three blind mice - Dune - February 12, 2018 Weather: 0°F, clear. Tagged the injured babies because Dune wants to make a good impression. :P
The skies had cleared, and visibility was good for the first time in a long time. Dune had started to think the clouds would never leave them. In fact, he did not see a single cloud in sight. The bright blue sky seemed to open up forever above him, and he grinned happily in the midday sun. It was cold and a bit windy, but nothing he couldn't handle. The temperature had slowly been rising all day, and although there was definitely still a chill in the air, the sun on his back made Dune feel a whole lot more alive than he had in weeks. He knew that three of the pack's wolves had been injured during a recent run-in with a cougar, and wishing to make a good impression, Dune had stuffed in his jaws three fat rabbits to deliver to them. @Terance he had met a couple of days ago, @Wraen even before that, but he had yet to seek out the third victim: @Liffey, although he had heard the name around. Dune made his way to the rendezvous site where he thought they might be, ears pricking up as he tried to pick them out of the landscape. RE: three blind mice - Alya - February 14, 2018 Alya was not concerned about the weather. She was active enough that she rarely felt the winter's sting, and that, when she did, it was more of an observation than a nuisance. Snow was just a fact of life on the higher slopes, so it didn't bother her when it came to the lower reaches of her home as well. She'd cut her baby teeth on weather like this, and besides, there'd been a strange fire burning in her belly for the past several weeks. Which was why it was the first time in what was nearing a fortnight when she visited the rendezvous that day, having spent most of her time patrolling the outer territories, lately. It was also the first time she laid eyes on the pallid male that was padding toward her from several yards away, looking particularly handsome and dad-like with dead animals in his mouth. Alya allowed herself a brief moment of fantasy, wherein the man laid his kill at her paws and then swept her away to do... well. She was sure he knew how it worked. He did in her fantasies, at least. But those fantasies were locked firmly within her chest, where she kept most of her thoughts (as one did). She remained still and stiff at the edge of the rendezvous and gave a sharp wuff to announce her presence. RE: three blind mice - Terance - February 14, 2018 like alya, terance spent rarely any time near the center of the territory, opting instead to linger by the borders to make patrolling much more convenient. if it hadn't have been for that damned cougar, terance would still be doing that same thing. but, in order to keep nearer to wraen and to lyra (in case of infection yada yada yada) terance made himself at home in the rendezvous site. soon enough he'd be cleared for patrolling again-- though he knew better than to think that this scar would leave him forever-- he was stuck with it.
he spotted dune a little ways off, and-- remembering the way rannoch had said he felt about welcoming new recruits-- terance set off towards him, limping along. "hey, dune!" he chuffed, grabbing the males attention with a wave of his tail, "how's it going?" then, noticing one of the cerberus off in the distance, he turned and stared for a moment, nose twitching. which one was this? he usually paired lyra with being in the middle of the territory... but something told him it wasn't her. "hey," he called over to her too with a small, pearly grin. RE: three blind mice - Dune - February 14, 2018 When he heard her wuff, Dune turned to see a dark wolf approaching. For a moment, Dune thought Hydra had tracked him down again. However, Hydra moved decidedly different from this one, and although Dune wasn't sure which sister this was (their names and appearances were quite similar, after all), her smell was, even more telling that she was not Hydra. A friendly face, by way of Terance, caught Dune's attention then, and he wagged his tail, delighted to see the guy again. "One for you," Dune said after he'd dropped the three rabbits not at Alya's feet, but at Terance's (sorry lady, no fantasy for you... this time!). "One for Liffey. One for Wraen." Why yes, he was a kiss ass! Dune wanted to make an excellent impression on his new family, and wasn't it always said that the best way to a wolf's heart was through his or her stomach? Not wishing to intrude any longer than he needed to, he left the three rabbits for the three injured pack mates and took his leave. He trusted they would get to their recipients. |
