and build a lego house. - Artaax - June 19, 2017 It was a quiet, calm day. The sun peeked out from clouds somewhere high overhead and the hung seemingly motionless in between it and the ground. The lake that centered the territory was still as a plate of glass and just as clear under the circumstances, providing Artaax the perfect mirror in which to stare at himself as he found himself so unexpectedly doing just then. He stood up to his elbows (or the wolf equivalent of them) in the water, peering with wide, curious eyes at the image of himself that fluttered from the ripples that echoed from his dripping fur. There was plenty about himself that was different than he last had seen, but only one of these nuances stood out to him just then. Or, two rather. The shifting of his eye color had likely been gradual, subtle. It had probably been steadily progressing for days, barely noticeable to anyone who hadn't been watching for it (so anyone but his moms). Artaax himself certainly had been unaware until a few minutes ago when he'd haphazardly chased a large, croaking frog into the water and caught sight of his reflection while trying to peer into the depths for his quarry. Now he stood transfixed, overcome with curiosity about the face that stared back at him. His head tilted back and forth as he gazed, then slowly he reached his nose down to sniffle at the reflection of his nose, wondering if it smelled like him... RE: and build a lego house. - Blixen - June 27, 2017 Now that they were older, the trio were allowed out of the caverns with more lenient supervision than they were accostumed. Blixen, of course, took advantage of the situation whenever and wherever she could, stealing away to resume her investigation of their home until the inevitable time that Nomi and Mother's patience ran thin and she was ushered back to the rendevousz site. It was a process that repeated time and time again as the headstrong girl tested the limits of her parents patience. Today was not one of those days. Instead she'd deigned to remain relatively close to the caverns, choosing instead to bask in the early summer sunlight until her attention drifted to a colorless swath of fur seated beside the glassy surface of the lake. Her over-large ears swiveled towards the apex of her skull as she lazily lifted her head from the forest floor. All manner of leafy detris lay tangled in the ragged mess of her transitioning coat, but she paid it little mind as she gathered her limbs beneath her and headed closer to get a better look. It was Artaax. And he seemed... puzzled. Confused? Blixen's vocabulary was growing, sure, but she was still figuring out which words suited her best. She wrinkled her nose when he dipped his own towards the water and gave an audiable sniff—"Did a stinky fish wash up again?" she asked with a mischevious grin. RE: and build a lego house. - Artaax - June 28, 2017 His reflection smelled like water, which was less than surprising. Artaax wasn't ready to give up his investigation however, and was seconds away from plunging his nose straight into the water to take a deep breath when Blixen arrived. The boy frowned as he turned to his sister, even though she had unwittingly saved him from a pretty awful experience. He got over his displeasure at being interrupted in about .037658 seconds and grinned at his littermate's comment. "No, but one did just walk up to me," Artaax retorted, prodding her side with his nose obnoxiously. He nipped at her shoulder and was tempted to start a full-on scuffle, but he paused suddenly and splashed around to stand in front of her instead. "Hey! Lookit me, I wanna see somethin'..." he requested, his head tilting as he searched for her eyes. Had they changed colors too? RE: and build a lego house. - Blixen - July 15, 2017 Blixen huffed at his retort, and her brows furrowed as a flash of indignation warmed her nerves centered on the spot that he'd touched. She didn't like being made fun of, especially by her brothers. So she flattened her ears and readied herself for a sharper dig at the pale boy, until all anger abruptly faded at his unusual request. All the hot air she was building left in a great exhale and she stared back at him with wide-eyed wonder. His eyes were... different, somehow. Different than her own, surely, which were a muddy color resembling some amalgamation of blue and brown as they transitioned towards the coppery-hue she would share with her mother. Eventually the skin on her neck began to prickle at being stared at so intensely, "What?" she snapped with a nervous growl. RE: and build a lego house. - Bobby - July 20, 2017 Bobby had been sleeping, but the lack of anybody sleeping beside him woke him up. He yawned loudly, stretched out his long limbs and scuffled his raven black puppy feet on the ground. Then the red chested pup rose and trotted towards the entrance of Hougeda. The sun peeked out from behind a cloud and nipped playfully at his fluffy dark pelt. He absorbed it happily, and let it rejuvenate him. Then he looked around, wondering if anybody wanted to play. He saw a bright red figure near the lake, and assumed it was Blixen. With that in mind he zoomed towards her at top speed. The youngest pup was running so fast in fact, that when he got close enough to his siblings, (he now noted that Artaax was there too) he couldn't stop. Only feet away, the small boy squeaked, Hey guys what's up?!then he slid not at all gracefully into the shallow water. He resurfaced quickly, coughing water and definitely spitting some into the faces of his siblings. He scurried back to shore and shook out his fur. After being a literal fire ball of destruction, Bobby sat down and smiled as if everything was awesome. RE: and build a lego house. - Artaax - July 24, 2017 So, I try to play Artaax like an actual child and I'm sorry
Artaax was ignorant to his sister's discomfort as his gaze bored straight into hers. His hackles prickled along his spine in instinctive response to her irritation, but still he craned his neck to get a good look. Her eyes had not progressed as his had. They were an odd shade, not nearly as vibrant and perfectly identical shades of one another. Which was not saying much, he considered not so generously. Something drove him to not look away in this exchange, and instead he pressed suddenly forward to slap a lick upon her muzzle and offer a happy wag of his tail in an effort to diffuse the situation. The arrival of Bobby delayed his explanation as to why he was so thrilled about eyeballs. He glanced quickly away from his sister to peer into the woods as he heard the crashing sound that spoke of his approach. Artaax stepped protectively in front of her only seconds before Bobby appeared, dashing recklessly towards them. He braced himself for impact, but the only one he received came in the form of a splash of water all across his pallid face. He shook himself, sending droplets flying, as Bobby fixed them both with a happy smile, and Artaax found his temper flaring. "Bobby!" he snapped with a growl, "We was talking! You're so stupid!" His lips peeled back in a snarl as he stepped towards his brother, his annoyance clear as his tail lashed across the air behind. RE: and build a lego house. - Bobby - August 15, 2017 pping Blixen just a tad, and no I love it! Artaax is very childlike and your doing a great job!
