Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 13, 2018 specifically looking for @Aries but I suppose anyone is welcome.
He didn't know why he had come back so close. So close to the dark forest that sheltered the pack with borders that signified the hell beasts within. But he had done it and not only that but as he reached the edge of the borders near the lake, he lifted a leg and pissed upon the ground a mere few feet away as if to give a small "fuck you" to the pack that had started all his problems. Before he could be caught doing so he bolted until the lake was in sight and sat by the water's edge. He stared down at the ice scraping at the surface with his claws. His reflection could be seen and he stared at himself, cringing. The look in his electric blue eyes was different. He looked determined but so tired and weary like if just one more negative thing happened to worsen his life he'd give up entirely. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - January 14, 2018 Vague post is vague because I don't know how the Olive thread is gonna go yet lol
With the curious events of yesterday and encountering his mother, the Reaper had decided to remain mostly close to Blackfeather. He had departed once more in the morning to do some hunting in the young hours of the day, but now he was content to patrol the bloody borders of which he resided within. His stalking was much the same as it usually was as his large paws moved swiftly through the snow, elegant yet muscular form slinking through the trees like the elongated shadows that masked the land in darkness. There was a certain still silence in the Woods, one he had grown used to - most of his life had been spent inside the confines of the land and yet it grasped a certain familiarity.
While passing through one particular section along the edge of Blackfeather's domain, his nostrils picked up a scent. It seemed distantly familiar but at the same time he passed it off as nothing, perhaps he and this stranger had simply met in passing - after all, he could not care to commit most to memory. What irked him, however, was the stench of piss near their borders. Of course, the dark wolves had marked it themselves, but this scent was not one of their own. Sharp eyes narrowing, his icy blue orbs scanned the area surrounding and he set out to follow this scent. When he drew close toward the lake at last, Aries watched silently for a few heartbeats, observing and gaining what information he could from both the stance of the stranger and his scent. Something screamed at him and begged for him to remember, but most memories from his youth had been shoved aside as he took on his new life within the shadows. Finally, the youngster stepped forward from his hidden spot and his darkened gaze fell upon this wolf of inky hues. "I caught your scent near the Woods. What were you doing there?" He commanded, and there was no ounce of amusement within his words. His voice was much deeper than in his younger days, and likely anyone he knew from those times would not recognise it now. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 14, 2018 Continuing to stare into the icy reflection and ponder over his thoughts, he hadn't heard Aries's approach. When the boy spoke up he jumped and tensed up but didn't turn around quite yet. The wolf had said "the woods" and Dakarai knew this was a blackfeather wolf. The last thing he wanted was to show fear in front of one of those wretches. "I had to piss and rather than piss on myself I let it loose by the already foul borders of that pack" he responded evenly and thus began to turn around in the case that his words offended the wolf enough to cause an attack. When he saw the boy his heart stuttered and he gauked quite openly. There before him grown up and quite bulkier, covered in the stench of blackfeather woods was his son. Unsure what to say or do first he simply stared in shocked silence before speaking "My son is a Blackfeather. I...I suppose I can't blame you, you don't know that your new pack is the reason trouble started for me and your mother." He finally spoke his voice trembling with both bitterness and a sad sort of relief. At least he was alive, his boy Aries was alive. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - January 14, 2018 There was a sort of satisfaction that bubbled up inside his chest when the dark male tensed at his presence, almost refusing to turn his head - it was a little thing, but there was something so fulfilling about knowing that his sudden approach had startled the stranger. A slight quirk of the Reaper's blackened lips displayed the small smirk that had grown on his face, but it almost dropped at the words next spoken.
