she eludes like bluest birds - Terance - March 01, 2018 this lake was nice. it wasn’t far from sunspire and even though sunspire did have a nice bit of water features… well… terance kind of liked it way out here. for some reason.
he wandered around the edge of the lake, head low as he sniffed at the earth. there was nothing all that interesting here… not today. no prey or predators or anything. except maybe the scent of wolf, which he only caught a whiff of as the wind changed directions briefly. hm. he kept moving, stopping only for a moment to lap at the waters edge. hydration and then keep moving, keep trekking on. RE: she eludes like bluest birds - Eshne - March 01, 2018 thank you for starting this!!
Eshne had been here before. She hadn't spent too much time in the Wilds, she'd gotten distracted by the handsome dark male. She'd moved on just as quickly because it ended up almost natural for her to wander. Like the rest of her, her paws were as hot as the dark rich reds of her pelt. She couldn't keep still. It seemed the weather had finally started to shift in her favor though and Eshne had spotted a lake in the distance, cutting her pathway to get a drink before continuing to explore. When she arrived she noticed there was a larger dark male nearby but she didn't say anything immediately. Eshne leaned down to get a drink, satisfying the primal need for hydration before she lifted her head again, tongue chasing the last few drops of water clinging to her fur. "You live around here?" She called out, the petite wolf curious if there were other groups that lived around the area. She didn't remember a thing about any of the surrounding territories or any packs nearby but if she needed to know places to avoid maybe he could clue her in. RE: she eludes like bluest birds - Terance - March 01, 2018 as he continued along, the wolf who's scent he'd come across earlier suddenly materialized. she reminded him of indra, actually, and a little bit of maera-- from all those months back-- but upon further inspection terance realized it was neither of them. he paused, watching as she lowered herself for a quick drink of water, his nose twitching curiously and his ears pricked. she seemed... not at all on edge, different from indra. in fact, she seemed inviting, and that was evident in the next moment as it was her sparking conversation between them. terance blinked.
"that way," the male replied, nodding along with it, then he tilted it back towards the mountains behind them, "at sunspire." his head tilted to one side, tail waving low at his hocks-- his curiosity about her was evident. "what about you? are you nearby?" RE: she eludes like bluest birds - Eshne - March 01, 2018 Eshne was curious about his response especially. The Sunspire meant little to her, nothing in fact, but she was intrigued more by the way he regarded her. He wasn't shy about it and Eshne appreciated that. "I'm everywhere and nowhere." She teased with a laugh, snowy tip of her tail sweeping her hocks. "I'm just wandering at the moment." Eshne didn't know the last place that she had truly called home but it didn't bother her in the slightest. "I'm Eshne." She offered her name easily, comfortable with the notion of being polite. "I'm guessing your Sunspire is fairly new?" She didn't smell too many scents together clinging to his fur - just vague ones she could pick up on the wind. RE: she eludes like bluest birds - Terance - March 01, 2018 terance couldn't relate to her answer. he liked having wolves with him-- liked having somewhere to call home. it gave him a sense of purpose and honestly kept him sane. but not everyone was like that, he guessed, so he just smiled when her answer was about as vague as they come. "any final destinations in mind?" terance asked with a flick of his ears-- though he already guessed the answer.
"i'm terance," he replied, finding the name eshne a unique one. it sounded like... rannoch's mom's name, actually, but different-- he didn't ask about any relation between the two. "just settled," he added with a wave of his tail, grinning a bit broader now. any scents that clung to his fur would be rannoch, liffey, and wraen-- the moonspear scents would have worn off by now, and he wasn't around any of the newer wolves enough to really hold on to their scent. "how long have you been around here?" he asks, wondering if maybe she had some sort of information on the terrain. he took a step towards her, comfortable in her personality-- still curious. RE: she eludes like bluest birds - Eshne - March 12, 2018 Eshne might have shrugged to the question but it did make her stop and think. What was she wanting, exactly? So far she'd gotten it - the chance to explore and learn about not only herself but the areas she'd swept through. It was a lonely road to travel though, and maybe she was tired of being alone. Eshne gave a soft sigh and shook her head, watching the dark male curiously. "If we're honest, I don't have a destination or a plan. It's worked for me so far." She had handled herself through winter alright and maybe she would be fine on a permanent basis but then, maybe she'd be fine settling down for a bit, too. "I actually just wandered in - I was following the shore for awhile." She explained. The sea had cut a pretty enough path but she had picked an area to explore at random. "Tell me about your group?" She was almost hopeful, a little glint in her golden eyes, maybe they'd be a suitable pick for awhile. She was scrappy enough, even if she was tiny, and she certainly wasn't afraid to take charge when it meant the right solution to a problem. Was she biased? Utterly. But in her opinion, she was one hell of a catch. |
