when the angels scream - Claire - June 07, 2014

set before the defying gravity thread :)

A bag on fur and bones.
That's what Claire looked like at the moment, curled up like a ball out in the open, her tail covering her shivering toes. The young female blinked slowly, her eyes fixed in nothing. It seemed like there was no worldly power that could get her to move, she was just laying there prostrated in the ground, with her flanks slowly rising as she breathed miserably.

There was a void in her heart that went beyond words, it was more than a simple depression. Whether it had to do with her mother's sudden death was uncertain, part of her blamed her mother for it. She should've taken better care of herself, as selfish as it may sound, Claire held anger towards her mother. How could she have abandoned her knowing her vulnerability?

A whimper escaped from her throat, there was nothing else to do. She could either get up and move on, or sink into her own destruction by awaiting her death in that very spot she was in. It was all up to her. Do or die.

Being unable to hold it in, another cry left her frail body, a bitter sound echoing in the empty mountain and piercing the tranquility of the night.

RE: when the angels scream - Ypres - June 07, 2014

The night was cool with clear skies. Ypres had been wandering all night in exploration to get familiar with the territories that surrounded her new home. The sudden sounds of silent cries echoed between the ears of the flamed hued female as she was going about her evening patrolling the area for prey. An unexpected hit of scent waft through her nostrils, and it smelled like sorrow; a scent she knew all to well herself. Following the sounds of weeping and that of another female, she came in closing in on her.
The female was quite weakened with her state. She paused in momentum as she spotted her from her fair distance. Watching her for a moment or two, the female looked quite pathetic, and it was a mirror reflection of her own self when she was banished from her birth pack for killing her higher ranking brother in a scuffle. The stocky fire colored girl stood there, ear twitching and the feel of sadness hitting the pit of her chest like a hard hammer of war.
Parting her jaws, Ypres shook away the empathy for the poor lass whom lay pathetically and vulnerable for any sort of attack. Maybe this female was lucky it was Ypres that came across her, because most wolves whom spotted a weaker vulnerable wolf often killed it. The power of empathy was far beyond more powerful than the kill instinct, even though it lingered in the back of Ypres's skull; but she shoved that aside; only because she had gone through similarities herself. It took one to know one, that was for damn sure.
Ypres took a deep breath as she stood full height from her position knowing the female just might attack, she stayed put without taking a further step. Ypres had trust issues beyond comprehension, and decided to stay a safe distance offering a wide birthed area for greeting the sorrow hearted lady. She cleared her throat before speaking.

Get up...

A lowly growl loathed from her jowls as she offered tough empathy instead of sweet falseness which tasted sour in her mind. She only did it for the good of the other female, seeing that the other girl was larger than she was, and probably capable of handling a good fight when need be. Ypres was not softening up on her at all, despite the sorrow she could feel in the air. Ypres was not bound to let sorrow over take her by watching another suffer.

In these elements one needs to stand up and fight. Now get up and be the strong wolf you know you are.

Another low growl erupted from her chest, hiding her anguished thoughts for the feelings she could feel on this lady. But this growl was softer as she stepped back to entice the girl to get back up on her feet. It was a very odd way of meeting someone and starting a conversation, but Ypres wasn't going to cherry this conversation at all. Ypres knew the dangers that lurked out here; and even though she had done some pretty bad things in her past, Ypres needed to redeem her forsaken soul by doing some good for the world now.

RE: when the angels scream - Claire - June 08, 2014

hello!

Do or die.
That simple phrase echoed through the girl's mind, playing over and over like a broken record. She tried to move but her legs would not respond, she couldn't even feel the tip of her toes. Was this how she would die? On the side of a mountain under a blanket of stars?

She felt the weight upon her eyelids become unbereable, she slowly gave in and allowed her eyes to shut. Not knowing if that would ever open her eyes again. By that moment, Claire had already begun to embrace her fate, she would give up, just like her mother. Was that really how she wanted to go? But was there another choice? All those questions still flooded through her mind, while the only sound that Claire culd make sense of was the one of her own heartbeat.

