for storms before were as nothing more - Erzulie - June 19, 2018

as of late, there had been upheaval within ironsea. erzulie kept her too-active psyche busied with daily forays into the sea, one that left her small body hardened by the lash of waves. good hunting inside the packland, but there was more to be found outside of it.
today was not that day — today the harlot sat poised upon the shoreline, some small delicate whisper of tune rising in her throat. cinnamon forepaws sorted gently through a tangle of kelp. here there was something to be found, for the wide wet sea-plants made excellent bandages. at length, her mintglow gaze tipped toward the sky, but soon she had returned to her task, extricating leaves to lay unfurled upon the sand.

The voice was what had called her. Julep was simply walking by the woman, minding her own business when her soft, sweet tune reached her ears. She slowed down, her last thought had vanished. The woman was stunning. Gold and cinnamon all over her glorious ivory figure, and that was just from behind.

Kelp. Her paws were delicately sorting out a tangle of it, Julep noticed with a glance, and suddenly it became the most interesting activity. Julep settled on the sand close by, admiring the unknown woman as she enjoyed her voice. That was all she wanted. She actually kind of needed it.

thanks for joining! gonna draw it up to the present :)

her song did not fade as her ears swiveled at the sound of gentle pawsteps upon sand. at length, erzulie paused, turning her muzzle beneath its spiced mask along one shoulder to regard the slender thing. it was a girl of earth and fire tones who had drawn close, a delicate-boned creature limned with curiosity. "come closah, ti kras ti pijon,"  the harlot murmured, cheeks rounded in a warm smile as she sought the half-distant features of her packmate.
returning to her task, she found her chai-tea pelt lifted and caressed by some warm salted zephyr; she was still then, lifting her face to the heavens and breathing the fragrance of waves lapping upon sand, tossing themselves against stone.

sorry about my slow ass

She was invited to come closer, and like she'd been charmed Julep moved to sit next to the caramel-pelted beauty as the breeze sprayed slat water on their figures. You have a beautiful voice, she said, not only the sound of it, but the accent and the foreign words. It sounded like a dream. Then she realized she'd been staring too long and diverted her gaze upon the kelp at hand though the sea maiden was by far more alluring.

im slow!

the harlot was not unaware of the admiring glances given her by the young woman. thus, from time to time as she worked, erzulie met the lovely gaze of her packmate.

”you be havin’ beautiful eyes, girl,” the chai-tea woman murmured finally, setting aside her task to focus more completely on her delicate counterpart. ”what be your name?” here she held tonguetip between teeth; her mismatched eyes glinted with a vague invitation.

I'm slower X(

Unexpectedly Julep was hit by a soft spoken compliment, and she could feel her cheeks rise in temperature. She looks away with a blink, feeling both flattered and embarrassed to even be noticed by the sea maiden. A shy Thank you, gets hushed by the wind, and to the request that was made for her name Julep responded in the same anxious manner: I'm Julep. Julep Cairn,

Her song had somehow reminded Julep of her mother, Doe, which she was every day more sure would never be found again. She had been abandoned, her and Isengrim, and both had suffered greatly for it. And still, in the middle of her grief and her rage, Julep still longed to spend a night in her mother's warm embrace.

Could you... Sing that again? she asked, knowing that her request was most likely a weird one. But still even without knowing this woman Julep felt the kind of peace and warmth around her that can make you trust in a stranger.

bit of powerplay <3

the girl was shy, not easily warmed by compliments. erzulie ran the edge of her own tongue along dark lips, nodding toward her packmate. "aye," the harlot answered with a warm smile, borrowing a word from her lover's lexicon. "i can do dat for you."
pushing aside the kelp, erzulie inched toward the girl, shifting along the sand perhaps as if she were a some sidewinder, honeycream and two hues in the gaze that glowed with some intrigue. an old melody, string and bone and incense woven together on the tune she had been taught almost from birth — erzulie crooned each syllable through the small expanse of space betwixt herself and the cairn. and her gaze though soft did not deviate from that of lovely julep.
