but the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems; - Relmyna - February 23, 2018 for @Kove. <3 set at nightcaller temple
this was not something that could be ignored any longer, relmyna decided, and after a sleepless night in a den that seemed to have grown cramped in a matter of hours, the evoker rose with the dawn.
one of her newer and more unfortunate maladies was the constant need to relieve herself; the woman gave an annoyed chuff as she took herself to the borders and made better use of herself there, strengthening the scent markers that had faded in some places. when she had finished, relmyna felt the deep claw of hunger gripping at her; much stronger now than in memory. but the pale woman scowled, her twisted lip adding a dark nuance to her expression — instead, she turned and began to hunt with searching steps for a larger burrow in which she might nest. as if drawn, however, relmyna found herself at the temple, where potema's fetishes still clung. and today the evoker lay down a small bundle of three bones and an ash leaf, sitting heavily to gaze unseeingly at her offering. the girl within her was whispering again, but this time relmyna paid the specter no heed. RE: but the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems; - Kove - February 25, 2018 The light mass was not spotted whilst remarking the borders, though her scent was later picked up when Kove set out to do the same thing. The odour was particularly pungent and plentiful, though he could not put a face to the individual; he’d rarely seen the woman, even in passing, especially as of late. With his presence at the borders not currently necessary, he found himself trailing after the scent mingling with the urine, following her markers as he worked his way deeper into the territory. It came as a surprise when he realised the direction he was heading in, the temple soon in his sights and calling him closer. There were few instances during which he’d ventured there, as it was more often occupied by Potema than any other. Yet, that did not make him hesitant; the woods were his now, he could go where he pleased, though even without the new title his role as a priest would have justified his being there. And it was there that he found the owner of the scent he’d been following, pale fur standing out and sides heavy. He was silent, observing her and noting the offering. Yet a chuff soon escaped him, soft and barely audible, for he did not know her name and wished not to disturb the silence any more than he already had. RE: but the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems; - Relmyna - February 27, 2018 relmyna wished so deeply in this moment to delve into the rock of tongues farther than before, so that perhaps she would not surface and thus be forced to face the nightmarish circumstances surrounding her. babes that belonged to a wolf with two faces, the wood empty, blackfeather scarcely recovered from war — how had the night mother seen fit to place this burden upon her now?
hypervigilant as the woman now was, her backswept ears caught the small masculine breath, and the evoker turned her turquoise eyes upon the man she now called dark master. he was pale in the shadows cast by the wintertime trees, strong, his eyes the burn of fresh-minted coins. relmyna studied him openly, inclining her scarred muzzle with an invitation for the man to join her, if he so wished. RE: but the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems; - Kove - April 11, 2018 Kove remained where he was, watching as she turned and looked him over; he did the same to her, studying her facial expressions before moving his gaze down her body, taking in what he could see and then meeting her gaze. An invitation was extended, one that he accepted by approaching her, settling in at her side whilst taking a better look at her offering; it did not hold his attention for very long, however, and his head was soon turned back in her direction. “Your name?” he asked, not having one to call her by. He wondered, too, what her offerings might be for, but settled for asking but a single inquiry. RE: but the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems; - Relmyna - April 15, 2018 he came to her side and settled himself, this kove. relmyna studied him from the corner of her eye, turning them front with a wan smile when he inquired after her name. how cursed her past, to have insisted she suffer so in the face of her packmates. half-turning toward the dark master, the evoker sought his face for a fleeting second, lifting a paw to her throat in what she hoped was a gesture easily understood. she had no voice, that was true — but relmyna hoped he would be able to see beyond that all the same.
