - January 15, 2017

The pack will be moving collectively into Mephala's Web for the foreseeable future (due to the mini BWP). It is optional to partake in this thread but the moving is mandatory. No rounds; post whenever.

The crack of thunder pulled her from slumber She had been expecting a difficult winter, but this was unlike she had imagined. It was as if hell had frozen over, finally, and this was the outcome and sure to lay waste to whatever plant growth had survived thus far. It was sure to mean increased carcases of prey that could not withstand the frigid temperatures, available to scavenge off of. But also came with it, the threat of children that would not survive either. Nemesis could not celebrate the thought od impending doom among the children of Blackfeather Woods, for her own too were not yet strong enough to face the winter alone. Breaking from the cocoon of shared warmth within her own den, she stepped outside as the sky shook once more, hailing upon her the millions upon millions of white flurries and in seconds was her coat frozen over in contrast of what lay beneath. On their own, they would freeze to death. She flung her head back, calling upon her pack as she roused her family and led them into the Web where they would stay untouched by the cold. She did not doubt that some would be hesitant to share a home with her for the remainder of the winter, she did not care who was too idiotic to refuse. Within the mass of tunnels and alcoves did she settle down once more, pulling her children to her side in anticipation of the waiting hoard. Releasing yet another howl echoing through the caverns, she signalled her position, deep underneath mountains of snow and ice.

RE: winter has come - Nocturnal - January 17, 2017

It was too cold for Astrid's liking. She was no potato anymore, and could not comfortably cuddle against her three brothers anymore, but damn had she wished to be a potato. Not even the warmth of her cold-hearted mother took away the chilling breeze that found its way through everyone and everything. The snow had been fine, with the mild cold she could cope with - but this was just ridiculous! Confused did she look up when mother went outside, finally proclaiming her as mad before she was almost forced to come with. Where they were going, she had no clue - until they came upon one of the many openings to the underlying tunnels that she had sort of learned to navigate.

She understood now, and gladly followed to the warmer - almost breeze-free area of their territory. She hoped mother had not noticed her scars by now, but knew the question as to who did it to her would come sooner or later - she predicted. Damien, she ignored, not wanting to deal with him at the moment now that her life had been thrown around and she was having a mid-life crisis at the age of a few months.

RE: winter has come - Cicero - January 17, 2017

let me know if the pp isn't ok Alisha, i assumed he helped move the pups!

Sheogorath had done some work to regain his sister's trust after what Cicero — and he, of course — had done. He had brought @Potema things such as food but had not managed to get her alone for a talk so that he could really lay the groundwork for a better relationship. It would do him no good if she were to tell others of what he had done to Xan, and he would do what he could to limit the damage.

So today when Nemesis called for the pups to be moved, he helped his sister move them to their new location. As he carried one or two of them along, Sheogorath thought of how the situation was going to be — uncomfortable at best, violent and bloody at worst — once they would settle there. He knew these lands well and so Sheogorath navigated to Nemesis' position with ease.

Once arrived, he put down the pups he had carried and looked at Nemesis, then Astrid, whom he shot a grin, remembering their last conversation.

RE: winter has come - Snake - January 17, 2017

The icy chill of winter brushed against his coat with long, bony fingers in an attempt to perhaps send a prickling sensation to ripple down his spine. But he had no warmth to share, his body already colder than any weather, and so the sudden fall of winter hardly affected him. While it held a tight grip across the land, chasing away the prey and even some predators alike, it failed to grasp him in its frigid hold.

A peculiar sound suddenly struck his ears, puncturing through tactile silence. It caught Snake's attention immediately, causing him to abandon his walk and instantly swivel upon his very paws, his wiry body twisting abnormally as he swiftly made his way toward the direction of the call. With greatest haste, long forelimbs swiftly scraped the ice-crusted earth to escape the shadows of frosted timber only to be devoured by the tunnel's gaping maw. Pressing deep into the labyrinth's bowels, green eyes sweeped left and right, and the obsidian pelted devil couldn't hold back the twisted grin that curled over his maw. Black tongue was silent however, not a single word uttered from inky lips.

RE: winter has come - Vandal - January 17, 2017

He hadn't been far when Nemesis' howl rang out through the territory, the young Tyro having been keeping himself roaming about the place at a poor attempt to stay warm. At least warmer than he was just sitting around that is, but his efforts were in vain. He'd experienced winters before, but nothing could have prepared him for this as thunder cracked above and the brisk air around them only seemed to grow colder. Vandal shuddered as his white, numb paws guided him in the direction of the Mephala's web, his bright sapphire eyes watching as others also heeded the Dark Master's summons.

