and when you turned to them they gave you only ash - Anatha - February 11, 2018
it was the sharp cry that had drawn her, the tiny sounds of something other than wolf and yet sounding just as pitiful as a pup. she picked her way through the white, the rust-hued woman picking out the orange tinges in the snow and the tiny trail, which eventually led to the pika as it cried. she hesitated, spotting after a moment the sharp gashes alongside it's side. the glanced up, but the bird was long gone, evidently not desperate enough to pursue its dropped prey.
she stepped toward the thing, jaws already poised to deliver a clean blow. but she hesitated again when the little thing scuttled away, silent now. it seemed wrong, to take this life when it had only recently escaped death. for a long while she watched the little thing as it watched her, dark gaze unreadable. finally, she moved forward and grabbed the fauna by it's scruff. the pika, obviously overcome, fell limp and swayed in her grip, and she could almost imagine that she could feel its tiny heartbeat as she turned back the way she'd come. RE: and when you turned to them they gave you only ash - Gracious - February 26, 2018 [ooc] Sorry for being so late! I promise I can get another one up if you wanted to have her earn a medic thread too She had yet to meet others, she recalled meeting the few other faces that remained in the forest with her. While she didn't make it her number one priority, she did think that it was at least important for her to know everyone just a little bit. With the thought in mind, the large ghost made her way through the territory, letting her nose guide her to a new wolf to meet and greet. She wondered who she might run into, the scents didn't smell like those of she knew, yet the smell of the homeland was laced with it. At least no intruder was in the territory, she could have that part at ease. Lightly making her way through, she managed to see a wolf made of fire come her way. She looked smaller than Gracious, though, to Gracious, everything was smaller, to begin with. Pausing in her gait, the mountain woman let out a chuff, welcoming and hoping for some interaction. she paused in her step, swinging around to regard the owner of the chuff. the pika squeaked feebly in her grip, the injured creature making another half-hearted escape attempt when it noticed her falter. she chuffed in turn through the fur of the creature, gaze tracing the mountainous woman warily. she made no move to put down the rodent, fearing suddenly that the stranger might make a move for her patient.
RE: and when you turned to them they gave you only ash - Gracious - March 03, 2018 It seemed she was intruding on what looked to be a quick snack, though the intentions were different from what the gray woman thought. She feared that a wolf might get possessive over a kill (though the "kill" really wasn't dead yet), so she kept her spacing. However, the returned chuff disarmed her a bit and she decided to gingerly take a step forward or two. "Hi," she said warmly and quietly, "I don't think we've met before, I'm Gracious." Upon noticing that the pika in her mouth was still alive, Gracious tossed Anatha a confused expression. "Intend on having a snack or saving it for later?" her tone of voice was light, curiosity laced her voice, yet the tone of humor was evident in the tone. |
