these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 19, 2014

A pale silhouette hovered over the lands nearing the Whitefish River , it's ghastly colour contrasting against the lively green shades of the shrubs and bushes around her. The female swerved through the trees, her tail held straight behind her with its darker tip slightly tilted upwards, she may be part of the lower tiers in her pack but she was feisty and today she was looking for trouble.

Since she'd joined the pack she had dedicated all spare time to get to know the boundaries and limits to her pack's territory. Today she was patrolling near a narrow river that separated the land between to packs. Silvertip's and the Plateu's.

Cara had always had a fascination for water so it was not rare for her to chose to patrol the edge of the river instead of the forest. She sniffed the air around her, nothing but the smell of damp grass and mud invaded her nostrils. As there was no potential danger in sight she approached the river's shore and lowered her head to take a long drink.

Mind if I join? it was in the wanted list...
As Silvermane was looking around the territory, he was trying to inspect each part of the land, hoping to find out more about the pack. As his large head looked up from sniffing the grass, he saw a white figure drinking from the river, the smell contrasting that to his pack's. He slowly approached the mass of flowing water. Hoping to realize what the wolf was doing here, and if it was or was not in the boundaries. He was new to the pack and did not know where the borders ended. Nevertheless, he spoke:

"Hello? Can you hear me? " he called out to the she-wolf, "Who are you?" he asked demandingly, but still polite. The fur of the wolf was incredible, dark on the top and white underneath, a strange mix.

yes please do! <33

Cold water quenched Cara's thirst, she loved the feeling of water -in all of its forms and expressions- there was no place the yearling loved more than by a large body of water, a creek or even under a soft curtain of rain.

As she continued to fill her mouth and throat with the refreshing liquid a voice, not far from where she stood, demanded her attention. Cara lifted her head, ears pricked and neck fur bristled. A pure white figure made its way towards her calling to her along the way.

Cara's tail flicked irritably as she watched the male walk closer, "I'm not deaf" she replied her eyes quickly examining the other wolf's face and body, as if to size him up. Of course he was larger, more muscled -but then again who wasn't?

Still this didn't stop Cara from replying with an edge of defiance in her voice, she hesitated for a second before revealing her name to the stranger "My name is Cara.. " she barked one of her ears flicking.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 20, 2014

alright!

"Cara is your name? Please tell me, what pack do you belong to? If you are not a lone one" He tried to sound dominative, but there was something about this wolf that made him feel that he needed to sound more... Polite, even if she was feisty or defiant in her words.

His fur bristled, only last night did he stay awake, fighting a tan wolf of his pack. He was very tired, but immediately felt attentive as she spoke her name. He clung onto it, his body felt more need to puff out his chest, he was speaking for his pack too, always should he show a good representation of his pack-mates. Then again, that would just be an excuse to be kinder, unlike his old self.

She could sense the discomfort in the boy's voice, again she fixed her eyes on him and studied his face carefully, the contrast of his nose against his pure white pelt and the long arch between his eyes and his nose. He seemed alright.

Cara waited for him to stop speaking in order to answer, "Silvertip Mountain," she barked clearly then cocked her her back a bit, "And you?" she questioned more out of curiosity than simple courtesy.

She was used to being rough with strangers, remembering that other's intentions were always questionable, she would speak to them crudely and in uniterested one-word sentences thinking it would suffice. Being in a community such as a pack, was now obliging her to change her ways. Pack wolves were sociable beings and now Cara, being part of one, had to learn to do so too.

"Ah, Silvertip mountain?" "I am guessing you are in your borders" he said, regaining part of his confidence. Silvermane was considered handsome, but still a giant of wolves, so why was he shy? This wolf was not the most alluring, but there was something about her fur... He tried to not concentrate on that, instead he walked down closer, but not right at the river. He was hoping to be able to inspect her more closely.

Silvermane looked at the river, which was flowing and sat down. Opening his body and absorbing the nature. Trying to remain calm, meditation, and silence are important if he wanted to kill Baraaskar. Also it was a could time to show that he might be strong, but not stupid. "I am from Blacktail Deer Plateau." he replied to the beautiful wolf.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 21, 2014

Cara lifted her chin and looked the other wolf directly in the eyes, they were exactly in each other's border, a step forward and she'd be a trespasser. Still she held her ground, knowing she had not yet crossed the border, technically.

"So are you" she barked flatly, a tiny glimmer of hostility spreading in her pale eyes. She had nothing against the guy, in fact he seemed like a good fellow, but her instinct got a hold of her and the meaner side of her shined through.

The wolf sat down, but Cara did not, she remained standing one of her long front legs crossed delicately over the other. "Blacktail Deer Plateu" she repeated, not having heard of the name before.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 21, 2014

In all Silvermane's honesty, he found the hostile response actually kind of cute. He found it charming in a way, but what would he know? He was solitary for over a year. Nevertheless, he did not approach. He sensed something about her that would mean either discomfort or conflict if he stepped any closer.

"I am Silvermane, What is your name?" he asked lightly, trying to ease the tension in the air. There was no reason he should be doing this. It was mostly out of boredom, or was it because of her eyes... He snapped back into reality. His ear flicks up, hoping to receive an answer...