Once within the warmth of the tunnels, Van's ears listened carefully as Nemesis gave out her location, her howl echoing through the dark system of tunnels that were concealed underground. Silently, Vandal pressed onwards through the dark, till his bright blue eyes fell upon many unknown faces as he quietly gazed around the room. Shifting himself amongst those already gathered, Vandal carefully and silently stood to one side. Observing, waiting.

RE: winter has come - Potema - January 17, 2017

With each day, Potema tucked her body further and further around her four pups, moving away from the mouth of the den, desperately seeking some kind of release from the cold outside. Nemesis' call came at the best time, with the witch close to seeking its shelther. None of the Daedric Princes she knew had any control over the weather. She could pray for little release from them, only shuddering with fear as lightning crackled ahead. Thunderstorms were the ideal time to summon Sheogorath, she noted. The irony was not grasped by her as her brother Cicero came to collect the pups and move them into the warmth of the Web.

Potema wanted to hide the fear on her face as best she could from Nemesis and the unfamiliar male faces, her mouth grasped around @Ganondorf, her littlest, whom she knew could barely survive a normal winter, let alone this. She moved swiftly to collect the rest of them, tucking @Vaati, @Koume and @Kotake around their youngest brother, despite the little puppy battles they all had with one another. She looked up to Nemesis, her voice ringing softly. Have we secured any food from the caches?

RE: winter has come - Miraak - January 17, 2017

He had lived a long life, but never before had he seen something such as this. Thunder and snow. What a strange combination of weather, and yet here it was. Ice and snow were blown against the trees, sheathing it in frost. A few seconds out in the snow and he already felt the weight of the cold weighing his old bones down, but he pressed on. There were but a few caches in the Web, but there were a few prize cuts he excavated quickly before seeking the comfort of the Web. The old shade felt his body burn with stress as he pulled the frozen beaver into the Web, but its presence would supply the pack for a few days.

RE: winter has come - Ganondorf - January 18, 2017

His first journey outside the den was not something Ganondorf had enjoyed. The weather had taken a turn for the worst and the small boy often pressed against his mother and even siblings for the warmth he could not provide himself. When the pale fur he had been snuggling against suddenly shifted and let in a cold burst of air, the boy was quick to scoot closer to one of his sisters before he was grasped and carried away. His tail curled between his legs while he shut his eyes, the harsh winter air and snow making it difficult to see.

As he was carried further into the web and the wind wasn't such a bother, the boy opened his eyes to take in the sight of his temporary home. He instantly let out cries for his mother once she had gone to collect his siblings but settled quickly once she had returned. So many new scents and faces caught his attention and Ganon spent his first minutes in the web simply staring everyone down. He was either going to love or hate this change and he wondered which outcome awaited him.

RE: winter has come - Koume - January 18, 2017

Yes, the cold was threatening - even for a bigger potato like her, but with her family; she knew she had nothing to fear. Especially her sister, who looked so much like her, she kept close whenever she could. Her littlest brother, she tried to keep away - he was to snuggly and rough for her. Except for him, everything was perfect - even with the screaming winds that wanted to claim their young lives.

But all of that changed when mother left with her tiniest brother. She left them alone, to be with him? Were they not good enough? What did he have that they did not? Perhaps, as she grew older, she would understand why mother took the tiniest one in first - but for now, it was just rude. She came back though, and Koume did not fight that she was picked up and brought someplace else. Finally in the warmer Web, the spiderling looked around - she did not stay in the pile their mother had made with their potato bodies. Wobbly and slow, she explored, but never did she go far away from the gathering.

RE: winter has come - Vaati - January 18, 2017

The world had changed, but oddly enough, Clavicus was not so perturbed. The weather had dropped and shortly thereafter, he was uprooted from the happy little den he'd thought literally was the entire world. It was startling and overwhelming, but the spiderling was.. okay with that. He liked the cold. He liked the way it tingled his spine and curled his toes. Plus, his mother was carrying him around now like the prince he was. How could a spoiled little boy complain?