Suddenly a muffled sound made her shake, and miraculously open her eyes again. In front of her a flame kissed wolf stood with her eyes narrowed and her ears pricked. Claire tried to lift her chin and focus her eyes on the figure in front of her, but everything seemed to be upside down.

"Mmn," she managed to mutter before jerking her front paws in attempt to get on her feet. She didn't know for certain what was going on, but she knowed the wolf in front of her wasn't pleased with her presence. The beige colored girl tried to get up, but againt her legs faltered and she plopped to the ground.

Again the wolf demanded for her to get up, and Claire with all her might and little strenght pushed herself upwards, standing finally on all fours, though shaking like a little puppy.

RE: when the angels scream - Ypres - June 08, 2014

Hello! I like Claire! We'll played!

Ypres observed the other female carefully as she mumbled with her chin planted on the ground. She witnessed Claire attempting to get up for the first time, but failed miserably. Ypres frowned at the younger miss.

[b] come on.. Get up...[\b]

Ypres offered a gruffed bark as she backed up watching Claire. She briefly would look over her shoulders to make sure the coast was clear from larger predators or other wolves. Despite those feats, Ypres would do what it takes to protect the weaker wolf.
The flame pointed wolfess observed her once more, seeing the girl actually pushed herself to her feet. She knew conversation as to why she was in this state would perhaps kill the drive to survive within Claire, so Ypres didn't bother mentioning it at all. She stepped backwards once more to further coax her. Her tail wagged as it stood in neutral mid height, showing she wasn't here to dominate the girl, but to motivate her.
Ypres offered a genuine smile to the girl.

[b] that's it! Great.... now we need to get you out of here before the storm front comes in. [\b]

Ypres looked upward seeing the sky grow heavy with rain clouds, and the scent was thick through the air. She could tell a storm was brewing. Looking back at Claire seeing how she trembled like a leaf in the wind, she boldly drove herself towards the girl and stepped in behind her to get her to a safer destination, and out of the elements. Ypres lowered her skull and attempted to lightly head butt Claire's rump to get her moving.

Thanks, Ypres is pretty bad *ss too!! :D

Thin paws and frail knees wobbles as Claire tried to remain on her feet, she had now gotten over the sudden lethargy that had taken over her body, and was staring at the wolfess directly. Her ears still pinned to the back of her skull.

Like a puppy learning to walk again, the light colored female took a step forward, her tail shaking warily in between her hind legs. As her companion took a step back, Claire kept moving forward, her paws gaining more stability and her tail rising slowly. She felt her senses come tingling to her paws, she could now feel the roughness of the jagged rocks under her pads, that she had before been numb to.

Claire also looked to the sky when the fire female mentioned an upcoming storm, and a fat drop of water landed of Claire's nose almost on cue. She simply nodded and kept going, picking up her pace as she felt the dizziness disappear.

She didn't dare to utter another word, not until they were away, she still felt like her mouth didn't respond. As if she had been chocked and her voice had left with all her energy. Still she gave the female a grateful whimper, when she nudged her to walk.

RE: when the angels scream (MATURE) - Ypres - June 11, 2014

Ypres watched the female take a few steps. It must have felt like triumph to the girl as she stepped forth. Watching those trembling legs, she offered another gentle shove as she felt raindrops kiss her muzzle.

Come on girlie, get your butt moving.

Hearing a distant claiming howl of the territory, Ypres knew it was definitely time to haul ass or be raked alive by a new forming pack. Ypres looked to Claire who possibly may have also heard the howl in the distance, but she wasn't sure, and Ypres wasn't bound to bide further time; it was time to leave.

Come on I will take you home...

She was offering the young lady shelter on her pack lands knowing the peril that could happen in Claire's state if she was left out here on her own to fend for her self on claiming pack lands. She took claim of Claire's well-being now by taking her under her wing and looking out for her. Now all Ypres had to do was to get the girl to follow her to the island and hopefully in one piece too.

