just over the horizon - Hydra - September 11, 2018

Hydra and Lyra traveled by nightfall.

They moved together in unison, mute and observant, following their noses and the words Alya had spoken to them that would guide them to Easthollow. When morning came, they rest, but as night came again, they resumed their search.

There was not a lick of Alya's scent here, but if she had passed through a while ago there would not be. They had made it to the top and now worked their way downward. She listened for howls, and sought any sign of her, but did not call for Alya herself. She did not know where it was that Sunspire rested, and she hardly wanted them to know they were not around to protect the Glen. Not that it mattered at this point; their starvation likely weakened them to the point that Revui could take on any of them. In fact, she was even confident he could beat their leader.

Hydra did not enjoy being away from home under these circumstances. But she felt she was going in the right direction, and so pressed on.

RE: just over the horizon - Bruges - September 11, 2018

MEEP.

Since his soiree with Fire, Bruges had strayed from the Tuktu Hinterlands, lest she go looking for him, wanting more from him than what he was willing to give to anyone in particular. Though Bruges did have a very fine eye for quality, and aimed to surround himself with beautiful things, he did, however, also prefer quantity, or having a select few precious things in his life. Thus, when it came to women, he preferred to surround himself with many pretty women, rather than aim his admirations at just one of them.

He'd returned, however, to the very mountainside where he had met a particularly intriguing woman not long ago, though, perhaps subconsciously trying to seek her out again. There had been something so attractive about the way she'd played hard-to-get, witholding words and pushing him to flex his prowess as a dance partner. In the end, he still wasn't entirely sure what she thought of him- but she was one wolf who was definitely worth seeing more than once. She was the sort of wolf he could keep around for some time.

So imagine his pleasure- and soon thereafter, his confusion- upon seeing her prowling in the darkness, only to have an exact replica of her stepping in tandem at her side. He blinked as he watched the two females move, trying to tell himself that this couldn't be her- but everything, from her physique, to the texture and quality of their pelts, to the flashy blue of their eyes and even the little nick in their ear- everything was identical to the woman he'd met before...And to each other. One of those beautiful women had to be her twin, and one of them had to be her...But which one was it?

The tricky part, then, was to choose which one he should act familiar with. So, watching their facial expressions carefully, he approached with a familiar, friendly air, and a beguiling smile on his features. He knew for sure that one of them would give their identity away by telltale facial signs of recognition.

There was a wolf that came toward them at a confident, steady clip. Hydra saw his recognition and looked to Lyra, who looked back to her, before Hydra's gaze shifted back toward the male. Hydra could hardly believe her fortune; truly, the stars did align for her! She approached him, as he approached them, and Lyra demurely kept to the backdrop for now.

For her own part, much like Alya had, she remained silent, moving beside him to investigate his scents with a swaying tail. She was vaguely aware he was looking for Alya, but perhaps this would reveal to her when he had last seen her, should he permit her proximity.

The one looked to the other, and immediately, he thought he had them figured out. At first, he thought the leading lady was looking to the other to see if she recognized him- but her expression was more or less blank, so he assumed then that he'd been incorrect in assuming that the first one he'd taken note of hadn't been Alya. Now, however, noting the confidence with which she approached- the other holding back slightly, he thought it was likely the other way around. This was surely the lady he'd met not so long ago, who had managed to curl his feelings around a deft, sharpened claw.

...Or was it, though? Thinking back- she'd been difficult to read, and he'd felt as though she might turn and tear his throat out the whole time...So to approach him so calmly, could this truely be her? Or was she actually hanging back, watching her sister move forward, in an attempt to test him? Then again...It wouldn't be unlike her to try to lure him in yet again, by acting friendly and then turning to nip at him all of a sudden. There was really no way to tell which one was the lady he'd met before; they were absolutely identical, though they did carry slightly different scents in their pelts...But was that enough to give him a proper gauge on which one was Alya?

"A twin," He spoke, voice warm with amusement. "You've just doubled my pleasure, my beauty," He said, nodding his head politely to the sister who decided to hang back a bit- and it was then that he decided to make a definite decision. He had a 50/50 chance of getting it right, right? He moved forward, hoping to touch his nose affectionately to Hydra's cheek. "I'm glad to see you again." He said, tone quiet, but sincere.