His ashen tail began to lash behind him, but his features remained cool - as cool even as the iced orbs of his eyes, or the snow that painted the ground white. "Well with the lack of respect you seem to have, perhaps you should have pissed on yourself." His retort was spoken bluntly, as if that was obvious, though his sharp gaze remained focused onto the male. It enraged him enough that the wolf before him would dare to do something so disrespectful, but to hear the supposed justification for the action, a spark of anger was ignited within the youth's chest. Then at last the stranger turned to face him, and a look of shock seemed to wash over his face. A single brow raised, Aries waited for his response, undetered by the gawking male. His words, however, caused the boy to take a step back. My son is a Blackfeather. This... this was his father? He should have known. The eyes were unmistakable - perhaps it was true his memory of his father's coat was not well kept but the eyes were one thing the son and father had in common. The Svartell child stared at Dakarai, unblinking as he listened to the words. Aha. His father was disappointed in him too, was he? It was not a rare opinion, he supposed - his sister had already disowned him. He took a moment to take in what he could from this situation - he was not overly shocked to have discovered Dakarai, for he was sure the man had still been in the Teekon, but still there was almost hesitation within his stance. The words that danced on his tongue, soon releasing from his maw, however, were confident. He knew what he was saying. "Whatever happened between you and Blackfeather is not of my concern. I am one of them, whether you support my decision or not." "Everyone changes, father, but don't you see? I left because I did not belong. I knew from the moment I drew blood from Hydra. Much worse things would have happened if I had stayed." There was some sort of unsightly thing inside him that drove him to do terrible things that would likely be deemed horrific by his father, but he had grown to accept it. "I was brought to Blackfeather and that is where I belong. I found my place." RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 14, 2018 The coldly spoken retort made him simply quirk an eyebrow but nothing was given in response except the slightest twitching upturn of his lips into a smile. As soon as it formed it fell again though and he resumed his calm facade. Aries reminded him of how he had been when he was young before he fell in love with oxsana and felt the start of a life that could be had without darkness. It was a foolish notion after all and the small time of light had been torn away when his old Alpha had murdered oxsana and his boys. Dakarai knew all too well the darkness that plagued the Svartell men but he was able to battle the darkness with the thoughts of his family. Aries continued on speaking about how he was one with blackfeather, he never belonged with them in Moonspear, how he had found his place. The one thing that struck him was how he said "whether you support my decision or not". After letting the boy finish be remained silent for a moment before sighing and slowly sitting down. "No...I suppose a Svartell doesn't belong with the likes of Moonspear. Unfortunately it was our only option at the time...if we had travelled any longer you and Cassi would have perished." He began in a cautious manner trying to work out the inner war within his heart. "I was honestly proud when you defended yourself from Hydra. Those girls liked to torment both you and Cassiopeia, I would have liked to do something about it but Amekaze and Charon probably would have defended their children.." he grumbled the last part, obviously disagreeing with that. Finally he lifted his gaze to his son's,studying the blue of them that was only faintly less vivid than his own. "I am not against your decision. You see...after I met your mother and promised to find her again, I ended up at Blackfeather. I joined and swore myself to the dark master. I knew what would happen if I left. But after a few weeks, even though I wasn't exactly unhappy there, I couldn't stop thinking of your mother and I left. I was almost stopped but I fought my way out" he explained slowly his voice going rough as he remembered the beginning of their story. He chuckled humorously and looked away in the direction that blackfeather lay "I didn't bother them again until I had amnesia from a hunt and your mother thought it was a good idea to jog my brain by trespassing onto blackfeather territory. We got away again with injuries but Nemesis thought that wasn't enough. She tracked us to teaghlaigh and almost started a war, but it was avoided. In turn we got thrown out just weeks after you three were born" Dakarai didn't honestly know if Aries was listening nor did he care. The words spilled out quickly and he couldn't have stopped them if he tried. "I guess what I meant to say was...if I hadn't met your mother and had ended up here anyway, i probably would have stayed. The Svartell family men always have this darkness that plagues them like a shadow. My darkness showed in the form of foolish decisions and a shitty life as consequence. Yours...has apparently shown itself in a dark personality. But either way the best place for darkness would be Blackfeather. So if they treat you well and you are...happy there, then so be it." He finished on that note and while it pained him to admit it, he couldn't blame his son for wanting to be here where he could be himself instead of hiding his darkness and troubles. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - January 15, 2018 The young Svartell had been expecting instant rejection, for his intentions had been ill since his early days and now to hear he was residing in the pack that had indeed once caused so many issues for his family, surely his father would have cast him away. But he did not. In another circumstance, perhaps he would not have listened - would not have cared, but this was his history. Primarily his father's, but if not for these events it was likely he would not even be on this world. So the Reaper lowered himself onto his haunches, ashen ears slanted forward as he waited and listened and took in this information he had been too young to ever know.
