now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Akantha - March 06, 2017

PACK FORMATION HOWL!
This event is mandatory, but only requires one post! I will archive once everyone replies or by March 31st.

This was it. The time had come.

With seven strong at her back, and more to follow, Akantha finally felt as if their position in the Blackwater Isles could go unchallenged. So, as the Moon rose high above a cloudless, chilly sky, Akantha stood fast upon the Southern Shore and threw her voice to the Mothers, beckoning them to witness her as she marked their place in history. It was here she would protect her Sisters, their Consorts, and their future until her last breath escaped her and her soul returned to the churning depths.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Gabe - March 06, 2017

Gabe was in the midst of hunting a rabbit when he heard the matriarchs howl. This was it, the pack was formed and the Nereides had officially claimed their Islands. For a moment he felt great, thinking about how he now had a family, though it may be a different one. He only hoped they could become to him what his old family used to be. He'd transitioned from many brothers to many sisters, and now he had a lover, a beautiful woman to quell his desires. Well maybe it was the other way around, him being her lover. He didn't mind though, he quite liked it that way.

Forgetting about the rabbit for a moment, Gabe raised his head and howled into the trees, his voice mingling with those of his new pack mates. He was happy.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Whip - March 06, 2017

Seemingly out of nowhere, a chorus rose above the elder fur trees of the Thistlewood. It was time. With the meeting with Drageda over, the time had come to make their presence known to all who could hear. It was only natural to feel compelled to join the chorus of voices. From where he sat in the wood, Whip, a mere drudge, threw his head back and joined his voice with the others with an odd sense of pride.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Deirdre - March 06, 2017

the siren song rang o'er the treetops, and Galateia joined in their melody. her voice was something old and ancient, deep as the gnarled roots of the monoliths went—and then rising high, as the frightening waves of a tsunami oft could. hers was a song of passion and pride; though she was new to them, new to this, Galateia pledged her devotion—it poured forth from her through every note.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Salish - March 06, 2017

Salish awoke from her slumber to the beautiful songs of her kind. She lifted her head from where it rested in the sand between her paws, honey eyes that were usually merry now wistful and somber. Their numbers had grown, and the she-wolf had known in her heart that the time to announce their congregation was near. And now, it had happened. From the initial call of their elegant leader rose a chorus of pride, voices swelling into a melody of unmatched beauty. A smile broke across her beige features. In the interest of expressing her loyalty, Salish lifted her snout towards the sky and added her wolfsong to the symphony which played in perfect tune with the whispers of the  Sea. The Islands were theirs, the Nereides was created.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Indie - March 07, 2017

Indie had spent some time recently thinking about her reasons for joining the tribe of women [and men] known as The Nereides. The vaudevillian had simply done nothing more than meet the Amazonians and follow in their wake, and she was now wrapped up in something much larger than herself and that was quickly becoming something real and tangible. She had always chalked it up to their beautiful culture and exotic brand of finesse — but, truthfully, the shadowed femme had been looking for something to cling to, something to believe in, something [anything] to fill the void that the Merry-Andrews gang once filled.

The Sirens offered that and so much more.

So when the call from Akantha, her Matriarch and mentor, rose to the heavens [and was swiftly joined by several others] Indie reciprocated. Her sweet, smooth jaws lifted upwards and the chanteuse did what she did best: sang. He voice rang loud, melding with the others and creating a powerful harmony as if you say here we are. Indie sang for love of these women and respect for their ocean gods [even if she did not completely understand it yet], for her own dedication and abutment. The vaudevillian could not promise that her allegiance did not come without subversion and imagination — but it came with the best of intentions.

So Indie sang and sang and sang and sang, willing The Nereides into existence alongside her sisters.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - Kalika - March 07, 2017

Kalika could feel the pride and relief coursing through her veins for hours before the chorus began. Thus, she allowed nought but for the smile on her maw to grow as she thought about the life she was to create for herself. She had a family. Not like the ones which she'd had before, either. Rather, this was a real family with real love and a real connection. She craned back her neck and released a song of her own, proud and jovial in the presence of her home.

RE: now we're in the ring and we're coming for blood - RIP Hemitheia - March 09, 2017

She hadn't made up her mind until the song crescendoed through the sky. With the call of Akantha punctuated by the crashing of the sea upon the rocks around her, Hemithea felt simultaneously energized and at peace — thrilled by the power around her, imbibed within her, but also chilled to the core by her own doubts. The girl had not left the grotto where she had been found by Akantha; she lurked there like a castaway, an outsider look in on a world she had tried to ignore. But now with the song filling her ears, Hemithea could not ignore the poignant moment as it fell upon her. She cast back her own head and joined the song - late, but perhaps it would not matter - and threw her lot in with her sisters.
