rain drove between the canopy above, slicking down her pelt and offering relief from the burning day. showers had been moving through all evening, offering a few moments of onslaught before fading to near-blue sky. she nosed at a roughly scratched indent in the damp soil, huffing when dust tickled her muzzle. 

withdrawing, she moved through beneath the canopy, rain thundering overhead yet gradually dying down. she was content, for now, to wander the trees, in no mood to return to the plains anytime soon.