At the time, when Aries had arrogantly drawn blood from the wolfess he had so despised, he had been scolded. Told sternly he must learn his place and that to do what he did to a packmate (much less one higher in status) was wrong, unethical, yet here his father was praising him and claiming that he had been proud of the boy for his actions. It was almost funny. "Cassiopeia did not wish to see me again after her discovery of my pledge to Blackfeather." It was not an inquiry, simply a statement - for the dark coated girl seemed to be disgusted with him. She did not like the beast inside of his chest - was it her lack of inner darkness that caused her to not understand? After the older man had finished his tale, Aries remained silent for a moment. So his father had been one to reside temporarily in the Woods? In turn, had it been almost fate that he might too end up there one day? For it that had been the case, it was true. He was one of them. A monster, perhaps, but weren't they all? Not everyone was perfect, him much less so. The mention of his birth, alongside his littermates, had his icy eyes sparkle with slight curiousity. "So Sirius was there." He muttered, mostly to himself - he had known the reasons for the boy to be left behind, but not the location. Teaghlaigh. Was that place still around? "The Svartell family men always have this darkness that plagues them like a shadow." Did this mean he was destined to contain this thing inside him, even from birth? It was true he knew nothing different, only that he was not like most. His father mentioned their differences when it came to the form of which their darkness came to them, and Aries' seemed rather more severe. While Dakarai may be prone to foolish desicions, the Reaper himself was a beast. He was the beast inside himself. And he knew this. "I have done bad things, father." Not that he cared, but he threw it out as an afterthought, head tilting ever so slightly. He gave a slight nod in silent acceptance of his father's words. His father did not turn him away. A quiet air settled between them for a few heartbeats, until a question sprung to mind. "You do not smell of Moonspear anymore. Did you leave?" RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 15, 2018 Despite what he had thought would happen, Aries lowered himself to the ground and actually listened. This made Dakarai happy and he would have smiled if this were not such a tense and unstable sort of reunion. The first words out of his son's mouth were about his sister and Dakarai blinked once in surprise. Cassiopeia was here? For how long? Where had she gone? Is she alright? the information brought so many questions to mind but he asked none of them just yet. Instead he listened as Aries made what seemed like a confession. "I have done bad things, father" the words hurt his heart some. "As have I Aries.." he responded in a softer voice. Memories of running from Olive and Cassiopeia that one night, memories of even wanting to join the dark pack when he had promised Olive to return to her. "Many bad things" he added in just as Aries asked why he no longer smelled of Moonspear, also simultaneously asking him to voice his wrongdoings. "Olive denied her love for me, choosing...deities..God's..over me one night and I ran from Moonspear. I had intended to return but I slipped and tumbled off a cliff and into the ocean. I ended up stranded on an island and caught up in some things. When I had decided to finally return I ended up unluckily eating some poisoned berries, I had thought they were edible but apparently not. I grew ill, had to rest, barely survived and when I got back to the Moonspear area Olive was mad at me. She healed me and I tried to go off to hunt for us both but it was storming and I got lost. By the time i returned your mother had disappeared" he explained everything the best he could in a quick manner, his heart squeezing as he told of what shattered their family once and for all. "I never should have ran off. Cassiopeia was still there...I should have stayed. I never was a good father" he admitted. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - January 20, 2018 His father seemed to relate to his statement, and yet Aries could not remove the slight bitter taste in his mouth. Perhaps his father had done wrong, but he did not contain the monster inside him that the Reaper did, that dark shadow with gaping jaws that longed so maliciously to consume the light and drag it into the deep depths of the world. He contained within his chest a heart tainted with ominous desires, a cracked mess of a lost boy who had not found his purpose and so resorted to the darkness that was oh so welcoming. Hurting, drawing blood, hearing the violent snap of a bone crunching between his teeth, and feeling the thick red liquid drip down his muzzle brought him a sickly pleasure that he could not explain in words to Dakarai. His voice pitched a tone lower, and a flash of something purely venomous danced in his icy gaze that pierced through the momentarily silence. "No, father." He gave a tilt of his head, looking the older wolf straight in the eye. "You have not felt the temptations that I have."
