Come back to earth, kid - Elwood - August 21, 2017 Anyone want to attempt hunting during the eclipse? :)
He had gotten an early start this morning, before the sun came up. Elwood had ventured outside of Redhawk Caldera on his own, and had managed to bring back a lean hare. It was better than nothing, although the hunter was still disappointed, and certainly wasn't done working. As soon as he delivered the meager meal to his mate, he headed out once more. It was about mid-morning, and as he moved towards the borders, he glanced up at the sky. He had noticed that daylight seemed to be fading, although it wasn't overcast. He didn't think anything of it for the time being, but picked up the pace. He kept an eye out for any of his packmates, hoping that perhaps someone would want to hunt with him just beyond the borders; perhaps a pair of wolves would have more luck than he had on his own. RE: Come back to earth, kid - Lagan - August 23, 2017 DAD!
Lagan's altercation with Towhee, and the whole deal with Burke and Malice had left him pretty upset for the days to follow. Not even the thought of his boyfriend Tapat could cheer him up fully, though it did allow him to smile and laugh a little bit. He'd gone hunting outside of the territory everyday, somedays he'd catch something good and other days he'd only be able to scrap up a mouse or two. One thing that the altercation had helped him with was bringing him to reality. He realized that he did need to stop dreaming so much, and help out more, so that's what he did. Today he found his dad near the borders, going on a hunt no doubt. While he was oblivious to the food shortage at first, he did notice the dark sky today. The boy had a nap and hunting schedule now, the organization uncharacteristic but inspired by the shortage. He knew what time he was going hunting, and around this time of day it shouldn't be this dark. Especially when there weren't that many clouds around. Hey dad, what's up with the sun? You think he's ok?He asked, glancing up at it then back down (stupid but he didn't know, luckily it was a very short glance). RE: Come back to earth, kid - Elwood - August 25, 2017 Almost like he had read Elwood's thoughts, Lagan materialized and approached his father. Elwood grinned at him, his spirits lifting at the sight of his son. Despite the lack of nourishment, Lagan didn't look too worse for wear yet. He was young and athletic and he would be an excellent hunting partner. Before he could give any instructions, though, Lagan asked a question that stopped Elwood in his tracks. Something instinctual told him not to look directly at the sun, but he tilted his chin up and let his gaze scan the surrounding horizon. The light was continuing to grow dimmer all around them, and it filled him with an unfamiliar sense of foreboding. When he glanced down, he saw that his own shadow was disappearing from beneath him. "I'm not sure," Elwood said, frowning. Maybe it would be best to put his hunting plans on hold. "Think we should get out of the open?" he asked, glancing at his son. |
