everything is a potato or not a potato - Keoni - November 17, 2017

She'd been scarce around the territory, little more than a ghost. She'd attempted to learn on her own what herbs might be useful, and in the end simply stockpiled a huge amount of greenery, scouting out Kryton's herb den and finding anything that might look similar. She had been, somewhat, successful, but with little idea on their use, and about half the herbs simply being odd grasses or vegetation with no purpose, she was frustrated beyond belief.

She had taken far too long to notice the newcomer, so lost was she in her own desperate work. It was the thought that the woman; who's scent seemed strangely vacant from much of the territory, might have some knowledge about her desired trade that had her seek the woman out, even if it was a desperate reach. She crouched before the woman's den now, offering a toneless bark to see if she might creep out from within, tail waving and ears folded back against her skull.
For @Noma, this took so long because I'm horrible

It isn’t often you won’t find Noma at the den. While she has been recovering and gaining weight, she’s still thin. Her fur is thin. Winter isn’t going to be easy for her. She’d been thin to begin with, having once been recovering from an absence from Easthollow before, then traveling with Grayday slowed the process a little down, up until she’d left him entirely and since then, gradually declining until Wardruna had found her. She’d likely been days away from perishing if he hadn’t stepped in and even now she struggles with it.

The sound outside of the den startles her, having been halfway asleep when she’d approached. She sits upright instantly, taking a moment to adjust to her surroundings, and slowly standing to exit the den. Noma stares at her for a moment, at first not having a clue who she is, but there’s something familiar about her she can’t place. It’s been so long but she doesn’t—can’t—pry to figure it out. Her ears cup forward and she stands awkwardly by the mouth of the den, waiting for her to announce why she’s here.

The woman appears; a thin, patchwork thing that is as silent as she is. Her ears flick forward, for the briefest of moments she seems almost familiar. The thought vanishes as quickly as it came, for surely she would remember a woman like this. Keoni tries for a smile, tail tapping on the ground behind her in an effort to prove she is friendly. She hums a note in her throat, canting her head and questioning just who the woman is and why she's here.

The girl doesn’t say anything and Noma nervously looks in both directions. She does respond by her presence though, with a slight tilt of her head and she opens her mouth to say something but all the words rush away. She clears her throat a beat later, though, and finally offers something. “I’m Noma,” she says, brows weighing down a moment. It is much colder out in the open and she shivers a little, but she does her best to stifle it in the face of new company.
