if ours was a dream - Ariel - March 14, 2018

backdated roughly-ish ~march 9th, tags for reference

his impromptu encounter with brienne has left him feeling warmer and more settled than he's been in some time. but he does not immediately return to the vale, for @Anatha's disappearance is his top priority. delight knows he can't go too far -- not when they've only just settled and he's a meeting with rannoch and brienne still, too -- but he can't just do nothing, either. even if his efforts don't turn up the wayward girl at least he can say he honestly tried and hope she finds her way back to them (and he's told @Queenie and @Nathaniel to be on high alert as well).

the final leg of their journey he'd paid little attention to their surroundings, mostly focused on getting them home. now he moves slow as he navigates around the base of the cliffs, not really in the mood to risk climbing them but made fretful by their apparent danger. what if anatha got lost and injured herself somehow, either on these cliffs or on some other danger they passed he didn't notice?

frowning deeply, delight pauses. he'll do a sweep of the area once more and then head back.

RE: if ours was a dream - Vigilante - March 27, 2018

Sleeping and nestled into a slender crook in the cliffs, Vigilante found himself disturbed by the unambiguous sound of claws against stone. The docile noises of someone traveling carefully on the ridge ticked and scraped on above him; the echoing walls of his crevice making the nuisance just that much louder. The limber wraith unfurled his stiffened limbs, his dark coat shedding dust and pebbles as he rose to his stilted height. The large wolf squeezed from his confine and turned his head up, spotting the culprit a crag or two above him.

Pressing his ears forward, the menace stared after the elfin wolf, his gaze hard and rather unkind. He thought he was looking at a she-wolf, and having never in his life been seriously impressed by the fairer sex, Vigilante automatically assumed that this was just some dumb, overly careful woman without a rock-climbing bone in her body. He chose not to draw attention to himself then, unwilling to deal with what he thought was a good-looking, but ultimately irritating, baby-maker.

no sign nor scent of anatha to be found. the androgyne huffs out a sigh, frustrated as ever with his inability to effectively solve any problems -- despite the reassurances of gracious and the rest, he still doesn't think he's done all that much for them. and poor anatha...

but he can't linger long. and being on these treacherous cliffs makes him anxious. delight carefully clings to the side as he edges his way down, pausing at a fleeting movement down below. sheep or wolf? catiously he edges close enough to peer down, catching glimpse of the dark canid below him. "oy," he calls, only somewhat awkwardly, aware of the inconvenient distance between them that stilts proper conversation, "you been on these cliffs long?"

RE: if ours was a dream - Vigilante - March 30, 2018

Vigilante grimaced, and a bubble of annoyance buoyed to the surface as the reedy wolf above spotted him on the ridge. The voice of the stranger betrayed his gender, and after confirming it on a convenient gust of wind, the troublemaker decided to entertain the question posed to him. Albeit, in a roundabout way. "What's it to you?" he returned in leisure; sounding more like a con artist who would impart the knowledge sought for a fee, rather than a wolf who was wary of being asked.

he squints, not sure how to interpret that response. it's not aggressive but it strikes him as decidedly disinterested in helping. "i'm looking for someone," delight calls back down after a pause, shrugging into the phrase as he settles down to look over the edge properly. "small, red-furred, girl. seen her around?"

RE: if ours was a dream - Vigilante - April 02, 2018

"Oh?" Vigilante looked interested now; he even bothered to lift his brow. In hearing the description, he knew he hadn't seen anyone like that in quite some time— and certainly not on these cliffs. He developed a defensive look anyway, narrowing his expression so that he appeared to be hiding something. "Did she do something wrong?" he called back, adopting a look of seriousness, as if wanting to weigh his options on imparting what "knowledge" he had.

sighing, delight lays his head on his crossed paws. from a distance, he thinks they must look very strange. to answer the stranger's question: "no -- my pack relocated recently, only she's gone missing somewhere along the way." part of him wonders if he should lie about that bit -- it doesn't make him look like the best leader -- but there's not much of a point to it. delight squints down, either doubtful or trying to make out more detail below him. "so have you seen anyone like that or not?" he repeats, slightly more impatiently -- it's a pretty easy question, he doesn't think the guy needs to go all fake deep on him about it.

RE: if ours was a dream - Vigilante - April 17, 2018

Vigilante watched the young male grow impatient, much to his... delight. He was glad to have held the wolf up with his nonsense, if even for a moment, and in causing the annoyance he'd keep going to see if there were any more buttons he could press before they parted. "Ah," he contributed unessentially, as if the perched raven's story meant anything at all to him. He took an overly long time to answer his next question though. After pretending to look mildly offended by the wolf's tone, he said at long last: "no." He licked his chops and smiled cheekily. "But I will keep an eye out for her. Who, pray tell, might I tell her is looking?"

no, which is about what he expected. poor anatha. a frown twists his delicate features further, somehow doubtful he actually will, and a little nervous to send strange men after the girl when she'd clearly been traumatized. but, well, he can't be everywhere, anyway, can he? "delight," delight says, openly doubtful at this point. "my pack -- tindome -- is over that way in the vale." he points briefly, then sighs and drops his head back down, mumbling to his paws, "but i doubt you'll find her."
