Calling Silvermane - Majesty - May 24, 2014

This is the pledge thread for Silvermane, so that he can pledge to be part of Majesty's pack.

Majesty had found it quite difficult to climb all the way up this damnable rock, but the view that night was spectacular, and quite worth it. Besides, he was too happy to really care. He was finally getting another wolf to pledge their allegiance to himself and his new pack. He took a breath of fresh, chilled, night air, staring up at the stars. He found Sirius among them and thanked the Dog Star profusely. He was one step closer to his goal.

With a feeling of jubilance, the chocolate-brown male tilted his head back and let out a tremendous howl, calling out to Silvermane. He hoped the male would come and join him on the cliff tonight. He really wanted to get the pledge over with, so that they could all begin their next step. He still needed confirmation from two other wolves, but still - he could almost smell the spray of the sea already…

RE: Calling Silvermane - Silvermane - May 24, 2014

This was set after the mountain adventure thing, right?

Silvermane's ears ringed, as he was woken during the night as he heard his name being called, echoing throughout the plains. He looked up to see Majesty who was placed on a rocky cliff, Majesty was a large yet kind wolf that he respected, especially for the wolf's point of view. He walked closer to the edge, and decided to run up. So that he may speak to him without shouting. "Would you mind if I come up?" he asked lightly, but still awaiting permission. He placed his paws against the rockbed and gave a light chuff, happy to see him again after the time on the mountains, recalling the strange adventure. Still, he tried not to sound too friendly and placed his voice down to a respectful and submissive voice, remembering that Majesty would be his Alpha.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Majesty - May 24, 2014

Yes, we are to assume that this thread takes place after the mountain adventure.

Majesty immediately caught on to the fact that Silvermane was keeping himself below him on the "chain of command". He could tell by the way the silvery-white male spoke to him, his voice overly respectful, and his normally joyous nature toned down. He sighed. This was not what he wanted at all from his subordinates - even if they were below him. He padded closer to the male and gave him a kind smile.

"Please, friend," he began, his deep voice rumbling quietly and kindly from his chest. "There is no need to lower yourself while you speak to me. You may be below me in rank, but I hold you in high respect. In my pack, all wolves must earn respect. And once earned, the respect they have earned will mean more to me than rank. Of course, I will try to place those of high respect higher in the rank, but..." He shook himself. He was getting off topic.

"What I'm trying to say is - do not be afraid to truly speak your mind with me. And do not try to make yourself smaller in my eyes. You are a wolf that I would be glad to have among my ranks. Be proud of that. And stand tall. Don't be rude about it. Understand me: your respect must continuously be earned by committing actions worthy of it. So having my respect does not mean you can then go bossing others around and whatnot. Do you understand?"

Silvermane smiled at the wolf's kind nature, and he was happy that Majesty was open towards him, relieving him of the though that he may not talk to him as a friend no more. Silvermane quickly climbed the steep path, as he spent years in territories where he had to abide to these things on mountain sides. It was not a hard place, and he felt at ease that it was a similar surroundings as his home. He placed himself near the to-be Alpha, grateful that he may pledge to the new pack.

"I understand, " he said, his tone getting lighter than before. Happy that his friend was not a leader as those of other packs. Silvermane felt that his pack, once established will grow under Majesty's open-mindedness, but would he be there to see it all? "How is it, to be creating a new pack?" he asked, he always wondered how it would be to be the Alpha, as he was thinking that one day, once he could go back home and claim his throne as mountain king again. But that moment is far ahead of him, now all he could think of was being in a new place. If he was accepted. Silvermane looked out, at the beautiful view of the night. His mane reflecting the moonlight. His voice was much lower after the time in the mountains, as though he aged abit. But that did not keep him from his happy self.

"How does it feel…?" Majesty repeated, looking to the stars. He thought about it for a moment. "I'm not really sure I can give you a clear answer. It's been… a whirlwind of activity for me, going from place to place, trying to get approval here and someone's pledge there. But even as I'm working hard, my heart feels lighter than it has in a year."

He sighed. "In my birth pack, when my parents died, the position of Alpha was left open. I wanted the position, but so did many other males and females in my pack, and I am not the sort to solve my problems by fighting. So, I left and came here to start my own pack. I've been working so hard for it for the past few months that every night I go to sleep exhausted. But it is well worth it, I think."

He cleared his throat, and then faced Silvermane. "Speaking of which, I think it is high time we got this pledge out of the way. So, do you, Silvermane, pledge to be a part of my pack, and allow me to lead you as your Alpha?" At this, Majesty waited expectantly for his new friend's reply.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Silvermane - May 24, 2014

Why does everything I make as a thread become very deep and insightful XD

He nodded solemnly at the wolf's words, as he held sympathy. Not only did they both have their parents dead, but he was also confused too. Silvermane could not decide whether he should have stayed at his home, the mountain and reclaim his heir as the mountain king, or come back here. He realized he was not strong enough, not yet and that he would come back once he was stronger.

