rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Witchbaby - November 01, 2017 the starlet's never lived by the ocean and though the plateau is removed from the shore at times she watches the sea and feels it's reaching out to swallow her up, up, an endless-suffocating blue horizon. maybe once upon a time she would have danced with the idea of infinity but now it feels crushing to think of. infinity was her and kinkajuú's and now the beautiful angel has absconded with witchbaby's future. ha! that's the old witchbaby speaking, hiding in the crevasse of her heart. new wb sees the future as something else: not infinite, not ephermal, but a spark-pop day-by-day, flashes of momentous breaths between hours, something to catch and hold and not think about. and after all things are good: she's got bhediyon and she's got weetzie and the world is big. big enough for wb without kinkajuú. her treacherous feet try to carry her back to the firefly field - no, she demands, and steers herself east, pink eyes alight at the glacier's site. oh and weetzie would kill her for trying to climb across that - but maybe, maybe. under her breath she sings, skirting the edges of the treacherously slippery surface, a blip of firehot red against the stark white snow around. RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Hux - November 04, 2017 He wasn't the best judge of distance, but he did have a vague idea of where he was and how far he had left to travel. The journey home had so far been a long one, but he was only halfway there and he loathed the idea of walking just as far as he had already done. Anxiety ate away at him like acid, and the sooner he could get home and confront Thuringwethil, the better. He was in for a scolding - or possibly getting kicked out. The snowy Kru just wanted to get it all over with. Attempts at distraction were futile and for once he wished he had some company. It was easier to keep his mind quiet while in the presence of others; he was definitely not the best conversationalist, but talking would surely be better than remaining alone with these nagging thoughts of doom, and this crippling nervousness. He was trotting with his eyes on his front paws, and when he next looked up to ensure that he was walking a straight path, a red flash caught his eye, stark amidst the sprawling white. A smaller wolf, by the looks of it, and probably female (though he had not yet caught the canine's scent.) Feeling somewhat relieved, Hux broke into a run without further thought, tail wagging as he called out to her. "Hey!" RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Witchbaby - November 04, 2017 just a step, nothing so dangerous as all that - she giggles to herself, picturing the cut of weetzie's frown should he see this! - the paws of her dainty red feet slip against the ice but she keeps standing. ah, see, it isn't so hard - just glide forward a little, just dance across the ice -- when the foreign cry of another takes her by surprise. a yelp escapes her as the starlet trips over her own paws, scrabbling against the ice for purchase that doesn't come until her side meets glacier quickly-unpleasantly with a snapped crkk. "oh oh," wb says, tilted into a wince, "give a girl a li'l warnin' next time." she slips hazardously, trying to get on top of her paws, and it's clear her coat's not the only red on the ice, her leg torn by a hard edge. with a shaking voice she calls, grin touched by anxiety, "gimme a paw, mr. surprise-her!" RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Hux - November 07, 2017 He grimaces as he watches her slip. Careful to watch his own steps, Hux hurries toward her, his paws slipping and sliding along the slippery surface. But he is too late, and her blood spills upon the ice. Her words are clever and very cute, almost causing a smile to break the horrified look on his face. I'm so sorry, sweetie! he calls as he reaches her, knowing her injury is entirely his fault. He reaches to attempt to plant an apologetic lick upon her cheek, then turns his attention to her torn flesh. I-I'm a healer... Well, maybe an aspiring one, but! he shakes his head at himself. Can I have a look? he asks gently, not sure what her reaction will be. She could possibly be very angry with him and want him to get the hell away from her. RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Witchbaby - November 07, 2017 well, the guy's a little touchy but she supposes she can't blame him - and it ain't the sort of touchy that gives her the creeps like that weird vampire guy, though she could do without the sweetie. "he-ey," wb says, allowing the lick with a strained toothy grin, "ain't so reassurin' to mention the aspirin' part, but by all means." the witch-girl winces, nudging him towards the edge of the ice bank. "how 'bout we got off this glacier, eh?" she says, "an then you can do whatever healer-y things you got up your sleeve." RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Hux - November 07, 2017 Okay, he says, trying to keep his tone flat, void of the weakness that he has begun to feel. She seemed a bit blunt, already pointing out the faults in his words. Squaring his shoulders, he walks alongside her, hoping to steady her should she slip again, or wobble on the ice due to her injury. The ice gives way to actual earth and he wonders why either of them had thought to walk on the glacier in the first place. But it doesn't matter anymore. er, you can lay down if you want, he grunts, still feeling a bit dejected and sad but ready to help her nevertheless. RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Witchbaby - November 07, 2017 somethin' in the guy's tone goes flat and the witch flashes a frown, leaning into him as they make their way off the ice. she's already throwing herself on the ground with dramatic flair when he opens his mouth to invite her, and she makes a soft half-giggle, wriggling so he can access her injured leg with ease. "thank you, darlin'," the starlet croons, trying to reassure him - less because it's the right thing to do and more because the only thing that seems worse than an inexperienced healer is an inexperienced healer who's down on himself. "how bad's it look, doc? will i walk again?" she asks, almost playfully, voice less strained now that she's off the glacier, no longer in immediate danger - and it isn't that deep though it stings a bitch. RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Hux - November 19, 2017 omg hux is such a pansy lmao
Hux finds her robust and bold personality to be somewhat unsettling. He does not mind one bit when she calls him "darlin'," although he is sure that it's a term of endearment she'd offer anyone in situations like these. She has already thrown herself to the ground before he can finish asking her to do so. The tall wolf lowers his ears whilst flashing a nervous and forced grin, planting his front paws beside her leg to have a look. The wound is not terrible - more a nasty scrape than anything else, with no skin torn open. But he sees the bloody slashes peaking through that pretty fur of hers, and meets her striking eyes to relay his plan of action. I'm gonna grab some water to clean you up, he explains gently. Then uh, I'll put some Calendula tincture on the open wound. He brought his first aid pack with him wherever he went, so the tincture is ready to go. But the water... he will need to find some. Gonna go get some water. Be right back. He turns away from her and sprints into the forest, almost expecting her to run off while he is away. Regardless, he scents brackish water, and although it takes him several minutes to track it down, his paws eventually bring him to a tiny stream, likely winding its way into the tributaries which inevitably join the ocean. He takes a cup from his pack ( scavenged from a human campsite many months ago), and makes his way back towards the young hybrid - finding that she hasn't left, after all. Ready? This might sting a little, he warns. Saltwater can be painful when used on open wounds, but it cleanses even better than freshwater does. Sorry, he adds with another sheepish smile. RE: rule number one is that you gotta have fun - Witchbaby - November 23, 2017 sorry short!! :(
well if nothing else the man has a plan, and wb relaxes, glad he isn't really gonna leave her to fester any more'n she has to. calendula tincture she's never heard of but she's an actress, not a healer, and her tail waves an easy assent as the boy sprints off for water. left alone she reclines, singing softly under her breath, a pretty picture of a damsel in distress even if by consent. the witch grows bored quick but does not move (she's nicked herself plenty but this one does sting she'll admit), and settles for slowly turning in place, rolling herself onto her back in time for the medic man to return. she extends her arm to him, still belly-up, and giggles girlishly pitched-high. "go right ahead, sailor," wb tells him, and patiently lets him have his medical way with her. |
