you're such a delicate boy - Dublin - January 26, 2017 He felt more and more distant from his family, and his anxious thoughts were becoming oppressive— so oppressive that he avoided those that cared for him, not wanting to burden them with his feelings. It'd be different if he were a girl, like Szabala. He was supposed to be strong and confident and brave, but Dublin was none of those things. Worse, he didn't really have anyone to talk to about it. His father and uncle were both gone. His role models had left him to fend for himself. The weather didn't help. There was little to do, and the best way to stay warm was to stay concealed within the forest and their dens. Today, though, he strayed near the forest's edge, then took a brave step upon the glacier at its rear. He wasn't sure if he had ever been this far from the den before, and the cold had Dublin second guessing himself, but the more fearful he felt the more determined he became to go in that direction. Either he would die, or he would overcome it. RE: you're such a delicate boy - Birk - January 27, 2017 Frankly speaking, Birk felt screwed over by South. Big time. He hadn't wandered some thousand miles down here only to have winter catch him by his foot and sling him right back in the snow, ice and cold. Yeah, yeah, with all his experience and heritage it was nothing new, but still - where was the promissed sunshine? Abundance of food? Days to have leisure? This is not what I bargained for... he thought taking the path that led to the glacier he had been to some months earlier. "That's not fair!" he told the sky in a way a grumpy man shakes a fist at an invisible force that makes his life miserable. "At.All!" he yelled - this time louder and then listened, how his voice echoed against the cliffs and disappeared in the distance. "What's this?" Birk looked down, when suddenly he not only caught a whiff of a young wolf having taken the same path, but also saw a solid proof that his imagination was not tricking him. "Hmmm..." he said to himself, beginning to track the him or her down, feeling quite happy that there was something he could busy himself with. Eventually Birk lost track of the wolf and wanderedin an entirely different direction. |
