the meadow was quiet, peaceful, even, and the greyscale envoy wandered amidst the dying blooms. here and there droned a bumblebee, fat and simple, but most else kept well away from her. ash still tainted her pelt, the burns of her legs garish. she was surprised at the stillness that settled within her, too - perhaps she was becoming accustomed to grief. she wondered a great many things in the wake of the fire, but those thoughts seemed distant as the Maplewood behind her. she'd be back within the day, but could not help but take a moment longer here.