He spoke, and as she sniffed at him she realized it had been a while since he had seen her sister. He was inundated in the scent of another woman, though, and her terrible jealousy flared for her sisters as much as it did herself. But it faded quickly; Alya was a flirt, and would not have fallen in love in a night. But perhaps this stranger had.

His nose made its way toward her muzzle, and Hydra was quick to deflect from such an advance, darting away impishly. Her eyes flashed brightly and in bemused fashion as he confirmed what she had only imagined. I am sure the pleasure would be yours, if you were right, she hummed, though her voice was not unkind. But there is a chance yet you might see her once more. There are not two of us, but three, she supplied, hearing Lyra's light laugh in the background. We are also looking for her, Hydra revealed, and stepped nearer to him, voice warm. Did you see which way it was that she went? She asked next. He was handsome, she realized. Alya had an eye for such. But she felt, if she must, she could overtake him. Somehow, though, this did not detract from his physical appeal.

Lawl. Bruges probably totally smells like a tramp :P

Like a doe, his beloved jigged sideways, whirling away from him but this time, he didn't pursue her. He hadn't expected her to whirl away so suddenly, and he wondered briefly if she moved because she was being modest in front of her sister- or if it was because he'd guessed wrong. He could see the same, coy smile on the other woman's face, and he found himself then taking a step forward- but he wasn't sure which of the two enchanting females he should go toward. He really didn't have a preference, at this point- they were both lovely.

At first, he opened his mouth when she said he was wrong, and he took one step toward the other sister, the expression on his face coy, as though to say you fooled me! but his gaze snapped back to Hydra when she continued, then, to surprise him even more. He was shocked, but definitely not discouraged. There were three of them?! What good fortune! Now, if only he could get them all in one place at one time, maybe have their sister vouch for him...But Hydra distracted him from his fantasies, momentarily at least, by asking him where her sister had gone.

Part of him wanted to play coy- but when faced by the two sisters, he thought better of it. He sat down, then, to imply he was as tame and gentle as a pussycat. He did want, after all, for his beauty's sisters to approve of him. "Well...I never would have imagined that such beauty could be replicated so perfectly, three times over," He said- partially wanting them to warm up to him, but he wasn't exactly lying, either. Finding one wolf as beautiful as Alya had been had been quite a feat, or so he believed- and now he was being told that there were actually three of them.

"We met in the Vale, Northwest of here," He said, back on topic. "And that would have been...just over two weeks ago, I'm afraid." He said, and caught himself. "Too long," He said, with a velvety chuckle, but his laughter trailed off. "Is she missing?" He asked, then, his facial expression turning to concern. "When did you see her last?" He asked then, hoping there might be some sort of time frame for them both to work with.

Not many have such generous imaginations, came her rejoinder. There was no doubt she was pleased by his words; flattery made the heart grow fonder. Her receptiveness toward him was growing, though she reminded herself he was not her priority. To hear that she had headed toward the Vale, first, ought not to have surprised her. They had history, there—and perhaps she also sought to learn of Rannoch, and his location. Truly they had no interest, but Alya thought as Hydra did: ahead. With their frequency around the Wilderness, she supposed it was fair, at this point, to know, even if she did not care to.

Two weeks ago, the handsome stranger revealed. A little longer than that, she admitted, and to answer the other question, she licked her chops. I am not certain. I think she may be in some sort of trouble, she admitted. She knew that the encounter she had shared with this man had not gone wrong, as he was in one piece and lacking any telltale wounds. Not only this, but the way in which he had approached suggested he truly had been pleased to see her again. That was not a surprise to her, though. Alya could charm a stone if she wished to.

But she was not one for commitment, feigned or otherwise. She wondered how much she had enchanted this male, though. Would he seek her, even in passing? Or would he offer condolences? Hydra, impatient though she was, waited to see—ever critical of any potential suitor.

RE: just over the horizon - Bruges - September 12, 2018

Unable to stop himself, Bruges snorted lightly at Hydra's comment, and shook his head. "No imagination needed," He insisted, referencing the gift of beauty that all three sisters shared. He glanced to the other, then, wondering still if perhaps that was his Alya, playing coy- but she didn't seem to be holding back laughter, and instead, she seemed more focused on the conversation with regards to his information about Alya's whereabouts.

