Don't you believe it'll break you - ZC32 - July 01, 2017 Hunt for Larksong Grotto p.1
As Ceres picked her way further and further from Drageda's territory, she couldn't shake the feeling of judgment that lay heavy on her shoulders. With the exception of the dark brown agouti one, her greeters had seemed less than pleased with her in spite of her best behaviour, and she chewed thoughtfully on that as she headed east. She supposed she could understand caution when it came to strangers, though she thought them overly so. What, she wondered, did they have to hide? She would know soon enough, if she managed to satisfactorily complete her quest. Ceres was getting on but she thought she was quite capable of that, at least. She was completely unfamiliar with these lands, though, as evidenced by having stumbled upon a marsh despite thinking she was backtracking perfectly. Larksong Grotto meant almost nothing to her and did little to orient her on her journey. She would stumble upon it eventually, for a certainty, but would Drageda's swarthy Commander wait that long? She chose not to think on it as she traversed the mess of fallen logs and soaked ground, finding it surprisingly like fields of ice floes back home. She lifted her yellow eyes to the horizon, spotting the glacier and the mountain to the north. Before that there was another mountain, smaller and squatter and charred black in places. There was a fourth dead ahead. Ceres' destination was somewhere between all these mountains. She redirected her course and hopped to the next fallen log, only to stumble off it into the knee-deep water with a shriek. RE: Don't you believe it'll break you - Nikai - July 05, 2017 The wolf before him seemed determined in her destination, but Nikai wasn't going to let it beat him down too quickly. He was out with a mission, and regardless of the outcome it would be smart for him to meet other wolves — who knew it might come in handy for the pack some day. He pressed forward and approached with a friendly chuff, but just as he did she stumbled and fell. Her call of distress was enough for Nikai to be instantly triggered and he pressed forward swiftly. "Are you okay?" he called out, though he made sure that he wasn't going to make the same mistake as her and stayed at the side. Hopefully the water wasn't too sticky or murky and she could easily get out again. @Ceres since it's been a while, in case you hadn't seen this post :)