My world is not quite the same as yours. He was not the boy that Dakarai had once known, rather, Aries had become something so much more dangerous. The malignant hunger that erupted like a volcano from his chest and cursed his mind - he was lethal. Once he had completed his training, and gained acceptance into the Dark Brotherhood, he would be even more so. His father would never understand the sadistic longing that he so contained within his heart to cause harm upon another and watch as they suffered at his hands. The inky-hued wolf went on to talk of his failure at life, but the younger boy only shook his head. "That is in the past. You have the option to continue through your time and work to better your choices, but I cannot do this - my problem is one that cannot be removed." With a lash of his tail, he continued. "But I have accepted it, and I do not care to try and force it from myself." I am a monster. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 20, 2018 Aries spoke again and for a moment Dakarai could see the darkness. He could see the dangerous young man his boy had grown into and the scary man he would continue to grow to be. But hadn't he always been somewhat scary? The eery and silent way he had been as a child, Dakarai realized Aries had never been anything but dark. It reminded him of someone and there was a memory pushing it's way forth, another boy that he had taught to fight...Abraxas. Yes Aries reminded him of Abraxas. But even so Dakarai would never shun this boy, even if this stranger of a child would grow to be a true member of the dark forest he hated so much he wouldn't shun the result of his and Olive's love. While he had vague ideas of what temptations Aries hinted at, he wouldn't ask about the details wishing to not know about it. His son continued on with much wise words and he felt a bitter smile growing on his maw "You speak the truth. I can move on and better things. That's..another reason I am continuing my path through teekon, your mother wants to find you all. Olive and me were supposed to find you,Cassi, and Sirius together. It never happened but...you should know she loves you, it's always been her way to love unconditionally." His voice took on a yearning tone as he spoke of Olive and despite everything he'd done so far in teekon he still felt that almost physical yearning for his Anthousai. "Dont...don't ever try to force yourself to be something you aren't" this cane out in a firm and adamant tone. He connected his gaze with Aries's again holding it "I don't care if you are... A killer. Darkness incarnate. If that is something that you are satisfied with and find pleasure in living as then be it. There is no better place to home that darkness than here. Never let anyone try to twist you into something you aren't" he spoke just as firmly, voice holding no trace of bitterness or disappointment. "You'll always be the son of me and Olive Aries. I don't like the woods, but since you are part of it now I'll choose to forget my grudges and just simply move on. Besides...I owe the woods for giving my boy a home when his own parents couldn't." He admitted this time a bit bitterly. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - January 29, 2018 It was true he had been dark from birth, as though something in his mind that should make him normal had failed the duty and snapped, leaving him a silent shadow plagued with sinister thoughts. But he had known no different. He considered, perhaps, for only a brief moment, if there might have been another along the line of Svartell men who had been similar in nature to himself. Or maybe he was the odd one out - the outcast, the one with sick desires who was cursed upon the lips of his own blood. The stranger whom was both feared and pitied for his lack of choice in personality. Then again, he supposed his choice had been made when he moved to reside in the domain of Blackfeather. Yes, that had been his choice.
