Different strokes for different folks - Thistle Cloud - April 30, 2014

@Macawi

Thistle did not travel far from the den or the borders anymore being to far along to travel being one part of it the other part being the simple fact that she wasn't in top shape anymore so she had to be even more vigilant than usual.

Today she stayed near her borders but traveled to the small river that was just beyond. She wanted to stretch her legs, being in the borderlands all day every day made her extremely restless and she just wanted a small break. Ragnar would most likely pitch a fit for her being out without an escort, but she figured she was fine for now. She was not completely helpless though a little more helpless than usual.

She stood near the river and took a long drink of the cool clear water and then sat by the rushing waters side to watch it slide and glide over the rocks just below it's surface.

OOC: The tag didn't work. I'm glad I just happened to check to see if you had done it yet!

IC: Macawi was walking along the other side of the river from Thistle, when she looked up and saw her friend, the pregnant one, as Macawi so lovingly called her. She called from across the space, "Thistle! Hello, friend! How goes your pregnancy? I see you are still large and swelling!"

She didn't know what else to say, until she remembered her promise about hunting food for the wolf. "Do not move, friend!" she said. Then, without a second thought, she leaped into the water and swam furiously through the tide until she crawled, heaving, to the other side. "Well," she said. "That was… refreshing." She shook the water from her fur, and then gave her coyote grin to Thistle.

"Would this one like a nice, fresh fish?" she asked. "Macawi is just quick enough to catch them!"

OOC: Not cool but someone told me taggings being a little wonky as of late.

Thistle heard her name and looked up and smiled thumping her tail once. Her mate may not like the little coy/wolf but she did. Her attitude and mannerisms were refreshing and she was part wolf so how bad could she be really if she was part wolf. She called back " Hello Macawi. It goes well and Yes I am still large they have started to move.

Thistle chuckled at the grin she recieved as she was sprayed with the off cast of her little friends pelt. If you wish to catch me a fish by all means doo, but I don't need one though I wouldn't mind some company today.

OOC: I'm so pissed right now. I WROTE a reply on here already and either forgot to press send or... SOMETHING. *sigh* I'll rewrite it now, I guess.

IC: Macawi grinned again at her friend and said, "Then watch and learn, and one day perhaps even Thistle will be able to catch fish!" With that, she sat down at the river's edge, watching the water intently. She did not blink, and her eyes reflected the color of the water so that they became an odd tannish-bluish color.

Her muscles remained coiled for quite some time as she waited for a fish to swim close enough to the surface for her to grab it. She became completely mesmerized by her task, losing sight of all else around her, until she looked like a statue sitting there beside the river. Finally, her prize appeared. She saw the trout darting toward her in the water. Like a snake, Macawi's head lunged downward into the water and she snapped up the wriggling fish in her jaws, biting down until it moved no more.

With a triumphant gleam in her eye, she turned towards Thistle and dropped the fish at her paws. "There. Eat up, friend. Has this one ever tasted fish? It is delicious!"

Thistle had watched her father and brother sfishing so she knew the basics she supposed. They had never let her try, claiming that she was too small. She supposed she was rather small to be fishing in the sea rather than a river.

Thistle watched the coy/wolf as she waited. Her father and brothers had always been in the water so this was a new technique that she didn't know. She was curious to see how it would go, and to be completely truthful she was hungry. She supposed as long as she watched the coy/wolf catch the fish and such Ragnar could not grumble at her for eating any food given to her by the coy/wolf. Not that she would listen anyway, she was her own little wolf though she loved and respected him.

Thistle dipped her head in thanks "yes I have but never from here. THank's Macawi. Would you like half? She felt it only fair to share the fish that had been caught for her.

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Macawi - May 02, 2014

OOC: "Big Water" is Macawi's phrase for the ocean, since before coming to the Teekon Wilds, she had never seen the ocean before.

IC: Macawi grinned at her new friend. "No, no," she said, denying the offer of half of the fish. "Macawi will simply catch another for herself. Eat. This wolf and her unborn pups need the strength."

The coy-wolf turned back to the river and waited, just as she had the first time. In another minute or two, she had another fish in her jaws. She swiveled back to Thistle and lay down, dropping her meal between her paws. She took a bite of fresh fish thoughtfully, chewing slowly. Then she swallowed the mouthful and asked, "What does Thistle wish to talk about this day beside Big Water?"

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Thistle Cloud - May 02, 2014

Thistle sighed happily as she lay down and pulled the fish towards herself. Taking a big bite she almost moaned in the delightful taste. Sometimes she disgusted herself with as much food she ate as of late. She was going to have to do a lot of running after these babes of theirs were born.

