finding purpose - Sunflash - May 20, 2018 I've been told that Sunflash is technically a member of Undersea, so nobody freak out. He's not actually a Lone Wolf.
Sunflash could not remember his life or anything about himself, but he was throwing himself into pack life as much as he could. He had waded into the ocean water and was now waiting for little fish to come around so that he could try to catch them. He might as well make himself useful, right? Besides, the act of having something to do kept his mind off of the fact that he had no memory. Perhaps under other circumstances, the fact that he been vomited onto the beach by the sea would cause him to hate the sea, but in this case, the thought of leaving Undersea terrified him. He couldn’t make himself leave when these wolves were the ones who had saved him. Instead he spent his days wandering the coastline, hunting fish and staring out into the ocean… He hoped he would have a real purpose soon. RE: finding purpose - Cephaloryn - May 20, 2018 hope ya don't mind me tossing Rokig in!
He was trying to get familiar with the new place, it wasn't very big which meant he could spend more time learning each little detail. His body would need time adjusting to the new setting. There was an almost constant overwhelming - in a good way if that was possible - amount of things for his sense to take in. The golden form he spotted was no exception to his amped senses. Silver eyes merely watched for a moment as his nostrils flared. There was nothing familiar which was to be expected. A low woof escaped him as he carefully moved closer, trying to remain mindful of personal space. It would not hurt for him to start getting to know the faces who occupied this island with him. RE: finding purpose - Sunflash - May 20, 2018 Sunflash spun around, almost angrily, before he remembered himself. He was safe. It didn’t matter if he couldn’t remember anything. He was safe in Undersea. He was safe on this island. No one had tried to harm him yet or kick him out. He took a breath, and then let out a return woof. Maybe this would be his first real friend? Maybe he could help him learn to fish? Sunflash began making his way back to the dry sand. “You know how to fish?” he asked, his voice still raw from being caught in the ocean storm which had tossed him onto this island. RE: finding purpose - Cephaloryn - May 20, 2018 His tail swayed slowly in a low position, ears pushed forward slightly with curiosity. A soft shake of his head was given at first. "No." He had seen fish before but had never thought to actually try to get them. There had always been other options. His silver gaze looked about at all the water with the realization that he ought to change that thinking.
"Do you?" His tones soft but curious. Rokig would have no problem with asking for a lesson or two if someone here knew something he didn't. There were plenty of skills left for him to gain or refine. RE: finding purpose - Sunflash - May 21, 2018 Sunflash almost turned away completely when the other male said he didn’t know how to fish. What was the point of speaking to him if the guy couldn’t help him? But then he was asked a question and turned back again. “No, I don’t,” he replied, and then turned away again. “But I’m going to learn.” He waded out into the water again, ignoring the other’s existence, and stared down into the shallow water. He felt something brush his ankle, and snapped at it quickly, but he came up with only seaweed and spat it back into the water with a frustrated growl. He would figure this out, he just had to keep at it! RE: finding purpose - Cephaloryn - May 22, 2018 His brows briefly drew together as the other seemed to ignore him. Rokig quickly let his features soften before daring to wade out into the water too. Respectfully, he picked a spot a few wolf lengths down from the seaweed hunter. The Tauhou was not looking to steal anything that may be near his pack mate but he was now interested in learning how to do this fishing task.
"We can learn together." His voice soft as if the fish might be trying to eavesdrop on the two wolves. RE: finding purpose - Sunflash - May 23, 2018 Success determined by dice roll.
Sunflash nodded almost imperceptibly to the male’s comment, halfway ignoring him still. He was too busy being angry that he’d failed the first attempt. Seaweed! He couldn’t believe he’d mistaken seaweed for a fish! How dumb could he be? Just because he’d lost his memories didn’t mean he should forget the difference between a live animal and an inanimate object! Ugh! He kept his golden gaze on the prize, watching another fish swim closer and closer. These fish must be dumb if they swim so close to us, he thought to himself. Maybe they think our legs are sticks or something… As the fish swam ever closer, Sunflash’s eyes hardened with determination. Suddenly, he dove into the water, jumping on the fish the way a coyote will attempt to jump on mice to kill them. Somehow, it worked. Somehow, he pinned the wriggling fish to the sandy bottom of the shallows and quickly bit into it, killing it. Then he lifted his head, holding a limp fish in his jaws, and wagged his tail in Rokig’s direction. Look what I did! RE: finding purpose - Cephaloryn - May 28, 2018 fishing success decided by diceroll in discord
His tail swayed at the golden stranger's success, a genuine grin spreading across his features. The chaotic movements of his pack mate's catch must have sent any nearby fish into a frenzy to get away from the new fishers. Silver eyes darted as he quickly tried to asses which one would be best to try and snag. The glistening of the scales and the ripples of the water made his timing hard to pin perfectly. As jaws latched onto something in the water Rokig quickly yanked his head back up. He only had the scaly creature by its tail and so — like any animal in danger — it thrashed about wildly, threatening to hit his face if it swayed too far. Rokig wasn't sure what to do but he knew he couldn't let go. Eventually, the creature simmered down, a sign of its end. He felt accomplished and knew he needed to go stash this somewhere or perhaps even take it to someone who needed it. With a small chuff, he dismissed himself and took the fish with him. |
