All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Faeryn - March 05, 2017 @Brunhilde Spar thread! :3 Wasn't sure where to start it so I hope here is okay! Also, I appologise for the short and crappy post...
Belle was on her way to join a pack. It was one she had heard about from a passing stranger, and it caught her interest. However, after arriving at the Great Bear Wilderness, she decided to rest a little before continuing on her travels. She slept a good while, though no dreams entered her mind - or if they did, she had lost all rememberance of them. The fae did not mind though. Instead she lay with her eyes closed. Now, she was not asleep, only waiting. Resting her eyes. She felt a little like stretching her muscles, but felt no sudden need to, so she stayed where she was, enjoying the Spring breeze. The less than graceful creature came ploding through the forest, her nose pressed into the dirt and snuffling for scents as she thundered along. With the heavyset frame she carried, it was safe to say the woman got hungry rather quick just on a regualar day basis, let alone after traveling for numerous days without food. The recent events of the past few days had also sapped some of her energy, so, needless to say, Brunhilde felt like she was starving. She needed food, now, and the longer she had to deal with that dull ache in her stomach, the more irriated and impatient she got. So far, quite a few scent trails had crossed her radar, but they were old and mixed with other questionable scents. Not just other prey animals, but other predators as well, wolves even. None of them were fresh enough to care about though. Not a single worthy trail had found her nose yet, and with her unfamiliarity to this new land, she dismally had to wonder if anything ever would. Could she really be so unlucky as to have wandered into a land without good prey? The thought made her snort and push forward, steps becoming more hurried and determined, if not upset. There had to be something here. Hours passed, hours full of nothing but angry growls, coming from both her throat and her stomach. She was debating eating plants at this point, when... Wait... Hadn't she smelt that old trail before? The female stoppd abruptly and lifted her head, sniffing the air with confusion. The layout of the area looking familiar... Then again, it was a forest: all trees looked the same, and her scarred eye did little to help. She turned her head from left to right, scanning her surroundings with a angrily pounding heart. No, no she most certainly had not gone in a circle! Now giving a ragid huff of irriation, she turned her body in a completely different directon and started stomping forward, determined to get somewhere new, somewhere with food. She could not have just wasted all that time smelling the same trails... She pushed through some undergrowth and traveled through it for a few more paces before coming across a small clearing, and the first thing she noticed was not a rabbit (much to her dismay), but another wolf, lying down and seemingly asleep. The appearance of the stranger had come as a faint shock to Brun, but the feeling quickly disipated when she recalled having already smelt wolves in these woods. It shouldn't be that surprising, and quite frankly, she was more concerned with eating that making a new "friend", making her want to turn away from the scene and continue searching altogether. Still... Perhaps this wolf knew where the food was? Maybe they could point her in the right direction? She didn't like the idea of seeking directions from a stranger, admitting she couldn't do something on her own, but damn she was hungry, and she certainly was not going to keel over somewhere in the woods just because her pride said not to ask for help. Sighing silently, she pushed forward and approahced the other, soon towering over her and glaring down at the wolf. Female. She could smell it. And a pretty female. Of course, as the stuck up wolves of her homeland would comment, it was her understanding that all females were pretty, except Brunhilde. She bit back a growl and forced away the biased thoughts, then lifted a massive paw and thumped the back of the female's neck with it. "Hey," she barked gruffly.

RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Faeryn - March 06, 2017 She was just beginning to drift back into a peaceful sleep, but it seemed that it was not meant to be. Instead a thump on her neck made her shoot to her paws, alert as a squirrel. Her hackles rose and her ears flickered back and forth, eyes scanning the area until they landed on the figure of a wolf. For a moment, she simply stared, but soon her hackles lowered and she let out a breath. "Who are you?" The silver fae asked, wondering what the stranger could possibly want with her. Firstly, why had she broken her slumber? And what on earth did she think she was doing? If it had been a more aggressive wolf, the other woman might have her head torn from her neck. The wolfess took a moment to study the female. She was bigger than Belle, and less elegant. Though, it did not particularly matter. Beauty was not always found on the outside, though perhaps that meant it was on the inside. Besides, her appearance showed her to be tough - a male would be lucky to have her as a mate. It also meant she might be stronger than Belle. She blinked her eyes and gave a flick of her tail. In response to the she wolf's jumpy behavior, Brunhilde merely leaned backwards so as to avoid any immediate attacks, anchoring her toes in dirt so as to not actually step back. The reaction was to be expected, she supposed, and was entirely anticipating a set of fangs to be barred in her direction, maybe even have a pair of jaws snapping mere inches from her form. It didn't phase her, hence her lack of personal space, but if she could avoid the stranger's teeth by leaning away, she'd certainly do so. Surprisingly enough however, after recovering from the shock, the wolf seemed to calm down completely, not a single trace of anger or aggression evident in her features. Good. That'd make this easier. The brute's ears nonchalantly flicked to the question before huffing a simple response, "Hungry." Because yes, in her time as a loner, she'd totally shirked her birth name "Brunhilde" and swapped it out for her constant state of being. Well, as far as this wolf needed to know anyway. Her goal wasn't to make friends, just fill her stomach, so why did she need a name? "Y'know where a good place to get food is?" She rumbled, getting straight to the point. She made no effort to obtain this female's name, give her space, or even apologize for surprising her. Again, she just wanted to know where the food was.

RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Faeryn - March 19, 2017 So sorry for the uber-late crappy reply! :O
At first Belle was confused when the large female responded. Her name is Hungry? It was possible, but odd. Who would ever name their child something like that? Then the other woman asked a question, and Belle tilted her head. So, she wasn't called Hungry. Or... she didn't think so. Maybe she was. "Er... not really. Sorry." What annoyed her somewhat was the fact she didn't introduce herself, she didn't apologise, she simply wanted to know where the food was. Belle inwardly sighed before repeated her first query. "Who are you?" RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Brunhilde - March 25, 2017 It's fine! ^^

The brute "hmphed" dismissively, as if to say "well you're useless", then turned to brush past the smaller wolf, intent on leaving. If this female couldn't supply her with food, then there was no point in continuing to talk to her, since that's all Brun had wanted in the first place. As she brushed past, she had intended to just walk by Belle, but had miscalculated her turning and ended up shouldering the girl to the side, practically shoving her out of the way. It was a mistake, and one she did internally apologize for, but made no real effort to show regret as she kept moving. Towards the question — the same question that had already been asked and sort of answered — she briefly flicked her ears back, showing that she heard, but did not stop, only offering the gruff mutter of, "Brunhilde." in response.

I know nothing really spar inducing has happening thus far, but maybe Brun's flat out rudeness might push some of Belle's buttons? RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Faeryn - March 25, 2017 Sure!
Belle furrowed her brow in disbelief as the more masculine female shouldered into her, and the silver fae let out a low growl before pinning her ears to the back of her head as the woman didn't even say anything. She did not apologise, which let Belle to believe that she had done it on purpose. And boy did it piss her off. She felt her hackles raise and she snapped her head round to look at the large wolfess again. "Excuse me?" she narrowed her eyes, turning her body around to fully face the other. She growled again and took one step closer. This wolf dared to wake her, question her, then downright disrespect her? Who did she think she was? "I don't appreciate being treated like that." she challenged, hoping to see worry in the other's eyes. Of course, Brunhilde might be larger but that did not mean she was the most skilled fighter. And as of right now, she was on the bad side of Belle, who was bristling with annoyance. RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Brunhilde - March 25, 2017

The pale woman's sharp words pierced the air like a serpant's fangs, causing Brunhilde to abruptly halt and toss the wolf an uninterested glance over her shoulder. Her murky brown eyes slowly looked the stranger up and down, noticing her barred fangs, wrinkled muzzle, raised hackles, and every other sign of aggresion in her body language, not to mention the angered tone she had suddenly taken up. In response, the bulky female only arched her brows quizically, as if silently asking "are you done?". Fear didn't even begin to take root in her brain, as she wasn't inimidated by the seemingly weaker wolf one bit. She knew her strength, knew her skill, knew how to throw her weight around, and if this stranger really decided to get aggressive, all she'd have to do was body check her one good time and it would send the other tumbling to the ground. At least, in Brun's mind it was that simple. Underestimating lesser females came naturally to her, having grown up in a society where so many of them were raised to be frail and fragile, the polar opposite of the bear herself. In all honesty, not only was she not inimidated by the other, but she also didn't see what she had done wrong. The burly woman was very narrow minded, almost incapable of seeing things from someone else's perspective. Sure, that accidental shove had been a bit much, but everything else was justified in her mind, so she really didn't see what the big deal was. Writing it off as nothing, she ignored the wolf altogether and turned away, one again intending to continue on her righteous quest for food. She regarded Belle as if she were nothing more than a pesky flea.

RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Faeryn - March 25, 2017 That was it for Belle. She was being ignored now. The silver wolfess charged forward and leapt at the other woman's back, attempting to shove her over with a snarl. The fae was stronger than she looked for sure. She tore through the air, and if she succeeded in knocking Brunhilde, even the slightest, she would try to clamp her jaws around her neck. If that didn't work, she would lean down and try to bite the bear's legs. Right now she was even more pissed. RE: All the times you said I wasn't just quite right - Brunhilde - March 26, 2017

She heard the snarl before she felt the impact, but even then, it was too late. Just as she was turning her head to investigate the noise, the smaller woman came barreling into her, forcibly pushing Brunhilde forward and taking the air out of her lungs in a heavy chuff. Someone more composed might be able to assess the situation and find a calmer, more logical way to react, but Brunhilde was not that someone. Her mind could only be in two places: calmness sparked by apathy with a touch of annoyance, and aggressive battle mode. She was calm when unharmed and aggressive when touched, and right now, she was being touched, so it was time to fight. The stranger's efforts to push her over had only resulted in Brun stumbling forwad, her front half dipping some as she clumsily braced her paws against the dirt. With the weight of the other against her back and a barrage of bites going for her legs, she ducked her head protectively and began to violently shake her form with a venemous snarl, angrily trying to toss the silver woman off. If she was not sucesfful in this, she'd end up furstrated and impatient with the lack of result, prompting her to just rush forward in and try to tear away from the other's grasp, or at least through off the female's balance.
