the cold winds are rising - Vaati - February 03, 2018 he's just checking out who the new neighbours are! (not trespassing tho) ((aw but he's looking for the leaders))
The yearling stops before the makers of an unknown pack, situated in an unknown location. Their scent is too an unfamiliar one, which grants him the leeway to place himself some five feet away from their borders and howl for the present leadership. The act holds no qualms -- vacant of hostility or premise for attack. To them, he should be no more than a wanderer looking to place his bearings, for truthfully, in his displaced circumstance, that is what he is. He has a mind to venture back west, to conceal his scent and utilize the tunnels in making his way towards Moonspear. It would be foolish, but a part of him yearns to know all that occurred in the aftermath of their departure from the eyes of the third party -- the Cerberus. Before Blackfeather is to return, they must know that the metaphorical coast is clear, safe for them to re-integrate themselves within the flatlands. But first, Vaati will make sure that the present company does not pose a threat to them either, and neither must he compromise the sanctity the Bypass has allowed them by revealing where sleeping dogs lie. For now, he is not the leader of Blackfeather Woods, nor a Melonii -- but a traveller seeking solace. RE: the cold winds are rising - Nanook - February 03, 2018 The days seemed touched with a tangible sadness, and today, Nanook rests near the standing stones, Keoni's grave a fresh heap in the centre. Nanook had not been privy to know the girl well, but in the aftermath of her death, she wonders often to the day she had found the girl dabbling with an assortment of herbs. The circumstance of her death roused her suspicion, and Nanook can't help but feel the weight that she had been doing more than treating herself that day - that maybe, she could have done something to prevent this from happening at all. The call reaches her in the middle of these thoughts, and Nanook sighs, but she drags herself from the ground anyway. The distraction would do her good, the opportunity to focus on something other than death and the inability to change what was permanent now. Nanook shakes herself and gives no further glance to Keoni's grave as she heeds the pointed beckon. Who she sees in wait for her and her sister is a mystery to her, and the Apaata draws herself tall, piquing ears and body forward in a curious survey of the stranger. He is formidable, and perhaps handsome once, yet the rigid scar on his face lends him an air of grotesque. Nanook stops herself on the cusp of their land and flares her nostrils to catch his scent. Unfamiliar, and yet, there is something there she recognizes. Kove. Her eyes flash, and she stares at him. This is not her father - but he carries his scent, and she waits for him to speak. RE: the cold winds are rising - RIP Valette - February 08, 2018 Valette was patrolling the borders. She was on the lookout if there was anything suspicious going on. She would occasionally mark the borders but mostly her other senses were alert if someone was coming close to their borders. If someone had been close to their borders and left a scent. Valette came from the forest out in the open. She noticed that there was some wolf up close. She trotted towards it and realized Nanook was there as well. Nanook was with a stranger. Curious. A young male it seemed. Valette trotted towards her sister with her tail raised. She hadn't seen Kove for so long that she didn't connect his scent to their father. Valette stood next to her sister, she greeted her briefly before focussing on the male before her. "What is your business here?," she asked as there was no conversation going on, at least she assumed. Unaware that her sister was waiting for the other to speak. RE: the cold winds are rising - Vaati - February 11, 2018 Two women come to meet his call, presumably the Alpha females of the pack he now stands before. He cannot recall a time where two women ruled the dark wood co-dependently, and doubted there ever was, but nonetheless is intriguing to see. "Scouting, mostly." He shrugs lightly at the darker woman's inquiry, unlike himself to offer such a lackadaisical and non-committal form of response to a fellow dignitary. But he has no identity to them at the moment, and reminds himself that this is as much respect he can muster behind the facade of a random wanderer. "I am looking for a pack, Blackfeather Woods, it is called. Do you know where I may find them?" He takes a different approach then he had intended, knowing that if they had heard anything of the fallout through the social grapevine, they would likely tell him... either out of warning or suspicion. But he gives them nothing to outright suspect crookedness about him. Nothing other than his scars and injuries stick out of the ordinary, and he does not carry with him his usual suave. He does not disclose who he is, leaving them only to guess and make up their own minds on who he may or may not be. It is liberating, in a way, but the risk is much higher. Should they suspect treachery, he has no doubt Vaati will be run from their neck of the woods in a similar fashion Hydra had did him. Avoiding direct eye contact as a gesture of subservience, he waits for them to speak on the matter before pressing forward. RE: the cold winds are rising - RIP Valette - March 09, 2018 Valette glanced at her sister before focussing back on the male. Their father was in Blackfeather woods. Though Valette wanted nothing to do with them. Especially, with the war that was probably happening or already happened. "They are not in this region," Valette spoke. 'Why are you looking for them? I heard there will be a war against them. They aren't a nice pack," Valette added. Her own opinion of the pack was clear. Nanook was normally not that talkative. So the darker sister would probably do most of the talking. Luckily Valette could read a lot from her sisters face. She wondered what this young male would want to do with them. If he was interested in joining those type of wolves Valette would have no problem turning him away from her own ranks. Lets just write that Nanook is there in the background and continue this <3
