This is where we will lay our claim.Eden turned to face her mate who stood by her side, then back to the icy fortress which they'd found. It was perfect; an impenetrable force in the winter's cold, though a home which promised life in the coming warmth. They would lead here, growing their numbers, nurturing their subordinates, until the time came for them to seek vengenance. She took a step forward, closing in on the glacier's borders, and sniffed to see if there lay a fresh line. When it became clear that it was unmarked, she turned to those who'd followed and made it through the tough conditions, and with a proud smile on her face, she turned her head upward to announce their claim. We made it, she said proudly, This will be our home. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Honey - January 24, 2017 It had been a long journey. Thank God the children could walk, else Honey didn't know how they would've made it. She sat silently, watching Eden briefly check out the large span of ice (it didn't seem like the smartest place to settle, what with eight clumsy pups and all), and occasionally cocking her head to get a better view. When Eden turned and began her call to the rest of the group, Honey happily joined in, her voice smooth like milk and honey. This was it, the land her children would grow to know as home. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Kieran Adrien - January 24, 2017 Kieran shuffled along on his numbly frozen paws, darting occasional glances. He sped up, begging to approach his mother, then let out a small, quiet chuff. "Mama? Why we movin' home? Why stranga's take home?" he whined sadly, remembering the terror of their attack, then he drooped his head and pressed close against his mothers side. Occasionally, he peered up, hoping to see the familiara, comforting face of his sister, but he could not find her. "Mama... whes Sowwel?" RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Cosmos - January 24, 2017 It was an understatement to say that this trip had been difficult for the young boy. Having just learned to walk it was extremely tiring to make such a difficult and long journey, especially in the snow. He often found himself relying on the scent of his mother to guide him through the snow, and even then he had managed to slip out of view every now and then. But he had made it by some miracle and collapsed the second the traveling party had reached their destination. He was in desperate need of some rest and then perhaps a meal later, but for now he flopped on his side and dozed off to sleep. If anyone expected him to move again than they were out of their minds. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Emory - January 24, 2017 Emory stared at the foriegn land with hidden distrust, what if it failed her just as the Glade had? She glanced at Rose and Hawthorn, she knew neither looked to her as a mother, and it didn't hurt her that badly, all that mattered is that she'll watch after them, whether it be from afar or up close. She refocused on Eden, her face holding no more expression, the only emotion left was the strange linger of lust in her eyes, no matter how dull the rest of her became. She observed the newly founded land, taking in what she could. She glanced at Kieran as he spoke, she had yet to ever speak to the yearling, she glanced at his mother, wondering how truthfully she would answer. That we were weak? That kind wolves are hard to find in reality? It didn't matter, she shifted her attention back to her higher rank. It was a small relief to finally find a new place to rest, but her cautiousness wouldn't cease anytime soon. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Calypso - January 24, 2017 The small bundle of white fur never strayed far from her mother, and was always close by her side. Wandering was scary, especially amongst the freezing cold, and her only source of heat was of her siblings and mom. At this age, she was now able to understand what Honey was to her, she was a parent, someone who doted on her, and Cosmo and Aurora were her brother and sister. That was all she was truly able to comprehend. At the sudden howl, the yearling attempted herself to make such a loud and beautiful call, so she lifted her head back and made a small squeek as an attempt to howl. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Sylvas Streiter - January 24, 2017 too many distractions through this post >_<
It was a long and difficult journey, especially uneasy for the pups of the group with such young legs. The mercenary having kept a close eye on the youths with the mothers through the travels. Sylvas tried to ignore the fact that his muscles ached and his paws were numb and he could only imagine how the pups felt. Confused, tired and most likely hungry, but they had to push onwards through the snow. Brown ears twitched as he caught sound of Eden's voice, head turning to look to her as she mentioned that this land would be the place they'd lay their claim. His golden eyes peered out to the glacier, the brute quietly observing the glittery, icy terrain before them for a moment. Slowly, Sylvas turned and offered his mate a smile, bushy tail giving a sway behind him as he nodded his head in agreement. This was it. This was now home. Sylvas turned his head to look to the others, large paws shifting in the snow as he watched them tiredly approach.. A sigh left his maw as he looked over the exhausted bodies, both big and small. The mercenary knew they would soon all need to eat, to fuel their systems, but for now rest was needed. The brown male looked to his wife once more with a smile still across his features, his head lifted as he let out a howl ring out beside Eden, their song echoing into the wind with the other former members of the court. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Rose - January 24, 2017 She had fought back the pain of leaving her home, for tears would do no good in this situation. Instead she distracted herself by checking over each of her siblings, then moved on to give her newly assumed brother and sisters a good look over. She was still unsure if she accepted them as family, but for the time being she would care for them just as she did for her remaining siblings. Once they were all checked on, Rose moved back to stand beside Hawthorn and looked at him with curious eyes. She wondered what he thought of this new claim, but before she had a chance to ask, she was met with the howls of her fellow packmates. So this is what you do when you lay claim to a land? The russet girl lifted her head and joined in on their song, pouring the last of her strength into the howl that would secure their new territory. RE: we'll replant our roots, and soon we will grow - Heartha - January 24, 2017 Heartha felt lost, having run away from another home. Add to that the loss of her son, Bramble, whom had wandered off. She never found him. But she knew that at his age, he would have died. There was nothing she could have done, except care for her only child now as well as keep the others alive by helping the mothers. She howled with the others in the claiming call. This would be a new home. But to Heartha, that's all it was. Not a fresh start. Just a continuation of the old home. The old wounds she had were still there, and would remain for as long as she remained. |
