northern lights shine brighter - Galileo - June 15, 2014

So I just realized my post suddenly vanished.. so yeah.. -.-
here it is @Danica

It was the second night Galileo spent as a fully pledges member of the Swiftcurrent Creek, and as the rising sun from the third day ascended from the depths of the earth, painting a trail of orange and yellow shades across the sky, the peppered wolf crawled from his self-proclaimed home. He had taken the liberty to claim the abandoned den as his property, and hoped it could stay that way, though truth be told Galileo would propably put up a fight before renouncing to his new home.

The male trotted lightly towards the edge of the creek, where he bent down to take a long drink. He enjoyed the feeling of the cold water sliding down his throat and suddenly only the sound of the creek gurgling softly as the water crashed against the rocks. That moment right there was the sealing point of the deal he had made with Fox when he pledged his loyalty to the pack. He had a place to sleep in, and companionship what else could a former lone wolf ask for?

When he was finally satisfied he lifted his head slowly, his tongue lashing as he tried to grasp a few water drops that rolled off his chin. He shot a joyful glance at the sky that was now begginig to come alive with little specks of white floating by. Then he set off determined to find another wolf, he had joined the pack to escape the loneliness of his previous life and the clouds rolling above his head carried the promise of a perfect day to meet new packmates and maybe expand his small friend list which so far only contained Bazi and Fox.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Danica RIP - June 15, 2014

Near the bank, Danica stood motionless in the river, golden eyes watching the fish dart about hungrily. She wasn't much of a fisher before, but since she liked the taste and the river provided easy access, she figured she'd do a lot more of it now. Slowly the dark shapes flitted closer, tauntingly ghosting about just out of reach. Come on, she thought, holding down her characteristic impatience with difficulty. Just a bit more.

There! With a snap her jaws closed around one of the silvery shapes, lifting it from the water with a massive splash. Now drenched, she hauled her kill to the bank, then tore in with a gusto. The fish wasn't huge, but it took the edge off of her hunger. She considered going back in for another one, but decided against it. She'd catch something a bit more filling later. For now, she set to cleaning water and fish from her pelt. As she did, she watched the riverbank idly.

Before long, another wolf passed by, jauntily stepping in a happy way that immediately set Danica's teeth on edge. What the heck was he so happy about? Be nice, or no? She thought to herself, then grinned. Since when was she ever nice? "Hey, sunshine! Who shoved a rainbow up your rear end?" Her tone wasn't mean, but he just looked so frickin happy she couldn't help the sass.

With his chin lifted and his tail swaying from side to side, Galileo jogged along the edge of the creek, his ears listeninf intently to the soft murmurs the wind carried. Suddenly a voice, that certaintly did not come from the breeze called out to him. He turned inmediately, his rich amber eyes searching for the culprit.

At the other side of the creek he could see another wolf, a female with a dirty blonde coat and shiny yellow eyes. The male stood motionless for a moment, unreactive to the girl's mocking words. The tip of his tail flickered like a snake and the male gave the blunt girl his signature bow that so far had managed to charm both Bazi and Fox. After all he did not wan't to start off with the wrong foot.

After giving the girl and example of his chivalry, he padded closer so they were only separated by the gurgling current of the creek. "Morning miss," he greeted her with a flick of his tail, "The same one that painted your coat with dirty shades of yellow" he shot back, not meaning to offend the female who he actually considered bery pretty. Just to mock her the same way she had. After the words left his mouth a charming smile took hold of his face; a peace plead.

She lifted an eyebrow as he bowed, but snorted at his retort. "I highly doubt that, but fair point." She looked him over dubiously. Obviously they belonged to the same pack here, though she had not encountered him before now. He seemed pleasant enough, standing there with that ridiculous smile on his face once more, so she decided to throw him a bone, so to speak.

"I am Danica, new here, though you already figured that out I'm sure. And you are?" Still she looked at him, trying to get a better read. She didn't not approve, for he hadn't been offended by her jesting. There may be hope for him yet.

Galileo brushed off Danica's reply deciding not to engage on her game of witty remarks, he had no need to do so. As an older wolf he saw no point in these snarky comebacks to him it was well..childplay.

Still the young girl seemed to have more sense than that and proceeded to introduce herself. The male saved her name to the back of his mind, "A pretty name for a pretty girl." he barked softly. Of course when Galileo recognized her evident beauty he did not mean to suggest he felt an attraction for her. Something that was worth clarifying since young girls might mistake a compliment for a love declaration. no pedo

He blinked at the female, noting she was new just like him. "Pleased to meet you Danica," he barked as he gave her a gentle smile, "My name is Galileo and like you, I'm new to the pack" he continued motioned briefly to the gorgeous lands around them.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Danica RIP - June 17, 2014

Danica's a bit fond of nicknames XD I think Galileo might have found his. Though if he gets offended she'll stop, she likes to push buttons

Danica did nothing to acknowledge the compliment - she was aware. He wasn't bad himself, if one was into that sort of thing. "You know, sunshine, I thought it was strange that I didn't immediately recognize you" she joked, flashing an overly sweet smile. "Last one, I promise."

