A winding, weaving fate to which we both atone - Darcia - March 03, 2017 @Bane bane bane ;D

Grievous had reached a stage in his life where very few things still tended to galvanize him. He had never been particularly interested in the enchantments of nature, nor had he ever seen value in what was the very subjective topic of beauty. This left very little in the world to leave an impression on the virile swain.

Not that his particular tastes were impossible to encounter; they just materialized very few and far between. And on this singularly bright day, marking the final flee of a still-clinging winter, he found his interest piqued by movement high above him; a perilous scene playing out against the impossibly steep cliffs he would never think to climb himself. He spotted the eagle first— a creature with a wingspan easily the length of his entire body, if not more— and second he noticed what it was circling: A climbing, unsuspecting ram. Grievous watched, his jaw slack in bright-eyed amusement, as the bird dove and latched onto the poor ungulate's hind limb, managing to snatch it from its tenuous hold on the mountainside, sending the bighorn plummeting fast to its death. RE: A winding, weaving fate to which we both atone - Bane - March 04, 2017

Bane lead the way in silence as they trekked up the mountain and across the range. With @Eros on tow, Bane had separated from the group with the intention of making a recognition of their surrounding territories in case they did end up settling down on the vale. He had left the child with the rest for the longer journeys, but this once Bane didn't plan to be out too long, so he offered the child a chance to learn something new along the way. The cliffs had nothing but dangerous paths, most of which were too narrow for Bane's tank-like body to take. Slow and arduous had been their climb, but once down there Bane saw it was worth it. The view from the peaks was wide and far, but from the base of the wall he could see how well protected they were if they had the advantage of controlling the higher grounds. He made sure to make a point about it to Eros, explaining the reasons and the strategy it involved, and then started again to surround the base and find another way up to get back to the vale. Rocks rolled down the precarious slopes constantly, one reason for Bane to be extra cautious. What he didn't see coming was the ram that tumbled down the wall, landing a meter away from crushing him alive. He hadn't noticed the other wraith observing the scene, but Bane's senses became fully aware of the ram and the eagle above. He warned Eros to stay put and creeping closer to the crushed body —heart still racing by the shock— sniffing his way towards as he measured the chances of filling his gut before turning back to the rest of the crew. RE: A winding, weaving fate to which we both atone - Darcia - March 04, 2017

A small outcropping of grounded rocks and boulders obscured Grievous' view of the unfortunate beast's landing, but even at his distance he could hear the inevitably terrible sound of bones breaking and gore splashing upon impact. And what a glorious sound it was!

The wolf surged forward to see the aftermath; though the glow of his sulfurous eyes would suggest he was more eager to partake, than he was to observe. An extensive life as traveler had taught him that a meal was a meal, and the less one had to work for it, the better. He also knew that rarely did things happen without reason— so when he arrived upon the scene less than a minute after impact, he was not truly surprised to see that he had been beaten to the punch. Grievous hung back— his jaws beginning to salivate as the scent of blood unconsciously began to work through his system— but much of his focus was on the competition that loomed ahead of him. And above. The massive, wheeling eagle gave a manic and angry cry above the three wolves, having realized that its meal was being accosted by a gaggle of other predators. Grievous' eyes dropped again, settling on the snow-titan and his young protege. The older wolf appeared to be just shy of his own height, but there was an unmistakable power to the male's musculature that the hellhound did not possess himself; not with his lean, bladed form— the scythe of the fourth horseman incarnate. Careful,he warns the pair in a voice like liquid metal, and motions with his nose towards the still-wheeling bird of prey. She might take thy son as atonement for her stolen meal. Oftentimes had he been left alone with the others, each of which filled his stomach with unease. The beast with a streak of black down his seam was the worst, something about him always having made the boy’s hair stand on end. Next came the darkest of the gathering, whose words occasionally sounded peculiar and weren’t the least bit comprehensible; perhaps because they were spoken in a tongue that was not the wraith’s own. Even the silent one irked him, for his appearance confused the child whilst his inability to act of his own free will frustrated him. To spend even a second too long with them had Eros contemplating an escape, and so the trip away from that lot was welcomed with opened arms. Not even a query pertaining to their destination had been uttered, as was the result of his gratitude for being taken away.
Little verbal exchanges were made but always had the boy listened when Bane spoke. When there was knowledge to be obtained, he lunged for it, fully intending to fill his mind with anything that might someday be of use. Still was the memory of Vixen’s death hazy, and yet, it was decided that the pallid warrior could not have been the one to have slain her. He was a true brute—one look at his physique and anyone could declare this to be factual—but lacked naught within the realms of emotion. Next to him, the masked phantasm felt safe—or as safe as a lamb could be whilst surrounded by a pride of lions. With that came trust, or the beginning threads of such, and so no arguments had come from the boy when commanded to stay back. It was as if he’d been caught in Medousa’s stare, his body having grown so still that upon him moss could have flourished. And forward he watched, gazing intently at the man whose lead he followed. From overhead a voice descended, the words able to do what the eagle’s cry had not: drag away from Bane the attention of the boy. Lifting his chin, golden eyes climbed the ridges of the mountain so that they could rest upon the stranger; curious was he, of where the man had come from and what his intentions were. On him, the stare had remained, not yet ready to return to the body of his guardian.

I'm so sorry, i am not worthy of RPing with you two writing masters u.u

Bane was taken by surprise by the stranger's appearance. His voice, that deep, rattling sound brought Bane's undivided attention upon his greyscale figure, and on it his pale eyes fixated as the killbird flew overhead. Bane didn't look up where the male was pointing before giving him a thorough look. Eros was behind him, relying on his protection, and the wraith wasn't going to let his guard down any soon. She can try,Bane countered, a statement directed to the eagle as much as it was a warning for the golden-eyed male. |
