DO NOT ENGAGE - Easy - March 21, 2018 come at me, @Ukko
Easy wandered the outskirts of the maplewood, tracing the line of Dawn and Aditya's scent markers. Each time she passed one, she fought back a rueful wince. Shame had a way of lingering unlike any other emotion. It was like a scent she couldn't wash out of her pelt, and every time she caught wind of it, it was as bad as the first time she'd scented it.The worst of it was that she still pined over him. Even after swearing to herself that she'd never betray Dawn again, she couldn't stop herself from thinking about how warm he had been beside her, and how his eyes had sparkled at her from underneath his lashes. He was so... so handsome. Yuck! Who even was she? Shaking her head and cringing in residual embarrassment, Easy continued on her path. It seemed silly to dwell on such things, but since she couldn't keep her mind off it, she might as well be doing something useful. Patrolling Dawn's favorite haunts seems as good atonement as anything. RE: DO NOT ENGAGE - Ukko - March 25, 2018 Instead of linger in the mountains for the last remaining cold days, he’s moved toward a place he feels home. The last time he’d been there, however, it had been relatively empty save for a new mute friend. Maybe she’s still there. But, he stops abruptly when stronger scents are place neatly, planned, and only get thicker the closer he gets. Ukko slows to a stop and licks his lips, promptly frowning. There’d been no indication last time anyone had been settling and he wonders how long these wolves have been here. In the distance, a silhouette of a wolf begins to take shape, giving away to features and colors and his attention remains on her as she gets close enough to determine if she’ll be hostile. He’s careful, moving a little and chuffing his friendly-enough intent and somewhat curious nature. RE: DO NOT ENGAGE - Easy - March 27, 2018 When the dark figure appeared up ahead, Easy was almost certain she knew who it was. Without a second thought, she'd bounded forward, tail wagging, calling out a greeting of, "Hey - " And then she'd stopped, realizing she'd never gotten the name of the awkward, handsome stranger she'd met in the grotto earlier that month. And, having no way to hail him, she'd settled for gazing imploringly, which led to the discovery that she didn't know this wolf at all. Where her man's eyes had been yellow, this one had tangy orange. Their builds, too, were slightly different, and this man's face was hardened with age. "Oh," she said, reeling back with some embarrassment. "Sorry - I thought you were someone else." But while she was slightly less excited to meet a perfect stranger rather than the one she'd laid claim to, this man was no less interesting than the last - and seemed far less likely to puke on himself. |