Blixen laughed at Bobby's wild entrance, but Artaax was flaming angry. Bobby's ears dropped to his head and a scowl formed across his face. In his eyes, he'd done nothing wrong, it was physic's fault! Now Artaax was bigger than Bobby, and stronger too, but that didn't make Bobby super small and wimpy! He just didn't happen to be as big and strong as his brother. And what he lacked on that end of the spectrum, he made up for in gusto. His tail began to lash behind him as well, and his honey eyes narrowed. Was not stupid! You stupid! That was the best come back he could think of at the moment, but it was good enough for him. He wasn't going to let his big brother push him around! Blixen just stood back, watching them. RE: and build a lego house. - Artaax - August 19, 2017 Bobby met his anger with irritation of his own. The insult hit Artaax right in his puppy pride, and he bristled where he stood. In spite of his annoyance, he glanced at his brother's eyes to try and see what color they were now, but meeting the other boy's gaze just fueled the tension. When he leaped to grab Robin by the scruff and begin the scuffle, it was not with any real intention to hurt the dark-furred boy. He just wanted to prove his point - that Bobby was the stupid one - and his puppy brain told him the only way to do that was to defeat him in a physical confrontation. RE: and build a lego house. - Bobby - August 21, 2017 Bobby watched as his brother began to boil. Bobby sneered, because this is exactly what he'd hoped for. The two boys loved picking on each other, and to see that Artaax was angry was a win for Bobby. It was a win, until Artaax leapt for his scruff. Bobby ducked down to the ground, Artaax missed him by just an inch. Bobby laughed as loud as possible. Ha! You can't catch me loser! He taunted, wriggling his butt in Artaax's face hoping to rile his brother up even more. Oh brothers. RE: and build a lego house. - Artaax - August 21, 2017 Artaax snarled angrily as he missed and Bobby ducked backwards. The taunt made his hackles rise and his brain to empty of thought. Without really thinking much about it, the boy twisted to the side and slapped his paw into the water as hard as he could, sending a rather sizeable splash right at his brother's face. It was meant to throw him off for at least a second, which was all the time Artaax needed to launch a second attack - this time aiming for the bum Bobby was wriggling infuriatingly at him. RE: and build a lego house. - Bobby - August 22, 2017 Unfortunately, Bobbin was not as prepared for this attack as the last. His mouth open to laugh, the water that Artaax sent at him shot right into his mouth, and started a sudden fit of coughing and spitting. As he did so, trying to get the lake water out of him, he felt something grab onto his bum. He squeaked, the surprise shocking water water was left in his throat right out of him. He whipped his fluffy black head around to look at Artaax, and with a look of disbelief and anger her barked as loud as possible in his brother's face. RE: and build a lego house. - Artaax - August 28, 2017 Artaax felt his teeth connect to buttocks, and he growled in triumph in that moment. Locking his jaws tightly on said buttocks, he jerked his head to try and knock his brother off balance. Bobby responded by twisting to face him and barking loud in his ears. Artaax shot him a glare out of the corner of his eye and flinched away, but didn't release his hold. He'd had a great deal of practice at not letting go of anything ever with his games of tug of war with whoever would play with him, so he was prepared for this. Instead of relinquishing his hold, he thrust himself forward into Bobby's flank, again attempting to knock him over. Bobby fell, but that was far from the end of the fight. They tussled for a while until in their exhaustion, it was forgotten what they were fighting about. By the end of it, they were panting and laughing, and Blixen was no where to be found. Tired as they were, they still raced each other back to the den, shouting lame insults and challenging words at each other all the way like the competitive young brothers they were. |