His thoughts vanished as the to-be Alpha asked him of the pledge, he was as excited as a wolf which was in elk-mating-grounds. Not that he was hungry, of course. But the adrenaline shot was similar, nevertheless he tried to stay calm. "I, Silvermane, pledge to be part of your new pack, and will follow you (no matter the cause or deed) as my Alpha." he said, his voice low and serious. Yet happiness could be heard in his voice.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Majesty - May 24, 2014

Yay for things being deep and insightful! And yay for me using every excuse I can to be able to use this OOC thing now that I know how to freaking do it! LOL!

Majesty felt relief wash over him at Silvermane's words. His dream was becoming clearer and clearer every moment. He stood a bit taller now. His friend's pledge gave him new hop for his future - and for the future of a new pack on an island to the west. He cleared his throat again and continued.

"Good. Thank you." He gave a bow. "And I will do all I can to be an Alpha worthy of respect. Now I must ask you: What would you, Silvermane, bring to the pack if I allowed you to join? Are you a hunter, a healer? A warrior, perhaps? What skills can you offer me in return for a place among the pack?" Majesty hardly recognized his own voice he was so serious. He nearly burst into a fit of giggles, which would have been highly out of character for him.

His eyes twinkled as he looked at his friend, and, though he kept his posture serious, he gave a subtle wink to the white wolf.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Silvermane - May 24, 2014

your lucky you had someone tell you XD I had to learn how the hard way! :)

Hearing his friend talk so serious made Silvermane hold back a chuckle, he was happy that Majesty was fitting, he was happy to see his friend smile. Nothing could eliminate personalities. He knew that, and he winked back as he bowed down, "I am an excellent hunter and warrior, but I know little to nothing about herbs. Since I can only recall one chewable plant my grandfather gave me." he said, trying not to giggle "I am a very good climber, since I am a mountain wolf. And I would be useful to go far distances" he said, continueing his uses. Trying not to brag about himself too much. "Sadly, I, myself am not in greatest form. As my shoulder has been ripped and may possibly never recover if I am not to rest" trying to remind him of his uncapability to run at his full potential.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Majesty - May 24, 2014

Majesty listened carefully as Silvermane explained his strengths and weaknesses. When the white wolf was done, he said, "You might make a good Outrider, based on what you have told me. Though, if your shoulder is torn, you might want to wait a while before you start on that. It might seem a little silly to have an Outrider for a pack on an island, but it's not as though we'll never go back to the mainland. We may have to go back often. Who knows?"

He looked past Silvermane, to the west. "Now that you've made your pledge, would you like to come with me to the island, to see where your new home will be?" He was anxious to go back, himself. He longed to smell the sea once more, and feel sand beneath his paws. He couldn't wait.

RE: Calling Silvermane - Silvermane - May 24, 2014

He nodded, even though being a outrider did not fall under all of his skills, he would be sure happy to travel. Plus, he could have more than one trade if he was good enough. Nevertheless, he was happy to be given a place, and extremely anxious to see the new place he would reside in, happiness filling him over the brin.

"I cannot wait to arrive!" he said, hoping that they could go immediately. It was one thing to be on a island, it was another to live on one! He had never been on the seaside, as he never even saw one. His grandfather told him about the creatures which reside there, strange and marvelous. He could not wait to explore the place, anxious to sniff out every bit of his to-be home. "I will follow you, Alpha" he smiled, the new rank of his friend made Silvermane giggle a bit, not in disrespect, but because Silvermane was drunk on his own joy. Yet he was ashamed that he acted too personal, perhaps because it was now that he was talking to his Alpha?

RE: Calling Silvermane - Majesty - May 24, 2014

I'll do this one last post and then request to have in archived. Yay! And then I'll set up the exploring the island post in a bit, though now I'll have two exploring the island posts open… Would you mind jumping in on the one I already have open? That way you can also meet Naya, who is another wolf that is going to join. I'll PM you the details.

Majesty smiled at Silvermane's excitement, hardly able to contain his own. He took a deep breath as he led his soon-to-be pack-mate down the cliff. "Be prepared," he called to the male over his shoulder. "We're going at night, so the water might be cold. We have to cross a sandbar to get to the island, and that will require getting a little wet."

He skittered down the rest of the way, landing heavily on his paws in the grass. He waited for Silvermane to follow, and then led the way west. They were heading to the sea - finally. And his pack was falling into place, one piece at a time. Majesty smiled contentedly. He looked up at the Dog Star, Sirius, silently thanking his guardian for helping him through this long process…

Exit Majesty

RE: Calling Silvermane - Silvermane - May 24, 2014

Alright, Im so happy to be in this new pack XD

Silvermane jumped after the wolf, hoping to keep up. He would not mind the water, surely it could not be as bad as the water he bathed in during winter. He almost skipped the entire way, a unusual selection of walking for Silvermane. But his content was unable to comprehend. "Ah, a little midnight dip wouldn't hurt" he laughed, his body feeling very light, strange for his size was that of a giant.

Silvermane out!