When they arrived, the platinum boy allowed himself to be herded against his siblings. He gazed at the wolves that had gathered with still bleery, untrained eyes. Their scents were fairly familiar if their forms were not, so he did not mind being surrounded by them all. The adults began to speak, but Clavicus ignored them for the most part. Instead, his eyes zeroed in on his brother's upright ears, a wild gleam flickering though he stayed still for the moment.

RE: winter has come - Atshen’s Ghost - January 19, 2017

Life had been, but a blur since Atshen had set off with Kove on that fateful trip. It was on that adventure that Atshen had realized his real potential. He had steered clear of this most of his siblings the best her could, sticking close to the shadows that so easily engulfed him. Despite his reclusive nature, the ebony-furred male found that it was growing drastically colder by the day, so much so that he often did not stay out long from the family den. Though him not reaching out wasn't abnormal, he ensured that his family did not even look at him. While the others conversed, he watched, as his mind ran rampant with thoughts of slaughter and mutilation.

He awoke suddenly on the night of the 15th, at the sound of thunder crackling overhead. His lava-like eyes grew wide as the flew open, and he looked around, uncharacteristically startled by it all. Though he was quick to recover from such feelings, he got up without question and stayed at Nemesis' side. He did not question his mother's commands, nor did he say anything. Instead, he left the world above the web and into safety, leaving behind the frigid and frightening conditions for more favorable accommodations. It did not even occur to him that he would have to share a living space with so many others at that moment-- all he could think about was how he had to get out of the snow.

RE: winter has come - Cicero - February 07, 2017

not sure if there's an order still, but i wanted to get this in :)

After the pups were taken to the new place, Sheogorath remembered he had one more thing to do. "I'll be back soon," he shared after his sister's pups had all been brought to safety. He quickly rushed out even as others still dropped into their winter hiding, and moved to his den where he found @Relmyna . He had kept her there and fed her while she was recovering. He had intended to keep her here longer, but he knew their survival chances were larger if they would stay together. And so he made his way back towards the rest with her. She looked like a wreckage still, especially her face a mess that revealed too much flesh for comfort, and many teeth missing because she had knocked them out.

Oh, you silly girl, he thought to himself as he took her, and he wondered what the rest would think. Upon his return he shared; "This is Relmyna," he emphasised her name, so they would all know she was no longer Vuk, "a sister who has given us her soul and loyalty, undivided. She has proven it. She has killed for it, in greater measure than most of us can say." His stance silently commanded, And she is mine, as he moved back in, Relmyna staying just behind his shoulder. It was easy to see that she was still hurting, not just on the outside, but there was something hardened in her gaze, a certain numbness, a toughness; a strength. With Damien's untimely disappearance Sheogorath had not yet arranged her inauguration as a dark sister officially, but after she had killed her own mate to get in, offering bigger tribute than anyone else he knew had to get into the brotherhood, it was a matter of time to attain it.

RE: winter has come - Vandal - February 09, 2017

Vandal remained sat, quietly within the shadows of the cavern, his cerulean eyes watching as more members of the forest slowly poured into safety of the web. The brute's head tilted some as he observed the many pups that were gradually being brought into the warmth, his dark silver ears pivoting as he listened to the murmur of voices that now filled the air.

Most of the wolves present were unknown to the tyro and as he scanned the room, he couldn't help but let a drawn-out sigh escape him. It was weird being sat in a room full of complete strangers save for a few and as he pondered more on this, Vandal shifted himself uncomfortably upon the stone floor. This could be the time to mingle with the rest of the pack, since they were  now all gathered in the same spot, so Van peered slowly around the room, his bushy silver and white tail curling about his socked paws as he contemplated on where to begin.

His attention was drawn to a night colored male as he arrived and left, though soon returning with a familiar woman he'd recently met, known as Vuk, but the male went on to introduce her as, Relmyna. Quietly, Van watched the pair, blue eyes observing the state of the girl and then looking back to the male as he spoke. It was none of his business, so the tyro simple remained silent, eyes returning to analyse the rest of the gathering group.

RE: winter has come - Potema - February 12, 2017

Potema swiftly gathers her children to her, even as their half-opened eyes peered out at the strangers. Her tail curls possessively towards the comfort of her body; to some it might seem as if she was attempting to keep her children warm, but in actuality, the woman was frightened at the thought of living in close proximity with so many wolves who wanted her children dead

Her brother Cicero returns and with an unfamiliar woman. Potema squints at her, but then remembers the mother of Seff. She was confused: why wasn't she with the long missing boy? Where was her mate? Why was her name now Relmyna?