Thistle shrugged at first and then spoke "What brings you here Macawi? Have you found a pack to your liking? No one has been mean to you have they? She tilted her head as she chewed softly on the fish waiting for an answer from someone she hoped to call a friend.

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Macawi - May 02, 2014

"Uhh, well…" Macawi began awkwardly. "Macawi has found a pack, but she is not quite sure about it… She sort of… went off on the alpha for calling Macawi 'your breed'. What Macawi means is, they chased Macawi around for a while, and when they finally stopped chasing her, the alpha said, 'What are you doing here? You should know going this close to a pack's borders is suicide. Especially for someone of your breed.' And, well… Macawi sort of snapped and yelled at her, and now she is not sure if she will be welcome. But Macawi wants to be a member of that pack. Macawi's best friend is there - no offense to Thistle, of course. Thistle is Macawi's good friend also."

Macawi sighed. "Coyote is afraid she will be packless forever. Wolves and Coyotes are meant to be a part of a pack. Macawi is tired of being lonely." The coy-wolf stared off into space for a little while, and then shook herself. "But forgive Macawi. How has Thistle been? How is her mate, the angry one?" She cracked a grin at this, eyes glowing with their usual joy and mischief.

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Thistle Cloud - May 02, 2014

Thistle listened and said softly Though I do not agree with it, I can understand where the alpha is coming from if she is traditional it is not usually that wolves and Coyotes get along though you are a separate case. Thistle hoped she wouldn't upset Macawi with that it was just a simple fact.

Thistle nodded her head I don't like to be lonely either Macawi. She listened and smiled as she continued to chew her fish. "I've been okay very tired lately and hungry all the time. She laughed at Macawi's nickname of Ragnar. "Ragnar is fine as well. He is expecting me to have these pups soon and it feels him with nervous energy.

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Macawi - May 02, 2014

Macawi gave her famous coyote grin and asked, "When is Thistle expected to have the pups? And Macawi wonders how many there will be, though she knows there is no way to tell… At any rate, she is happy for Thistle, and Thistle's mate, angry though he may be." She gave a laugh, and then stared out at the distant ocean.

"Macawi wonders… if she will ever have pups of her own, or even a mate at all… What wolf would take her as a mate? Macawi knows it happened once, or she would not be a quarter wolf, but… will it happen again? Considering what most wolves think of coyotes…" She sighed. "Is this coy-wolf destined to be alone, without a mate or pups, forever?"

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Thistle Cloud - May 02, 2014

Thistle smiled happily "I'm not 100 percent sure when I will have them but I have at least 3 weeks left until they are here. So I still have a long time to get bigger. She chuckled at herself Yes he can be angry sometimes very angry, but underneath it all he's good, just stern and a little savage, okay a lot savage but he would never hurt me or the pack.

Thistle smiled and said quietly "You would be surprised my alpha is part dog, though she does not speak about it too often and we do not bring it up. Perhaps if this other pack does not work out, you could talk to Pump she may except you in and you may have a mate and pups. You would make a good mother and mate Macawi.

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Macawi - May 02, 2014

OOC: I plan on making this my last post on here. Feel free to make a last post also, though I'm going to request to have it archived after this post.

IC: Macawi thought long and hard about Thistle's words. Now she was caught in the middle. What was this about Thistle's Alpha being part dog? She wished she had known this sooner! Now she was tempted to ask about joining this pack instead of the Silvertip Mountain pack. But… what about her friend, Erika? She could not simply leave her, especially not if she was going to be part of that pack. Jinx - the Alpha - was crazy! Macawi could not leave her friend to deal with the crazy Alpha by herself. She was scared for her friend's safety!

Macawi sighed, and gave a distracted smile. "Thank you for saying that Macawi would make a good mother and mate." She bowed her head. "She is sorry, but she must go now. She has a lot of thinking to do. Macawi hopes this one enjoys the rest of her fish. And stay healthy for the sake of your pups."

With that, she walked away, trailing the river slowly. What was she to do now?

RE: Different strokes for different folks - Thistle Cloud - May 02, 2014

Thistle watched her go and felt bad that she had upset her. She hadn't meant too, she was just trying to be friendly and give advice. Macawi seemed like she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She wished her the best.

Goodbye Macawi. And Thanks for the fish. Thistle watched her go hurriedly woofing down her fish and then with a small sigh and a heave she got to her feet and started traipsing back to the pack lands and her herbs and plants.
