and when the levee breaks - Shale - April 21, 2018 come at me bros. spar? gotta blow off some steam
It was much like waking up the morning after a wild night of drunken debauchery. Shale's eyes popped suddenly open from a dreamless sleep, shifting to Pema, who slept beside him, her angelic face contented. Hanging heavy in the air was the scent of her heat, and the mingled odors of their-- Fuck. He'd almost forgotten. Without another word, Shale trotted out of the glade, muttering strangled oaths under his breath. He left the trees and took off at a breakneck pace, stretching out, his fury at himself and his body manifesting in a haphazard course toward. . .well, wherever. He slowed his pace when he reached the banks of a fast-flowing stream, coming to a stop and gazing down into the water, panting breaths misting on the cool air. "Fuck!" he exclaimed, echoing the one word that'd been bouncing around in his brain all morning. . .and, presumably, all of yesterday, too. He hadn't meant to fuck her. He didn't want this. Well, he did--but. But! The panic he'd been fighting back since their argument surged like hot bile in his throat, and he swallowed, beginning to pace back and forth along the edge of the river. He'd finished in her several times, and she was now undoubtedly with child. Lucy's belly had began to swell shortly after they'd met. Now the prospect of a mate, of kids, rose up in his mind, no longer the abstract concept it had been before. All because he'd wanted to get his dick wet. "Fuck," he said, much softer this time, the lines of his normally drawn face etched deep in shame. RE: and when the levee breaks - Wallflower - April 21, 2018 Wallflower was minding her own business as usual. She had cut herself off from most of the others, leaving just a small soft spot for her commander leader, and so had lots of time to run the borders every now and then. It was the least she could do with all her cuts and scrapes and burns still on her body, not to mention the damage done to her lungs by the smoke. She feared her voice might never be the same again, it was hoarse and rough now. That wasn't so nice. Some healed patches of scorched fur and skin were showing signs of hair growth again, but she was still a mess. Who knew how long it would take to get her usual look back. Her ears swiveled. A curse word, she knew, one she would never use for it would upset others. The one saying it must be upset too. But the voice wasn't familiar. A trespasser? So soon? Wallflower, despite the pain caused by walking and the friction of her body rubbing together, made her way quickly to the scene - tail high, chest forward, ears draped over her feminine skull. Though scorched, her fur stood up slightly, the best it could do given the circumstances, and she glared at the stranger. I'll have to ask you to leave. Was all she said, hoping she would not have the fight the stranger out their lands. But the war maiden, the tool she still was, was ready to defend the place her leader had wanted to settle in so very badly. RE: and when the levee breaks - Phoenix - April 21, 2018 A tired and irritable Phoenix returned to the Creek at a snail's pace. He was ready for a long nap, anywhere would do, but he crossed a foreign scent on the property that unfortunatel meant that his job here wasn't over. He knew the packscent—Morningside—but for it to be here, un-escorted, meant that something foul was afoot. Following the intruder's trail, he came upon he scene that had started too recently for him to make heads or tails of at first. He didn't seem to be needed, but he couldn't be sure. He kept a fair distance—one would have to raise their voice to be heard—but in a show of support to the Creek (although he didn't know the pale, singed wolf from a snowy stump), Phoenix began to ominously pace in a broad circle around the two. He weaved through the trees, falling in and out of sight as both landscape and distance provided him with cover. Somewhere in the background, the Jaws theme plays. *lurks for now* Phoenix will continue to silently circle at a wide girth unless he is called/addressed. In that case, tag me, otherwise: skip me at will!
RE: and when the levee breaks - Shale - April 21, 2018 Seemingly out of nowhere, a young woman appeared, head held high. Shale looked up as she drew closer, brows raising at her appearance. She might have been beautiful, at her best, but she looked worn down, and her pelt was. . . He'd only seen it once before; they told him it was fire. He felt some pity for her, and then she spoke. "Excuse me?" Shale asked, voice incredulous. He was normally more easy-going than this, but his nerves were shot after all that had transpired, and to have this woman accost him, for seemingly no reason. . . "Pardon me, miss, but I don't know what you're talking about." He thought he caught movement in the trees, and bristled, gray-toned pelt beginning to puff up. This had the looks of an ambush, and he didn't like it one bit. RE: and when the levee breaks - Koji - April 22, 2018 Ever since Chusi went into heat, Koji had felt like he was walking on eggshells with the constant need to glance behind his back every five minutes. It’s probably because part of him knew what they were doing was wrong, or at least in the past he’d been taught it was wrong, but there was still the instinctual factor that came into play as well. He had the overwhelming desire to chase off any males in Chusi’s vicinity and that was on one of his good days. So when he caught a whiff of not just one but two male strangers dangerously close and completely unwelcome, Koji immediately set off in their direction. It was only when he closed the distance between himself and the unwanted guests did he realize they were trespassing. The fur along his spine prickled as he approached the scene, tail arched high above his back as he descend upon the greyscale male, completely forgetting that there was a second unfamiliar scent lurking about them. However, unlike his pale companion, Koji didn’t give any warnings. He saw a threat to both himself and Swiftcurrent and the low, agitated growl that rumbled in his chest was the only heads-up he gave the interloper before lunging at the stranger’s hocks. He aimed only to drive the intruder off rather than to kill but, should the infiltrator be foolish enough to fight back in any way, Koji would most certainly be pushed over the edge and turn to more desperate measures in attempting to rid the creek of this unwanted invader. RE: and when the levee breaks - Wallflower - April 22, 2018 Her red tipped ears swiveled atop her blonde head. She knew not of Phoenix being one of them, his howl having come from afar at the claiming hour. So that had to mean the trespasser had a friend, hiding, somewhere. She peered into the area surrounding them. Why must everything be solved with violence? Why could they not just leave when told? Stone faced still, she curled her singed tail over her backside. She was the boss for now, and a deadly one at that. I will not ask again. My pack resides here. You are not wel...