Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Dacio - June 23, 2018 His eyes had been opened for a number of days and, at two weeks of age, Dacio's world seemed to have changed considerably. Everything remained a haze and likely would for some time, but he was able to differentiate between each of his den-mates by sight. Mother, the provider of milk and warmth, was primarily pale-furred and the other main adult presence was a blur of warmer hues. His two siblings were about his size: one a blob of brown and white patches and the other a dull blonde. Other adults came and went from time to time, but he remained unable to decipher who they were. It didn't matter, however, as he simply didn't care: he was content with those he did know. Having recently found his feet and the ability to stand with newfound strength, Dacio's curiosity drove him to set about exploring his surroundings and, on extremely wobbly paws, sent him toppling directly into whichever unfortunate sister happened to be in his path. RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Opalia - June 24, 2018 She was wholly absorbed in her own bleary wandering around the den floor, and had thought she had managed to scoot away from the others when lo and behold, her brother comes toppling on over into her business all of a sudden. With her focus now quick upon him, and this not being part of the plan, the girl loosed her own shrill complaint: a sudden skrrrreeee for all in earshot to enjoy.
With all the sluggish grace a few weeks of life would grant her, she tried to get out of his path and back to the very important wobbling she had been working on without him getting in her way!! She stuck her short snout in the air and feeling extra indignant about interruption today (not enough nap maybe?), she marched herself towards the light--hopefully out of reach this time.
RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Dacio - June 28, 2018 The golden girl objected, of course, as Dacio stumbled with all the grace of a drunk directly into her. She turned on him, jaws parting to scream in his direction, to which the boy ducked away in automatic submission. With his ears not yet properly functional, he was unable to make sense of Opalia's complaint - but the pitch was high enough to make him shake his head. Stormy eyes blinked up at her pitifully as he poured his lip, appearing defeated and quietly apologetic. She didn't seem to acknowledge this effort, instead thrusting her muzzle upward to toddle away from him. Dacio, with his short attention span and having failed to learn from his litter-mate's outrage, focused only on the inviting sway of her tail. Pulling himself together, the bold Goufa wobbled after Opalia and reached out in attempt to grip the tufted blonde appendage between his growing milk teeth. RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Opalia - July 05, 2018 She worked her little legs hard, but progress stayed too slow to really help her get anywhere too fast--especially when she was still trying to put off that energy of major exasperation, because how dare?? But, that was far from the extent of it, little did she know in the heartbeat before her brother captured her tail in his teeth.
This finding, though her reaction times were kind of clunky still, brought forth more complaints and effectively riled her. She yipped and whirled herself back around at him, aiming to get away and gather up a small pounce despite such short space. Since she couldn't cut any tighter a circle with a stubby puppy body, she did her best anyway and tried to retaliate in full--and tell him that she found that to be unfavorable, so now he got to deal with her shoving into his side with all the momentum she could spin forth.
RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Dacio - July 07, 2018 Success! With his sister's scruffy blonde tail gripped between his jaws, Dacio grinned triumphantly and emitted a soft "grrr!" in his eagerness to initiate playtime. Opalia, unfortunately, did not seem interested in her greyscale sibling's proposition, choosing instead to round on him yet again. The boy released her at once, tongue poking anxiously between his dark lips as he once more ducked to avoid her attack, but she shoved roughly against him. Dacio yipped, surprised, as her force shoved him to the ground. He flopped submissively onto his side, a paw extended out in a poor attempt to stop her from assaulting him further. RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Opalia - July 11, 2018 Maybe she had been a little bit rougher than necessarily intended without her having a good grasp on what she could even do, but when she got what she felt she wanted, satisfaction warmed her--even if she could only interpret it vaguely. Within her tiny scope of things, it was more than enough. His tumble sated her sourness plenty, and the grumpy girl didn't pursue anything more than that because of it. Her backing off left him to do as he desired, she hoped: either stay that way or not, and join her in some way she wasn't feeling offended about. She huffed at him, though, hoping he would think twice about nabbing her tail next time especially.
She grumbled some low puppy grunts and turned her back to him so she could try to plod away again, this time hopefully to greater success now that she didn't aim towards the light of the entrance. Instead, she slowly, but steadily, started to wander back towards closer to their mother's side, leaving her brother to come too or not. She had made up her mind.
RE: Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. - Dacio - July 14, 2018 She stood over him, and Dacio's tiny tongue poked anxiously between his lips to flick the air submissively - as though reaching the blonde infant's pale chin. At his rear, his tufted black tail twitched and his big baby blue eyes appeared pleading as he emitted a series of soft whimpers in apology. He didn't understand her aggressive outburst but having pissed her off twice already in such a short period of time, Dacio would certainly think twice about upsetting her further. Opalia's sharp gaze released its hold on him, freeing the ashen youngster to gather himself again. Dust clung to his downy pelt and he rose a forelimb, eager to follow his sister in his undying curiosity despite having been bested by her. He kept his distance, however, tagging along several feet as she wandered around the den. When their trailing returned them to @Portia's side, Dacio blinked up at the piebald adult, seeking her comfort. |
