Zeus had the thunderbolts - RIP Hemitheia - March 18, 2017

After a few days of foraging and fishing around the island chain, Hemithea felt the urge to explore beyond it. It meant leaving behind the Nereides for the time being - and most of them were content living on their island in seclusion from the world, which was perfectly fine for the wayward daughter of the sea.

She wanted to be a part of their world again - she wanted to be home, but it just didn't feel right, not yet. So Hemithea ventured along the thin land bridge, plunged in to the sea, and made her way to the coast of the mainland again. She hadn't told anyone of her urge to explore, which may or may not come back to bite her in the ass... But the initiate did not think about that.

Hours after her departure from the main island, she was upon a sprawling beach — this one reaching farther than the eye could see. She was tired, but invigorated from her swim and the great ordeal that the travel had been; so rather than set for a hunt (for a meal or a trinket, as either would be of value later), Hemithea basked in her exhaustion, feeling the wind blustering through her damp fur as it had upon Soteria.

RE: Zeus had the thunderbolts - Wraith - March 21, 2017

A cold breeze followed Wraith, a permanent companion in her journey, wisps rippling through her pale coat, kissing her ears with the whispers of lost thoughts. Scents of familiar places and alien homes ran alongside her. She was moving through the alien wilds, forests, hills, mountains. All fell behind her. She moved with a steady pace, never staying in one place long enough to be seen if she could avoid it. The occasional left over prey showing her passing.

This is time she found herself walking along the wide beach, the endless sea rolled off to her side, the breath of wind bringing the tang of salt around her. Copper eyes watched indifferently as waves rolled in one after the other. For a moment she was lost, reflecting on the journey that brought the girl the worlds end, as she thought of the endless sea. Her quiet revert was broken when the smell of salt, sand, and birds was suddenly interrupted by the unmistakable intrusion of another wolf. A wet wolf no less.

Wraith had no where to be, and was in no hurry to get there, with a fluid movement she turned and began a slow walk towards the offending smell. it didn't take her long to stumble on the creature. An almost mimic of herself seemed to have taken a swim in the sea. For a moment she fought the urge to move away, but she knew now was as good a time as any to end her wandering. The instinctual bristling of her fur was offset as she approached the wet creature, she stopped a few feet away and sat. "Oh, poor dear you're absolutely drenched." She spoke with a soft voice, a look of genuine concern etched on her face.

RE: Zeus had the thunderbolts - RIP Hemitheia - March 22, 2017

Like her sisters, Hemithea was adapted to the life of a coastal wolf. She carried the blood of many generations in her veins; her coat was thin and easily tamed by water, but equally easy to dry. Her body was athletic and strong from years of swimming, climbing upon cliffside paths, and battling currents. It would not take long before the sun warmed her, and the seaside breeze sucked away the dampness in her coat.

Knowing this, she was not about to shake off the excess water or try and busy herself with activity. Although it would also warm her, Hemithea knew not to waste her energy after such an arduous journey. She was content with the sensation of sore muscles — it was her body telling her she'd worked hard.

Thus when a stranger emerged from the girl's periphery (like  a mirage, and so much like herself!) Hemithea was more addled by the similarities between the two of them than anything else. Her words slipped in one ear and out the other in equal measure; there was no hint of an accent upon the stranger's voice, and she seemed far too invested in the state of Hemithea considering she was so foreign.

Hemithea, on the other hand, narrowed her blue-slate eyes with suspicion, and retorted in the mother tongue: Είναι μόνο νερό. With that she turned to stare out at the sea, although her ears were twisted to listen for movement or a response from her doppleganger - just in case this was a test from the Mother, a trick by the Drowned God, or simply a danger she could easily avoid.

RE: Zeus had the thunderbolts - Wraith - March 22, 2017

Calm to the end, Wraith held little concern for herself when she approached her mimic. She was assured in her choice to begin communicating with others who inhabited this land, the strange tug of companionship was as strange to her as this foreign land.

Her copper eyes were fixed on the girl, a slight widening showing the mild surprise as her comment was met with a strange language. As the white girl turned to look over the ocean, Wraith found her ears going back against her skull. She thought for a moment if this language was one she may have heard. Words, unfamiliar and strange were lost on her. "Indeed."  She offered. Following her gaze, she set her sights across the seemingly endless water.

Once again a small gust of wind swept past the girl, faint whispers heard in gentle breeze once more. The white beast shook her head slightly before speaking. "I suppose that noise was a request for me to leave, or some nonsense." Turning her head back toward the alabaster wolf, she waited for further response. Be it gibberish or not.