-That was when the unfamiliar ember colored wolf came upon them. He smelled of something, something Wallflower couldn't place. She took a deep breath and then followed the other's lead, lunging for a back leg. She knew she must never kill again, but she would for Swiftcurrent Creek and the babes that were to come. RE: and when the levee breaks - Shale - April 22, 2018 There wasn't much time that elapsed between Shale's query and the maelstrom that would be upon him. He caught the word pack in the woman's rebuttal, and was about to offer his own question on the matter--where in the hell were the scent markers, and how'd he missed them?--when a brown blur came seemingly out of nowhere, nipping at his hocks. The woman soon followed, and Shale found himself being driven inexorably back by snapping jaws, outstretched claws. "Whoa, whoa, what the fuck?!" he exclaimed, face set in a snarl but otherwise not offering any sort of defense, even though the woman dealt a pretty good bite to his ankle. If this was indeed a pack, and he'd inadvertently strayed past the borders, then he had fucked up. His stomach dropped, and he took several steps back, tail low, eyes flashing from calm to furious to calm once more. "Stop, damn it! I wasn't here to cause any trouble," Shale insisted, voice ringing across the open land. "I've made a mistake. I wasn't aware of any borders when I came here. Hell, I didn't even know there was a pack here--I thought the closest was Easthollow." His right rear paw was liberally covered in blood, and the cut sting. Wincing, Shale drew in a deep breath--and thought he caught the acrid odor of territorial markings, somewhere nearby. "Well, shit," he remarked, more to himself than anybody. He kept retreating from the wolves, gaze wide and wary. "Which pack are you? When did you get here?" RE: and when the levee breaks - Koji - April 22, 2018 sorry for this rude boi. feel free to land any attacks on him! What a surprise. The idiot who lacked a nose apparently also lacked a brain. How fitting. Koji wasn’t here to make conversation nor did he have any intention of stopping his onslaught in order to hear the male’s side of the story. He didn’t care if it was a mistake or not, the dude was trespassing and for some reason or another the stranger just didn’t quite get it through that thick skull of his that he wasn’t welcomed here. Had he been smart enough to just shut it and run there might have been some forgiveness to come at a later date, but no, the dumbass dared to start questioning them. He had heard enough and by the time the greyscale male had finished his rambling, Koji had reached his breaking point. It was no longer his concern if his blows were fatal and he refused to believe any blood shed from this point on would be on his hands. “GET THE FUCK OUT” he hissed between attacks, lips peeling back to reveal freshly stained crimson teeth. It was the final warning given before Koji dove for the man’s neck with the full intention of sinking his fangs into the tender flesh and ending the poor, confused idiot’s life. RE: and when the levee breaks - Wallflower - April 23, 2018 This was nothing personal for Wallflower. This was business. No matter if they had gotten along under different circumstances, the stranger was now a defiant trespasser that refused to simply up and leave. She'd rather have solved the issue without the violence her presumed packmate had brought to the table, but it was inevitable now. Crimson blood spilled from the stranger's ankle, painting her blonde fur a lighter red hue. The taste was awfully familiar. It was the exact same taste as her commander's nape, dripping due to his own blood, whom she had grabbed and tugged at to try and save him. I think leaving would be the better course of action for you.She commented softly in her hoarse voice, still reliving her memories. But there was no use. Her presumed packmate had had enough of the stranger and as he charged, so did she, her only intention being to chase him out with quick nips at his ankles and legs. RE: and when the levee breaks - Phoenix - April 23, 2018 As things have unexpectedly escalated, I figured the responsible thing to do is to start actively participating :3
Phoenix heard none of what happened with the wind in his ears. After watching the initial charge of his dark compatriot, he had elected to throw his weight in behind him without much thought as to what was really going on. Trespassers weren't a problem as far as he was concerned—they could even be recruited under certain circumstances—but he was aware that this wasn't his birthplace, nor was this a system organized under those like him. He ignored the thoughts of "what I would've done instead" and threw his entire support behind the assault of the perceived intruder. Both male and female Creeker had engaged by the time Phoenix made the scene directly. And if it wasn't simply an act of chasing him off by this point, he would attempt at full-tilt, to bowl the Morningsider over and get a hold of his ruff. RE: and when the levee breaks - Shale - April 23, 2018 Oh, for fuck's sake. There was no reasoning with these wolves. He barely heard the woman's next sentiment, nor the male's holler, as the blood pounded in his ears and he turned tail to run. The latter of the two landed a nice gash onto his shoulder--reopening the wound left by the turkey; fantastic--and then there was a third, the fleeting shadow he thought he'd seen in the brush, leaping into the fray. He was angry, and wanted to fight, but knew that doing so would bring forth his brother's wrath. . .not something he wanted to play with, right now. Especially with Pema likely pregnant. He swallowed his pride, saving it for another day. Without another word, Shale took off running the opposite direction, not stopping until he was well away from those bastards. RE: and when the levee breaks - Constantine - April 25, 2018 Cameo.
His eyes slid over the group of his wolves, watching with quiet consideration. He had only come upon the end of it – a wolf running from their land and with angered jaws snapping behind him. He remained far enough that it wasn’t likely he drew any attention, nor did his façade give way his thought on the matter. He knew next to nothing of the dark wolf that lead the charge – Wallflower and Phoenix being two he was more acquainted with, the former more so.Trusting the judgement of his subordinates, the Alpha turned away from the scene, his stocky form briskly picking up pace to seek out and check on his mate. She was due any day now, and he at least knew their borders were being maintained. |
