leningrad - Dune - March 15, 2018 Weather: 33°F, foggy. Hunting buddies! Tagging those who were interested. :) @Corinna @Gannet @Jarilo
After asking around, Dune had managed to gather a small group to help him in his quest. He had tracked down a moose herd a couple of days ago, and he proposed that the four of them hunt together to take down one of the larger ones. It would not be an easy task, especially in this weather, but Amekaze was growing each day, and she would need the sustenance. Besides, Dune was eager to prove himself worthy of a more prestigious rank. With the three in tow, he returned to the same trail he had found two days earlier. The trail was still clear, but visibility was low. He knew that the moose herd could not be too much further ahead. They would need to plan their approach carefully, so he began to slow his pace, glancing back at the others to let them know they shouldn't move ahead. RE: leningrad - Jarilo - March 16, 2018 The young Ostrega had agreed very readily to help hunt. He was a capable enough small game hunter on most days, and had a big need to expand horizons just by more, continual exposure, this didn't seem smart to pass up. Jarilo wasn't immune to that lurking sensation of anxiousness over the prospect of puppies (his siblings!!!!!!) happening here soon either. It had quietly instilled in him a sense to just help, hunt, guard, whatever, and however he could do it as one long-legged juvenile on this great big mountain.
But now that it was actually underway—that they were a gathered handful with a purpose in mind and there was a very real trail underfoot as they ranged out, he was starting to realize more. The boy waxed and waned between excitement and nervousness as they traveled along. At his best, he tried for the middle-ground of the two and since he knew he was their very own Resident Newb when it came to hunting MOOSE, he hung back towards the rear of the small group to watch the leads of others. From there, he could keep a better eye on what was going on, at least until he was able to find out where he did fit most appropriately into the situation.
He also already found that he didn't appreciate the fog much, but was coping steadily (no choice), and watched Dune most carefully for their biggest cues since he really seemed like he knew what he was doing in bringing them here. When he slowed up, Jarilo did the same, and peered around with big, wide eyes—ready to follow his lead.
