the world has turned and left me here - Tsukiko - May 08, 2017 He roamed across the sloping hills of the mountains intent on finding something to eat, but only found a fresh path to somewhere new and open. The meadow sprawled across his vision and soon enveloped his body with a vast array of spring growth; new buds were everywhere, with smatterings of every color ranging across the horizon. The wolf picked his way through them without seeming to notice the beauty indicative to the area. He stopped to sniff some roots, idly chomped some of the greens he found to settle his aching stomach, but was not transfixed for any length of time. He stopped only when the winds turned and a great swell of wolf scent began to compete with the perfume of the flowers. It was faint; a long ways off still, but it piqued his interest like nothing else. RE: the world has turned and left me here - Nocturnal - May 08, 2017

It had only hit her a few days ago; she had never explored her surroundings but the more inward territories. What lied to the East of their home was a mystery, seeing that no one in these damned woods wanted her to grow up with knowledge about the world it seemed. But Nyx was a clever woman; what she could not learn from another, she learned herself. It had been this way with hunting and even with dismembering - both acts she enjoyed, though one was for survival and the other for pleasure. She had a life not many knew about - not even her blood-mother that had disowned her moons ago or her father that had not even been involved in her life at all. Her father she tolerated, given his age and wise words, but her mother? She despised Nemesis for not being there as she grew up - she had hated seeing her brothers being given a position of high value while she was neglected and ignored. It was a cruel act of favouritism - something she did not stand for. Either you had strength - mental or physical - or you didn't, and only the one having that mixed with something that made a leader a great one should be allowed a position at the top. Damien was their rightful ruler, but even he had seemed to cower at the thought of taking over with force. And so, the burden was passed on to the disowned daughter.
She crossed the borders that had kept her safe for her whole life into the unknown - the wind playing favourites as well. The wind was blowing her scent in the direction she was going, which was quite dangerous. She relied on her other senses then. Her mismatched eyes trailed over the meadow's blooming flowers - spotting a sun touched coat of bark that draped over a malnourished, skeletal form too late for her to alter her path. She slowed to a stop a safe distance away, her gaze questioning him without a word.

RE: the world has turned and left me here - Tsukiko - May 08, 2017 Tsukiko had encountered wolves outside of his family before. He had lived among them on the mountain, grown accustomed to their presence. They did not play strong roles within his life regardless of the fact they let him linger there with uncle. When they dispersed, and then Tsukiko returned from his explorations to find even his kin missing, he knew there was no reason to stick around either. There were clusters of wolves between the mountain and this wild place - some which took to the boy easily, accepted his mild-mannered ways and more basic nature - and others which he hastily fled from, or ignored. It was difficult to tell which option he should take with this stranger - dark though they were, they were young too, and did not carry themselves as if they owned this land. Tsukiko had halted initially for that airy scent of wolf but, now, he watched the stranger with a careful eye; he did not look away, nor did he stare upon her with any desire to control. He just was, and behind him his tail began to sway with a friendly beat. RE: the world has turned and left me here - Nocturnal - May 09, 2017

While Nyx was anything but humble she was not the one to rub in that she was more familiar with something; she knew not to be like her mother. Only in certain situations did she present herself as something larger than life, but never would she do so with a stranger nor with the wolves of the woods. Respect was to be earned - not to be given around freely as Nemesis believed. Her sons were not more than Potema's - Nyx was no less than her siblings. Her mismatched eyes trailed over the other form with precise caution, only moving closer when he did not show irritation with her presence. She had not met many strangers in her life - given the short moment to think about it, she would say he was the first.
Greetings. She chuffed in her slightly accented voice, ears pressing forward attentively and curiously. He seemed so different from what she was used to; nothing like her brother, Damien nor the old Miraak.

RE: the world has turned and left me here - Tsukiko - May 09, 2017 She spoke; it was a defining moment for the both of them, because so few wolves had ever spoken around Tsukiko - and with the language she utilized - that he was, for a second, unsure of what he heard. There was the obvious manner of her posture, the tone of the sound, and yet an accent and an attentiveness that each juxtaposed the other (at least to Tsukiko). His tail wagged a couple times like a true pendulum, then fell flat against his hocks. The man listened intently, wondering if she'd try to make more noises or if she was waiting for something from him - for he was feral, but not stupid. All he could muster however was a pleasant note, something hummed from deep in his chest that was at best, inviting. RE: the world has turned and left me here - Nocturnal - May 12, 2017

Her brows moved the tiniest bit, shifting the stars on her forehead, as she expected a greeting back. A look of expectance and confusion was the most she could muster as she dared to step just a few inches closer. Did he even understand? Her accent was so light that it should not disturb the understanding of it to a native speaker, and yet the man seemed... unamused? Not interested? Deaf? Honestly, Nyx could not tell; not even with her wits and natural talent of convincing and manipulating others.
You are not a very talkative man then. She concluded. You simply must greet ladies whenever they approach you - it is gentlemanly. She explained. Where had he come from? Do you understand me?She asked.

RE: the world has turned and left me here - Tsukiko - May 21, 2017 Not a very talkative man. What use were words when you had a body? What use was a warning when a flash of teeth could do the trick? Or a well-timed bow, or the arch of the tail? He did not need words in his simple, brutal world. But he understood them. And when she asked, he took a moment to look at her and consider things, then nodded, looking frightfully grim (as if he were admitting a great and terrible secret!). His tail whisked behind him, then settled upon his hocks. He was proud of himself for knowing the different language - the spoken language - even though her words were heavily accented. The thought of trying to speak, even a small sound, did not cross his mind. It seemed to alien to him. RE: the world has turned and left me here - Nocturnal - May 22, 2017

Eyes shrunk to slivers, mouth open as she tried to understand when the man before her nodded. This did not make sense; he possessed understanding of her language and yet did not wish to converse with her. Pfft - a pretty girl like her had better things to do than talk to a mere mute. He could have been a possible acquaintance for their rebellion, but if he did not speak she would not have him. Nyx was not stupid, she simply preferred words above all else.
I will be off then. She said unsurely, turning her front to the side only to stop halfway through her turn. One paw hovered above the ground - she had wanted to explore but had been greatly discouraged by the stranger.

|
