second times a charm.. right? - Ferdie Von Pelt - May 20, 2014

@Nightingale I placed her where he ran to with Bazi tell me if that not ok.

Ferdie limped back to where the whole thing started, the one voice he heard actually heard was nightingale, her voice had mimicked his and he smiled and then finally cried as he stared down at the fish that she had dropped that he hadn't seen. Guilt remorse, sadness and a broken heart all the feelings be had blocked and the ones that caused this out burst exploded from him them. He sobbed and lay down on the fish tucking it under his chin taking in her scent. He sobbed until his throat heaved and could no longer catch his breath and there were no more tears in his body.

Carefully he drew himself up and picked up the fish and carried it. He followed her trail having to pause every so often to catch his breath. By the time he found the small, grassy outcropping that hung right over Swiftcurrent Creek, and Nightingale was wasn't siffeling anymore but his eyes would be red rimmed.

He crawled up to Nightingale and lay down the fish before her licked her paws and then began to eat it carefully, offering her a troubled sad smile. he was asking for forgiveness hoping to get it from at least one wolf before his fate was decided by the alhpa. Their situations completely reversed now it was he who waiting to know wither he should lie or die or be banished.

all cool with me :)

And time for some credits!

Lyrics- sound the bugle now, by Bryan Adams

Nightingale turned her head to see Ferdie approaching. She looked down his flank, the wounds and slices raking their story. She stiffened a bit as Ferdie drew close, Bazi's warnings to stay away until they knew more flashing in her head, but relaxed and smiled at him sadly. Even if he did do wrong, she couldn't snap. This was the first wolf that held a gentle paw out to her. The first wolf to give her fresh food and a warm smile.

The first wolf she could remember being nice to her.

She licked Ferdie's chin in an affectionate and soothing manner. They both knew what loomed on the horizon. Once again, death threatened to separate the duo. Cuddling up to his flank, but being as careful as possible as to not make him hurt, she looked up into his eyes before turning to the stars. Softly, she began to sing. A song she felt right at the moment. The crickets stopped their music to listen as the little songbird opened her mouth.

Sound the bugle now
Play it just for me
As the seasons change, remember how I used to be
Now I can't go on
I can't even start
I've got nothing left, just an empty heart
I'm a soldier, wounded so I must give up the fight
There's nothing more for me, lead me away
Or leave me lying here

Sound the bugle now
Tell them I don't care
There's not a road I know, that leads to anywhere
Without a light I fear that I will stumble in the dark
Lay right down and decide not to go on...

All of a sudden, Nightingale seemed to sing with more purpose than before, more effort.

Then from on high, somewhere in the distance
There's a voice that calls, 'Remember who you are!
'If you lose yourself, your courage soon will follow
'So be strong tonight
'Remember who you are'

Yeah, you're a soldier now
Fighting in a battle
To be free once more
Yeah, that's worth fighting for!

She looked back at Ferdie and licked his bloody flank, not even caring the salty taste that tinged her tongue. Her eyes began to water again as she worried for what tomorrow will bring.

RE: second times a charm.. right? - Ferdie Von Pelt - May 20, 2014

Ferdie Von Pelt hadn't wanted to sing for a long time now, it felt like a life time since he last sang. The last time he had sang; Bazi had found him, young and innocent Bazi, he felt in part he had helped to ruin that of her; in truth though she had changed as much as he had, they were no longer on the same path and had grown apart so far they could hardly recognize each other,

After finishing his fish and nuzzling Nightingale tenderly he howled a song, though he could not raise his head and sing to the heavens as he loved to do, he wanted to sing to @bazi in hopes she'd hear his song and that he was begging for a forgiveness that may never come,

His voice lilted upwards and he closed his eyes engrossing himself in his song.

Everywhere I turn, I hurt someone
But there's nothing I can say
to change the things I've done
I'd do anything within my power
I'd give everything I've got
But the path I seek is hidden
from me now

Brother Wolf, I let you down
You trusted me, believed in me
and I let you down
Of all the things I hid from you
I cannot hide the shame
And I pray someone, something will
come, to take away the pain

There's no way out of this dark place
No hope, no future
I know I can't be free
But I can't see another way
I can't face another day

RE: second times a charm.. right? - Nightingale - May 21, 2014

Nightingale smiled at Ferdie's song and closed her eyes as he listened. It was a song of sorrow and regret, but also one of forgiveness.

She hadn't realized the energy it took for her to stay up this late. As soon as she had closed we eyes, the mixture of exhaustion and Ferdie by her side allowed her to sleep.

She dreamt of Ferdie and Jace being fine, with no problems or worries to speak of.

RE: second times a charm.. right? - Bazi - May 21, 2014

Hi guys! :) Posting a response to the howl, but Bazi is not actually in this thread. This will be my only post.

The wind carried Ferdie's mournful song across Swiftcurrent Creek. Bazi angled her head to listen, but closed her ears to the sound abruptly when the source became apparent. She lacked the self-insight to know what was going on beyond the cloud of anger that pressed against the walls of her skull - all the Beta knew was that Ferdie had done something abhorrent, and it was right for him to pay the price. Those were the rules of the pack and Bazi would follow them the expense of all other feelings.

Had she been a wiser wolf, she might have considered that things were not so black and white. That Ferdie had made a mistake, and that Jace was good to recognize that and forgive him. But she wasn't a wise wolf. There were actions, and there were consequences - and when the consequence was bloodshed, it didn't matter with the original motivation had been.

The den she had shared with Ferdie loomed up a head. It would smell like him, she thought, and abruptly turned tail. There were other places - better places - to sleep.

Nuzzleing Nightingale fondly Ferdie shifted very slowly into a standing position and moved toward Jace and Fox, his fate awaited him