"So, also-new, in all seriousness. Where'd you come from before this?" She had a vague curiosity, it would really be small matter to her if he chose not to answer. Honestly she was tired of wandering alone. It wasn't as much fun when you were stuck to a limited turf. Might as well kill a bit of time making conversation here. Besides, he had a good sense of humor and seemed relatively well-adjusted. Practically perfect company, especially compared to some of her previous associates.

The peppered male's eyes beamed at the use of the word sunshine to refer to him, he thought it was rather funny for her to insist on calling him that way. He shot her a goofy smile accompanied with a soft wag of his black-tipped tail.

A smile that died quickly when she asked of his previous life, it seemed that the world would never rest until he revealed his dark past to everyone.. ok maybe he was exaggerating, but it was strange everyone asked this same questions, or maybe he was just too paranoid after having to spill the beans to both Bazi and Fox.

Either way, Galileo would have to learn to accept that no matter how far he went, the horrid question he loathed so much would always appear, or he'd just have to be a better liar and keep his cool when the time came to answer. "Oh, I've gone a long way, dear girl, but I was raised up north" he concluded with a shrug, "What about you?" he asked quickly to avoid any other questions to be shot at him.

Seemed like he liked her nickname. That was... surprising. Normally wolves got offended when she gave them what she thought was a friendly hard time. Plus one for having a sense of humor.

He didn't seem so happy about her question though. She ignored his sidestep, not because she didn't want to push, but because it didn't matter. So he didn't want to say where he came from, fine. Some wolves harped far too much on the past. She preferred his silence to that.

"Ahh, here and there. I tend not to last too long in any one place, Alphas are fickle souls, with dear Fox as the exception so far." She didn't go into details too much either, but in her case because her tale was boring as they come. Bouncing from one pack to the next was more exciting in the happening than the telling.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Galileo - June 21, 2014

friendly spar? :D

Now they were standing directly in front of one another, while Danica answered his question the balck and white splotched male listened intendly, with bright eyes and a gentle tail wag. He was happy to say he could now call Danica a friend, she seemed like a fine young lady, just like the pack's head girls Fox and Bazi.

Then as the fiery wolf popped into the conversation Galileo gave a sincere nod agreeing with her completely, "Yes Fox is a great leader, she's fierce and knows how to keep everyone in line. And she has her youth favouring her" he barked, knowing that while with youth came strenght and with the years wisdom, Fox seemed to have her fair share of both. At least to what he had seen so far.

Then the male did something that surpised himself, he leaned forward and after giving a quick sniff at the side of Danica's cheek he attempted to nibble at her ear while giving a soft playful bark. It was mere instinct that told him to do that, perhaps after being deprived from contact for so long his mind craved some socialization. After that he took a step back and slightly stretched his paws forward, a half play bow.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Danica RIP - June 23, 2014

Ohh yes please! Now I can count this for rank =D

"True." Fox was quite a bit younger than she herself, though really it didn't seem so. Something about her allowed her to carry her rank even with her youth. Danica had never guessed that she would accept the leadership of one significantly younger than she, but here she was.

His abrupt change in manner took her aback and she immediately pulled back, not sure what his game was about. It became clear, though, as he took up that age-old posture. Really now, she thought, highly amused. Seems age hasn't slowed his enthusiasm any. Alright, I'll play.

She lowered herself across from him, mirroring his bow, a slow smile spreading across her face. She hadn't play-sparred in a very long time and for a second wondered at how to even begin. Her hesitation would give him time to make the first move, should he decide to.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Galileo - July 20, 2014

As she reciprocates his desire to play, Galileo stands on his hind legs and lunges towards her where they engage in a playful dance of shoving and pushing. His weight proves to be a plus in this situation and he manages to make her back up a couple of steps.

Then after a flurry of growls and yips they begin to launch more attacks in the forms of headbutts and careless nudges. After they both receive their fair share of pushes, paws begin to fly as the attempt to jab each other, aiming mostly to the face.

When one of Danica's blows meets his chest, the peppered male almost looses his footing. The impact takes the air in his lungs and leaves him confused for a brief second until he drops to the ground to block her path and dive for her feet.

RE: northern lights shine brighter - Danica RIP - July 30, 2014

The spar started and escalated quickly, both parties skilled but checking their blows. Neither of them could afford to do the other real damage, nor would they like to. He put her on the defensive more than she expected and she gave an internal nod to his surprising skill.

The match is even for a while, each dodging around one another and exchanging blows. Her moment of victory comes as she is able to give him a solid whack to the chest. However, the moment is short lived as he blocks her from getting underneath. She draws up, unable to prevent him from catching her foot. As he does so she becomes overbalanced, falling heavily on her side and knocking the air from her lungs.

She laughs, then stands, shaking her head. "Alright, alright, you win!" Breathless, she inhales deeply, then exhales with a sigh. She wasn't the type to stretch a fight out forever and she knew when she was beat. Besides, this wasn't a situation where it was necessary to push oneself. If Galileo were an enemy it would be an entirely different story. As it was, she would cut it short here. "Nice moves, Sunshine! Good spar."