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 21, 2014

Cara allowed a deep rumble of laughter escape from her throat, she flicked her tail and met her eyes to the wolf's. "You're not a very good listener are you?" she teased tilting her head slightly to the side.

Then she allowed her face to relax and again she answered, "My name is Cara Penn Moretti, but to just Cara to you" she barked flicking an ear back. Naturally Cara would feel annoyed at the forgetful nature of the other wolf, but his good looks and eyes made up for it.

After names had been established -again- Cara took advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the wolf and his pack. "So tell me how's life on the Plateu?" she asked casually, "Is the grass really greener in the other side?" she sneered, wanting to know if the wolf considered his pack superior to hers.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 21, 2014

He was embarrassed that he forgot the name of this wolf, he was really lost in his thoughts. "I am sorry, I am just a bit... tired." not mentioning why he was awake, as boasting about fights is not a great way to introduce yourself. Or was it?

He was a bit surprised about the the question of the she-wolf. And he decided to reply modestly, his head tilting to a side. "Well, If a wolf spent his life in one side, how would he know about the other?" he joked, but still looked at it morally. He always wondered about different packs, did they have different rules? He shook his head, as that was not what they were speaking of. He looked at the she-wolf politely "But as far as I know, its pretty swell here" he teased, smiling slightly. "Mind if I do?" he stepped closer to river, hoping to be able to talk to her more lightly and so that he could hear her better. His paws got wet as he stepped on the grass, fertilized by the rain during the night.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 21, 2014

he's a gentleman :3
Cara lashed her tail and after a while responded, "That's alright" she barked, giving him a gentle but brief smile. She was not used to making friends easily, she'd always be wary of the intentions hidden behind their eyes and veiled under their smiles..

"Good point" she barked shrugging her shoulders and nodding, she had also imagined life in other lands. Even if she had technically just joined her current pack, her heart longed for more. To say the truth she had only agreed to join because of the protection and companionship a life in a pack offered. She was tired of fending for herself in the cold nights, so she'd figure she'd stay, for now.

Then the male dared to take a step closer not without asking of course, Cara dipped her snout and gave a low "Not at all" murmur, still she did not softened her gaze, still warning the wolf she was well alert of all his movements.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 22, 2014

:3 I think I know why...

As he sat down, Silvermane's tail swished back and forth, in a sort of happiness. "Thank you," he said sincerely. He smiled that she was ok with his sleepiness, he actually thought she would be annoyed by that. Because of her words, he tried his best to stay alert and listen to everything she said. How could he not with that voice of hers? As he looked at her, his golden eyes glinted in the sunlight, reflecting her form, which he could call beautiful.

Silvermane nodded as she spoke, her voice ringing in his head. But this time in a good way. He began to think of how he was taken in by his pack, but only because of his strength. Was it really a family? "Do you like to be in your pack?" he said somberly, yet as he looked at her amber eyes, he was almost lost in them.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 22, 2014

Cara watched the male sit, but still refused to do so herself, she remained standing with her ears pricked and her eyes narrowed at the pale male. When he thanked her she just dipped her nose and continued to stare at him.

Something about the way the wolf stared back at her made her feel uncomfortable, he seemed too interested for her comfort, too engrossed in her words.. she shook the thought away and flicked an ear back.

When he spoke again, this time making a more personal question, Cara eyes widened and for a second she found herself speechless. She knew it was too early to say if she liked her pack or not. Even if she thought some parts of the rules and commands from Jinx weren't that useful she never said it. "I'm at ease, and that's that" she shrugged.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 22, 2014

Tell me if I accidentally meta-game (my character knows things he cant know)

As he started to notice the discomfort in the wolf, he realized he was being rude, and decided he should apologize quickly. "I am sorry, its just... You remind me of someone I used to know." he said, remembering his childhood friend... and crush. His mood lowered as he remembered her death, but still he shook it off. This caught his mind for a second and made him slip of the conversation. Not only that but he had to learn more manners, he was a lone wolf for quite some time. Better fall into better game next time...

"I understand" he replied, snapping awake from the deep thinking. Sadly, because of his jumbled thoughts he forgot most of what she said. But he noticed what she said by the way she shrugged.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 22, 2014

Cara's eyes flickered across his face when he mentioned her resemblance to someone he used to know. Her eyes held a light of intrigue and curiosity though she did not ask who, since he seemed to be afflicted by the sudden memory.

"Are you happy in your pack?" she shot back, raising an eyebrow at the male.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 23, 2014

"I cant really say right now, I... I am thinking of going home." He said slowly, his voice sounding more tired, like he was trying to decide on something that he can not reply to yet. He always imagined to go to his territory, his home. The harsh terrain that he had overcome would mean that he could finally be on the edge of life.

He looked up at the female, thinking of his past pack... all murdered by a different pack. It pained him to remember that that's why he was so... curious of this certain wolf. He forgot the name, but could not remember the image of the past she-wolf that he knew as a pup.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 23, 2014

The yearling blinked at him with a black expression, she could hear the pain that his voice carried. She wondered if the question had touched an old wound in his heart, and had perhaps brought up memories that stung his poor soul.

