at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Ukko - March 11, 2018 @Buffalo; all welcome.
It takes long enough but wanting to make sure the territory is empty had been the first goal in mind. With Shadow Mountain settling on the other side of the lake, telling him no one else resided nearby, he hadn’t been as convinced. Asterr is a quiet woman, without wanting to bring too much attention to her followers, and he feared the possibility they’d grown small in numbers and holed up in the lair, coming out only when necessary. Do her children still reside there? Children he’d been meant to raise, only to find out they hadn’t been his at all. Ukko licks his lips at the thought, still feeling a little fire in his chest but it is extinguished just as quickly. The seasons have worn on the later; the emptiness weighs heavily on his shoulder. There’s no indicated how long they’ve been gone. There are no scents, not even stale ones left behind. The caches have disappeared into the earth and what was left returned to its rightful place in the earth. Any gardens the former mistress kept are overgrown with weeds and unkempt, not even worthy of the title. Just like the emptiness in his chest, the lair reflects his own, and he meanders his way aimlessly as the sun shines in from the opening above his head. RE: at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Buffalo - March 11, 2018 a marmot darted down beneath the lip of the earth, and buffalo followed happily, a killing lust upon him. so intent was he upon his quarry that he did not stop to admire the eerie land below the rock, nor did he notice the dark-furred wolf who stood perhaps lost in memory in a shaft of sunlight.
the wolf hooted as his teeth closed on the small leg of the mammal; buffalo stretched it with its muzzle, shoving its small head against the ground with one broad forepaw. when he had sufficiently wounded the animal enough, the sadist leapt forward, swinging the hapless creature hard against the unyielding bole of one earthbound tree, once, twice, until blood hung in amber droplets and fell from the air to dapple his maddened grin and the flick of his ears. only then did buffalo glance up toward the other wolf; his eyes fixed upon the interloper with a flat glitter. swinging the nearly headless, still twitching carcass up around his shoulders, buffalo approached confidently. "sorry you had to see that." RE: at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Ukko - March 18, 2018 Ukko’s stare is disrupted by the commotion of another, loping down the side of stone. He does not notice the prey in front of him at first until his posture changes as he darts after it, scooping it up by the back leg and ultimately, after a few whacks, its death. Watching the process from start to finish might once stun him but he blinks a few times as if to brush it off, curiosity taking its place. Now that the other wolf is up close, his signature marks around his muzzle and head are evident enough not to be fresh blood, except for the newest addition from the rodent now draped across his shoulder. Fiery gaze travels down to stare at it a moment longer as the other moves closer with an unceremonious swagger, pulling back to the blood stains and shrugs, indifferent to the display. RE: at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Buffalo - March 18, 2018 at times it annoyed buffalo when others did not respond to his often atrocious antics, but this was not one of those times. "who did you piss off, man?" the pale creature chuckled, drinking in the scars along the other's face and the neutral expression in the banked-fire glow of the black wolf's eyes. "not that you don't wear them well," buffalo added, stepping beyond the stranger and settling to chew absent-mindedly at his scarf.
until the head finally separated from the ill-abused body with a sinewy snap and a little thud when gravity carried it to the ground, where it came to rest beside the stranger's forepaw. "fuck's sake," the mad thing scoffed in fake frustration., sweeping his mismatched eyes between the other wolf and the severed head. "you gonna eat that?" RE: at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Ukko - March 25, 2018 It takes a few seconds to register what the bloody brute is indicating. Ukko wrinkles his nose, feeling somewhat self-conscious all of a sudden but the other somehow evens it out and he’s curious. One brow lifts, turning to watch as he moves on by. “Is blood your natural color?” he calls after him, just as the head snaps free and hits the ground. Dark eyes watch as it rolls back toward him and he moves his foot a little so he can stop it from going further. Ukko huffs a laugh and shakes his head, roughly (and with little skill) attempts to kick the head back toward the other. RE: at my core, i am iridescent terror with nothing left to lose - Buffalo - March 30, 2018 snapping his teeth down toward the head as it thumped dully against his paw, buffalo swung it up by one gore-dripping eye-socket and let go, watching its trajectory in the air and giving an audible hoot of laughter as it struck the ground. "yes. i was born like this," buffalo rejoined, turning back to the other with a deadpan expression. "mama took one look at me'n said 'why, the devil's been at this baby!'" the madman shrilled in a voice meant to imitate that of what he determined to be a hysterical woman of vaguely southern origin.
"then she kicked me out when i could walk and well, that's how i ended up here," was the end of the tale buffalo did not expect the other to believe. "what about your story there, friend?" |