RE: when the angels scream - Claire - June 15, 2014

Each step after that became a little faster, her tail began to rise a little higher, leaving it's scared position between her legs and pointing upwards. With each step her spirit also rose. It seemed that not everything was lost after all. Just when she was about to give in and let her life drain away from her, a fire colored female had come to her rescue.

While Claire wasn't exceptionally a religious girl, it certaintly felt like Ypres sudden appereance was something heavenly. Again she grunted softly when the girl proded her behind and encouraged her to get moving. She was now moving quicker so that was a good sign. It would seem that with the aid being provided, Claire's heart was lifted from the ground and was now floating with renewed hope and willingness to fight.

"Come on I will take you home... "

Home. That was a hollow ended word for Claire, a four-lettered word with no meaning to her. For the majority of her life she had always been on the move with her mother, sleeping from den to den as the weather changed. She had no memory of a place she had stayed more than a month in. So of course when her saviour mentioned such word, the young female was skeptical and slowed down to a halt.

She hadn't had a home during the 2 years of her life, how could this female changed it now?

RE: when the angels scream - Ypres - June 15, 2014

Just as Ypres had the girl moving her heart beat with hope and happiness. Ypres took lead to lead her back to Gull Island to introduce her to Majesty. She knew the Alpha would accept the pretty young girl into the pack. After all strength came in numbers. Ypres padded gently onward and then noticed it fell silent from behind her; no footsteps. She mentioned that she would take the girl home, and it perhaps frightened the new wolfess.

Ypres looked over her shoulders at the young wolfess and tilted her head as she too came to a halt.

What's wrong? Are you alright?

A crash of thunder clapped in the heavens and Ypres looked upward to the darkened clouds. Rain started to get heavy, and Ypres stood there for a mere second observing Claire. She barked for the girl to keep moving, she didn't want to see the girl give up so soon; she was doing a great job in redeeming herself..

Come on... Let's go.. We're going to Gull Island. There you will be fed, and have your own den to sleep in. My Alpha will accept you.

There was no question about it, Ypres knew Majesty had a large heart.

RE: when the angels scream - Claire - June 16, 2014

More tiny bullets sent from the clouds crashed against the female's back, she could feel the cold droplets sink into her fur and reach her skin. She shivered from the cold the rain brought along and with that decided she had no other choice but to believe the female. Whether of not she'd keep her promise was unknwown. Once again Claire was stuck playing a game of trust and faith, two of the things she lacked the most.

Before she could start walking again her companion turned to ask if she was alright, to which the pale colored female responded with a gruff bark. She was really in no mood for chatting, she'd leave that for later -that is if they ever got anywhere.

As she walked besides she fiery girl, she often had to slow down since the path was treachearous and the rain only made it worse. More than once the frail wolfess lost her footing, only to come tumbling a few steps before getting back up. While she was completely focused on the ground in front of her she heard the faint sound of the other female's voice, telling her their destination in a sweet voice that made Claire feel a tiny bit better.

RE: when the angels scream - Ypres - June 20, 2014

We can end this thread upon this last post, and maybe have Claire follow Ypres to the Gull Island?

Ypres felt the rain grow heavier to the point that it was pouring. There was no stopping now, and Ypres wondered in the back of her mind what would have happened to Claire if she didn't find her out here? A new pack has claimed turf here, and Ypres knew they could probably smell her and Claire there, however they were there moments before the pack ever claimed it to begin with.
The she wolf could hear the wolf behind her tumbling and it forced Ypres to look behind her each time to make sure the other lass was alright. They were almost there... Home...

RE: when the angels scream - Claire - June 23, 2014

sounds good thank you for the thread
Together they disappeared into the night, veiled by a mantle of darkness that offered cover from potential attackers, even if they weren't moving at a fast pace, they were already leaving behind the great set of mountains.

As the rain poured over her bodies, Claire felt as if every tiny raindrop that landed on her pelt was washing away her sorrow. The whole journey was something clensing for the frail youngster.