Then she found it was her turn to apologize -something she didn't do to often-,"Yes I know what you mean..sorry" she murmured quickly shifting her gaze and changing the subject. "So you do not consider you pack your home huh?" she asked with a much friendlier tone, "Where is your home then?" she tilted her head in curiosity.

Cara could feel sympathy for his position, since she was there herself. She had vowed to serve her pack -and she would- the real question was for how long? Would she be able to stay in the pack forever or would she end up stranded again in the future.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 23, 2014

This conversation is going really deep! XD

Silvermane's voice lowered. Much more of a melancholic tinge in his voice. "My home is in the mountains, far away from this place." he began "I can only see them in the time of dawn, when barely any sun lights the place. Showing a silhouette of the mountain line. I can not sleep, so long as I am away from home" he finished. A small part of guilt he felt since the time he joined blacktail deer plateau has been released, but he felt even more longing to go home.

He looked up at the she-wolf, "Do you also want to go home?" he asked. Wondering how the wolf felt about her own pack right now, he hoped he was not the only one to be partly "home-sick". His golden eyes glinted for a second with sadness, but regained their colour as he remembered not to look weak, something his father said before he... Silvermane stopped at the thought, no need to think of that now.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 23, 2014

Cara feels so awkward when things get too personal

Cara's eyes softened and she found herself listening intendly to his story, she could almost feel the pain in his eyes and the mournful timbre in his voice made the compassionate side of her want to touch her nose to his cheek and comfort him.

But that part of Cara was still well hidden under a veil of distrust and vanity, she would more often than not limit herself to show no emotion whatsoever, since she considered things as sadness a vulnerability or in other words a weakness.

She wanted to ask what was stopping him from persuing what he wanted? But knew that question might have an answer she didn't want to hear, and it would lead up to more gushy confessions and awkwardness for the yearling. Then the male shot another question at her, one that left her frozen for a split second while she thought how to respond without reavealing too much.

"My home lies in Silvertip Mountain now" she answered coldly, but couldn't stop herself from blurting out, "There's nothing left for me in my old home anyways" she flicked her ears back in embarrassment.

lol

Silvermane looked down, his body sad and slumped. He nodded at the wolf's words knowingly, but still felt bad that he did not pursue his dream. He did not fear that the wolf would try to attack him, as he felt a sense that she would not take him down, especially since he was larger. He decided to set his thoughts over a drink, so he set his muzzle onto the river and drank from the flowing stream, quenching his thirst. Cold searing liquid removing his thoughts for a second. It was a good distraction while it lasted, but it barely lasted a few seconds. He waited a bit, not knowing what to say. But he replied quickly, not wanting to create an awkward silence. "As soon as your not with your family, everything seems to get harder." he pointed out, expressing his thoughts lightly.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 24, 2014

The sympathy he felt towards the male was quickly replaced with irritation, Cara was not used to being so intimate with wolves she had just met, especially when speaking of such personal topics. She simply didn't like speaking of her family, not to friends and certainly not to strangers. She lashed her tail with displeasure and shifted her gaze to the right.

"Yeah, right.." she barked simply her mind travelling back to the days when she had a family. She had vague images of her mother, a blank face with no name to go along with it. Then there was her father, the only thing she had truly grown to love, and of course her sisters the a pair of devils in a angel's disguise..

She then met his eyes once again, her expression tired and melancholic.."Listen, I'm sorry but I think I have to-" she trailed off, her paws shifting underneath her weight

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Silvermane - May 25, 2014

I think this might be my final post...

"I understand, " he said, his voice fairly sad. "I have... things to do myself" he said, he looked back where he came from, his lumbering body shady and hunched, as if he was thinking of something miserable, he decided to cheer himself up. Dont be sad, how will you claim the heir of the mountain king if your emotional?

His thoughts collided. He sat, his head jumbled with thoughts. He was way to confused, first he had to think of his dead family, than his new pack, and then the story of his heir.

This was bad... Horrible even if he kept his mind in that state. It was causing him to even get a splitting headache, he should better go. "Im sorry, but I must leave. " Silvermane said as he cringed with pain. Knowing that she wanted him to leave anyway.

RE: these streets are yours, you can keep them - Cara - May 25, 2014

thank you for the thread :)

Feelings were highly contagious it would seem, they had managed to end up infected by the melancholy and discomfort. Cara, being a naturally frisky individual now stood with her tail dragging behind her legs and her eyes dull and emotionless.

She felt the toxic taste of pity filling her mouth and decided she had to get away as fast as possible, before she did something crazy such as crying. The feeling of tears building up behind her eyes made her curse under her breath. Crying was a weakness and she would not let herself be weak in front of the male.

"Goodbye" she barked coldly and without even stopping to look at his face one last time she trotted back, following the same path she had used to get to the river. Whether she liked it or not, the male had made her fall into deep thought, making her reevaluate all the choices she had made. With pain and hatred broiling in her stomach she ran faster, allowing a single tear to roll down her cheek.
