i am an anarchist; an antichrist; an asterisk - Branwen - August 22, 2018 edit: oh woops im dumb, rolled a failure
Light filters hazily through the trees as she weaves between them, trailing a scent half-heartedly at first. She's on the right path, it seems; the trail grows stronger, and with it her investment in the hunt. She's more aware of her movements now, and her position relative to the trees and foliage, but her eyes are trained ahead where she thinks the fox lurks, waiting for it to step into view any moment.
She closes the distance quickly, finally catching a glimpse of her intended target, then focusing her sights on it as she nears. She rushes to make the kill, already a little weary of the chase — and is immediately surprised. The creature turns and sets upon her with desperate teeth and claws in a way she's never encountered before; not maddened, but bold and afraid. The fox's sharp bits rake across her face a few times, but she immediately abandons the situation and the smaller animal is more than happy to do the same. She only puts a few feet between them, cursing softly under her breath at her stinging face, at her own shame, and stops to quietly watch the fox disappear back into the trees. he wasn't given much free rein of the place, but with so much time and energy devoted to heda--he still hasn't been allowed to see her, goddamnit!--he was able to slip through the cracks somewhat easily. especially if his forays involved wolves further down the food chain, so to speak. the woman he saw today was unfamiliar, and she was--
uh, trying to fight a fox? and the fox was winning. lol sorry. denali came closer, eyes on the russet creature as it fled into the trees. he gave her a bemused look, ears twitching a bit with sympathy. "that was shitty," he remarked, lips pulling tight in a grimace. "foxes are assholes." he expected her to jump, him having come out of nowhere like he did. he wasn't a very welcome presence in this territory--trust him, he was well aware of that fact. "you live here, too?" well, duh. but he didn't really know how else to start a conversation with a girl who just got her ass kicked by a fox. RE: i am an anarchist; an antichrist; an asterisk - Branwen - September 06, 2018 She's too embarrassed to be startled when a stranger appears, but when she gets a proper look at him she forgets that, too. He's... odd-looking, but maybe nice? She's inclined to think of him in slightly kinder terms, at least. Until he asks a dumb question, and her first instinct is to say no shit, buddy.
Uh, yeah,Look, she doesn't have many friends here. Even a weird twitchy, sorta sick-looking outsider is probably better than nothing — she still can't really face Blixen (at least she's safe, but that conversation is going to be awkward if it ever happens) and that rude man she'd met seems to be gone now. Who brought you here? She wonders, glancing around and hoping no one else saw her fight with the fox. RE: i am an anarchist; an antichrist; an asterisk - Denaleee - September 14, 2018 denali shrugged. "don't really remember their names," he mumbled, looking away. "really big woman, looks like heda. and her son, i think? a white wolf. they picked me up outside sleeping dragon."
he was bored already. not to be a dick, but not much outside of heda really stimulated him, much. and they still hadn't let him see her! it was a terribly dull existence in drageda. "sorry again about the fox," denali added. "bye for now." he turned and wobbled away, looking to engage himself in something else. if he couldn't be with heda, he might as well just be alone. |
