with marten and nunataq playing with laurel's puppies and merrick in a deep slumber, indra slipped from the den. she could never be from merrick long -- soon enough he would wake, and squeals would pour out from the den in shrill displeasure. for now, she had some peace and quickly made for the cache.
she knew @Tadec had visited it recently, for his scent crossed the ground and there was a new depression with damp soil heaped atop of it. indra placed a paw on the barrow and dug, extracting a tattered partridge from the dirt. she was lucky to have him and his additions and set into the bird with a mother's ravenous hunger.