The older man spoke of his endevours since returning to the Teekon, mentioning the Reaper's mother and siblings as he did so. He gave a slight, deep hum in response, parting his jaws to accompany the words that feel from within. "I have come upon mother already." Cassiopeia too, though Dakarai already knew of this. Olive's love for the broken family did not surprise him - she did indeed love unconditionally, and he would never doubt her care for them. But wolves changed as they grew, and Aries was no exception to this. But in truth, he appreciated that his father did not send him away. It would not have really mattered, but it would save him the need to feel as though he must redeem himself. Besides, his father was the only one who mildly understood. No, he could not see into the boy's inked heart or his tortured mind, but it was enough to suggest that if he was to be dark - so be it. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - January 29, 2018 Dakarai stilled when Aries spoke of seeing Olive. His heartbeat quickened and for a moment he wanted to ask so many questions. Do you know where she was headed? What happened?Did she look well fed? Was she alright? Did she mention him?.. they raced across his mind in a flurry of concern, hope, and pain but all he did for the moment was nod slowly. Finally he cleared his throat and asked the one that was most important to him "Did she seem okay? As in...not sick or starved." He asked his eyes a swimming mess of emotion. His lips trembled for a moment before he dropped his gaze back to the ground. Olive had probably already found all of the children...Maybe it was true that they'd all be better off without him invading their lives again. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - February 13, 2018 After the mention of the pale sylph, his father seemed to freeze. As though he had not seen or heard from her in an extended period of time, and the boy noted this with a blank expression upon his features. They had been together happily during his time at Moonspear, though he understood that many things had changed after his departure from the confines of those borders. Aries observed silently the wave of emotions and thoughts that flashed in his father's questioning stare, but he said nothing for a moment, his only response a solemnly slow nod.
One question was selected from the plethora apparently swimming in the older man's head, and Aries answered it simply. "She is well - that is what she told me." Perhaps it might not truly be what she felt, but that was all the information he had the ability to present to Dakarai. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - February 14, 2018 The news about Olive having been by had made him restless. He wasn't exactly about to go and hunt her down, but he felt the desire go do a sweep of the surrounding area incase she was still nearby. He waited silently for Aries to respond and when he did, it was somewhat soothing. If Olive said she was alright, maybe she really was. The pale woman had always seemed to be open with how she felt, or maybe that was just the way she had been with him. "Thats good to hear. I...I'm not sure she really wants to be around me any more. I suppose I should find my own place again." He spoke in a distracted way before returning his gaze to Aries. "I'm glad that you are alright. We all worried...I tried searching but lost your trail. I'm just...I'm glad you're alive." he said honestly. It wasn't exactly how he'd imagined their reunion being, but he could also imagine it being much worse. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Aries - March 13, 2018 The Reaper eyed his father with mild distate - he could not understand what compelled two souls to join together in a courtship such as his parent's, but he did not question it. It was yet another thing he lacked the emotion to understand, it was something perhaps he might never understand. His brow quirked at Dakarai's words, flicking his tail at the assumption Olive no longer wanted him around. It affected Aries very little, but a soft sigh was bitten back at the revelation that this was another way in which his family was broken.
Then came the words that caused a slight spark of irritation to flare in the youth's gaze of ice. So he cared, did he? Surely that was false. "Don't lie to yourself, father - my absence did not hurt you." That was something the Svartell was certain of - if anything, it was likely the lack of Aries' presence had lifted some of whatever weight Dakarai held upon his shoulders. RE: Tricky trickster pulling tricks - Dakarai - March 13, 2018 Dakarai was taken aback by the words Aries spoke, a sharp stab of pain going through his chest. Did he truly believe that he didn't give a damn? "That is not true at all. I was hurt deeply by your absence. We lost Sirius and then we lost you. I blamed myself for it, for not trying to stop the girls from being nasty little demons to you....for being too worried that Amekaze and Chiron would be outraged by something being said against their children. I was wounded because I failed you as a father and I couldn't even bring you back."He stood up and spoke firmly, his eyes direct. After a moment's pause he gave a weary sigh. "None of us belonged there upon the mountain. That was the first mistake. It all just crumbled from there." he shook his head slowly and then looked up at Aries. "I have to move forward and find somewhere to settle for the winter. I truly am happy that you are alive. I don't expect you to believe a word from my mouth but it wasn't just your mother and sister who missed you. Goodbye Aries." he said and with a nod of his head turned around and headed away. |
