season 2 episode 3 - Olive - May 29, 2017 It was night; early morning, as a matter of fact, and Olive had been awake for many hours. Sleep had been attempted, but the attempt ultimately failed and after being she had been restless for a spell, the mother pulled herself from the forms of her small cubs and made leave of their den. A passing glance was thrust over her shoulder, and as she saw their chests puffing with rapid, sweet puppy breaths, the mother knew they would be fine alone for a few hours. They were no longer small babies, and Olive loved it as much as she loathed it. Across the mountain she went, finding a small promontory and settling her gamine haunches upon it. It had become her customary locus for her star watching, for her elevation was high upon the side of moonspear and she achieved an unobstructed, 360-degree view of the heavens. It was arduous trek, but made easier in the coolness of the night and very much so worth the journey. On this night, however, it immediately became clear that there was a disturbance in the force. The stars stood still but their energy was erratic and the push-pull-push-pull of their tidal alignment signaled to an issue on the coast. The druid felt her heart quicken a beat. There was imbalance and Olive wasn’t there to fix it; and immediately the woman worried of Ravensblood Forest and the ghosts that walked amongst the bleeding timbers and the atramentous nursedog who’s body was sold in place of her own; would they be alright, despite the unidentified foe that they battled? Softly Olive crooned these questions to the stars above, but soon the stars would recede into their bright obscurity of the daylight light and Olive would return to her daily duties of pup rearing and these types of thoughts would need to be swallowed. Thus were the responsibilities of a prophet masquerading as a mother — and though the sun had only begun to make its presence know in the east, the stars continued to twinkle brightly and allowed her more moments with them. RE: season 2 episode 3 - Terance - June 04, 2017 tonight the stone was out and about as usual... but he didn't seek out lyra to see if she was stargazing. the last major nighttime thing that had happened ended up being crashed by her dad, and terance was feeling less than up to having that happen again. besides, as much as he craved companionship, terance was still a man of silence and solitude, and he rather liked his time alone with the stars. tonight, however, it seemed that the gods had another plan for him. along his trek up the mountain, terance saw a shape that was out of character for the moonspear clan. it lacked the typical dark-coat that even he possessed-- and it was too feminine to be charon. a few sniffs reminded him of olive, the mother of the terrible children, and his nose scrunched up. his first impression of her was bad mother, and therefore the opposite of osprey-- and therefore someone he didn't care to spend time with. that being said, she was sort of in a really rad stargazing spot, and terance didn't like passing up the oppertunity to stargaze from a such a great spot. showing his prejudice to the side, the redleaf-disarrino boy let out a low woof, hopefully grabbing olive's attention. he'd met her before, barely, but he doubted that she wouldn't know who he was. he was mostly curious of her trade. somehow, the stone felt that someone had told him that olive too was a naturalist... but he couldn't quite remember. RE: season 2 episode 3 - Olive - July 02, 2017 Her gaze danced across the heavens, entirely engrossed in the action of counting every speck of light that she could scry… …one, two, three, four… …when a soft woof brought her mind back to her physicality. Olive’s feathered ears flicked against the noise as if it tickled her ears, and her visage tossed over her shoulder to find the sound that emanated from behind her. Her mossy eyes followed. The fae immediately recognize it as Terence. She and the young male had not necessarily had the best introduction — but in Olive’s opinion it could have been worse. She had been exiled from the only pack she had ever known, and it doesn’t get much worse than that. So, a sweet smile graced her pointed maw and her body twirled around to face, narrow hips resettling against her lookout stone. “Terence,” she greeted, letting the shadowed male decide upon the nature of their meeting. |
