slack key lullabye - Illidan - April 13, 2018 any who would be welcome. maybe a 1 on 1 with @Rhakios
The boy would have found peace in his slumber were it not for the bodies of his siblings. They scrambled to get to wherever it was that puppies needed to be, pawing over or under him. Illidan was pulled from his nap for a moment by a stray limb – which could have very well been his own – and he shuddered violently. The boy opened his eyes and stared at the unclear picture that danced before him. The new colorful world that he had begun to grow used to was not one that he found particularly interesting. Of course, the whelp was unable to make out shapes in his current state, and he saw most of the world as a multicolored blob. Some would occasionally move about, but the world was surprisingly stationary for him.
Rolling about, Illidan fixed himself on limbs that were growing stronger with each passing day and worked his way toward Caiaphas in search of lunch. He uttered little squeaks as he scooted along, knowing that the scent of his siblings was near enough to collide with. The boy managed to make it to a teat without incident, and he latched tightly to drink. RE: slack key lullabye - Rhakios - April 15, 2018 The development of strength enough to crawl more easily and eyes capable enough to discern his presently amorphous family meant that Rhakios could more or less position himself where he wanted to be. There were two spots he found most comfortable: on the outside of his siblings, with one flank against them and the other exposed to the air, or on top of them. These were the spots where he found that right balance between warmth and space. He was roused quickly from his nap when his positioning was compromised. Illidan had come beside him to nurse and sandwiched him with their sister on his opposite side. His first reaction was to reach out and swat his brother, a behavior that, along with shoving and his repertoire of noises, had become a routine way for him to express displeasure at his circumstances. Then with a grunt he lugged himself over Illidan's back and made himself his brother's cape, with his chin plunked between Illidan's ears and his legs draped on either side of him. Closing his eyes and licking his lips, he attempted to return to sleep. RE: slack key lullabye - Illidan - April 26, 2018
The young whelp found that his attempt at nursing was relatively short lived. A pressure had formed at the back of his little frame and soon made its way along his spine - like a weighted blanket - that cloaked his figure. Illidan squeaked in protest but after a few short minutes, had grown used to the sensation of his brother-cloak. The dark hooded young man found an interest in trying to move with the additional weight. His arms stretched and he scrambled to try and wiggle forward but ended up much like a turtle who had stuck its shell on a slightly elevated stone. All of his legs worked together to pull forward but they only succeeded in leaving marks on the den floor and causing a mewl to rise from his mouth. It was not a cry for help, but a chance to spur some sort of immeasurable strength to move himself and Rhakios from where they were.
RE: slack key lullabye - Rhakios - April 26, 2018 He could not sleep when his bed was moving. The pup's eyes peeled back open and his nose wrinkled but he did nothing to adjust himself or seek a steadier resting place. He was along for the ride... if there was to be a ride. His brother strained beneath him, his squeaks falling on deaf ears, but for all his sibling's effort they remained where they were for the moment. He was okay with that, and pressed his chin down hard into his brother's head as if to say, and stay down. RE: slack key lullabye - Illidan - May 16, 2018
With Rhakios slouched over his frame, Illidan was rendered immovable and practically useless. He wiggled as much as he could without the ability to release himself and resigned with a sigh that pushed through spread nares. At least his brother was warm, and he was not far enough away from their mother that he felt as though he should worry. While he wasn’t interested in living his life beneath his darker brother, Illidan was content with falling back to sleep with the young boy cloaked over his own frame. His breathing grew heavier and heavier until he drifted away into a slumber and was whisked away by dreams of the future and the thrill of all that life would bless him with.
