a dandy dreamed what means to die - Hux - November 07, 2017

@Durnehviir i had a whole post typed up and my computer died :0 so this one is a lot shorter. my apologies!

What appeared to be a sprawling field of yellowing grass draws abruptly up to the ocean, dropping many, many feet downward. Oddly enough, Hux is not afraid of heights, bounding right up to the edge. He plants his large paws firmly in the cold earth, wiggling a little before he finds his way to his belly. His paws dangle over the ledge, followed by his snout as he peers downward with perked ears. The scent of water and brine fills his nostrils, the galloping waves creating a fine mist that stings his eyes, causing them to water. He realizes with a rush of adrenaline and a thudding heart that certain death is directly ahead of him and the thrill of it lifts his hackles in jagged ridges along the nape of his neck.

One ear flickers thoughtfully. Is death not always directly ahead of him? Ahead of everyone? It's a sobering train of thought which fires off in all directions in his mind as he gazes at the sea.

RE: a dandy dreamed what means to die - Durnehviir - November 19, 2017

So sorry for this horrendous delay.  :(

Ravensblood's wolves had been quiet, and they had yet to come together as a pack to claim. Durnehviir had spent most of her time within the forest, patrolling and stocking caches or, in rarer times, seeking comfort in Constantine's presence. Her feelings toward the swarthy leader continued to grow despite some uncertainties, but she was trying hard to set her woes aside.

In an effort to move on from her envy regarding Aria and the companionship she had with the dark-pelted Mayfair, Durnehviir had scoured the territory for any sign of her. She figured that, if she reached out to build a kinship with the other wolfess, she might be able to be rid of her worries on the matter. Her search brought her to where she assumed Aria to den, and she was surprised (and glad) to find her scent faded from their home.

In the days following, she had not found the courage to speak to Constantine of the matter. She couldn't help but wonder if he'd perhaps informed the pallid girl of Durnehviir's jealousy, and although part of her was glad to be free of envy's grip on her, she'd been consumed by guilt and fear that this latest departure was entirely her fault. Venturing beyond the borders, the fiery wolfess found herself heading North toward the coast with no real destination in mind; she hadto pull herself together.

She lifted her head to look out briefly over the vast sea and took to meandering along the cliffside, careful not to stray too close to the edge. Ahead of her, an alabaster figure loped toward the cliffside - his stride so bold that she instantly worried that he might jump, and Durnehviir's heart rose to reside in her throat and prevent her from calling out. He did not leap, however, but instead slumped down to dangle his paws over the edge, and the crimson beauty quickened her pace as she announced her presence with a sharp woof.