Apparently, Hydra had not seen her sister since before he had seen her. He gazed off in the direction of the Vale and tried to remember the direction she'd gone afterwards, but he wasn't sure he could pinpoint it from this far away. They'd been laying on the ground together for some time, and that had thrown off his sense of direction. He shook his head silently, but refocused when the mention of danger came up. His ears flicked back. This wasn't good.

Naturally, his first concern was for his own wellbeing; surely they didn't think he'd had something to do with Alya's disappearance...They were exactly the same size and shape as their sister, and surely they didn't expect someone as...Well, effeminate as him to be able to get rid of her without suffering a mark. "What makes you think that?" He asked, and he froze. "Is there...Is there someone you think who might've hurt her?" He asked. If there was, Bruges was no stranger to bravado, and he as much as anyone else would want to kick the stuffing out of someone who'd hurt a young, beautiful female, even though it was quite possibly well outside of his capabilities.

RE: just over the horizon - Hydra - September 12, 2018

His question was met with a prompt answer: I have seen wolves attack complete strangers without provocation or reason, she began. For she did not think that any of Rannoch's wolves would dare touch a hair on her head, and so she did not suspect them in this... for now. But she would find out for certain what transpired soon enough. And if that were the case, they likely would be easy to find, if she let them live, Hydra looked thoughtful. Reckless wolves often were, even without their scars. A fresh wound that would turn to one would be an identifier Hydra sought.

Perhaps you could help us, Hydra offered, ready to move on. She did not believe he would take her up on it, but she posed such a thing to him as he had already been looking for her before. Would he continue, or did that search end here for him? Or do you seek to return to the other woman you found, now? There was a teasing smile upon her lips as she spoke these words, committing such a scent to memory, wondering at his own ways.

RE: just over the horizon - Bruges - September 24, 2018

Bruges smiled fondly at the way Hydra spoke of her sister. Naturally, he'd had a lot of doubts about getting too close to Alya, at first. There had been something so wild and unpredictable about her that had driven him insane with both want and fear, causing each sensation to maximize the other. His admiration for Alya, and his affection for her, likely showed on his face as he remembered the encounter, toying with the sensations in his memory before Hydra's voice brought him back to reality- and that reality was that Alya was missing.

Bruges did not feel ashamed when Hydra pointed out that he'd been with another woman. He merely snorted softly and shook his head. As calm as a daisy on a breezeless day, he responded. "No. She meant nothing, and was absolutely nothing in comparison; low hanging fruit, if nothing else." After all, Fire had given in to temptation fairly easily...But then again, she hadn't exactly been sober, either. Alya had given him a run for his money, and had made him feel as though at any point, his life could be forfeit for it. Something about that little possibility of danger had appealed to him, and made him want her again. "What can I do to help?"

RE: just over the horizon - Hydra - September 24, 2018

Hydra was appeased by the words, though her features did not betray as much. She meant nothing, and was nothing in comparison—but then, who could ever hope to amount to she and her twins? It was a fool's errand, to be sure. Once one has dealt with any of them, they took a permanent residency within a corridor of their mind whether they liked it or not.

He asked how he could help, and Hydra looked thoughtful as she considered for a moment. Hydra imagined that Alya might be pleased herself, to see him again—to hear he had nobly decided to assist them in this task. Hydra would be pleased to know what he was willing to do, and what he was not.

For Alya. For the Cerberus.

I know you have already been to the Vale—I wonder if you might join us, for a time, in what might be the mutual desire to find her, safe and well, her ears pricked. She had sensed his aloof tone and the way that he had discarded the importance of the other woman he had shared his hours with, and verbally, she did not seem to begrudge him this. You need not be so near to us that our scents are upon you if you find yourself hungry for more low hanging fruit— her words were soft, though as she paused her tongue drew across the blade of her canine, but we would be thankful for your ears, your eyes, your nose in this search—and perhaps my sister will be thankful for far more than that, she supposed, glancing toward Lyra in a do you think so? manner and hearing her hum in a way that suggested, maybe, if he is lucky. Well, that was true—it all depended on her mood, did it not? More than that, it depended on his ability to quell his appetite for such fruit, in which Hydra imagined tasted terribly foul.

RE: just over the horizon - Bruges - October 07, 2018

Hydra volunteered the idea that he stay near them but search as well, and he didn't mind the idea. He liked the fact that she was willing to allow him to wander on a longer leash, so that he could still continue to do as he pleased- but help her keep an eye out for her sister as well by searching in a sort of fanned formation. That suited him fine- he could help them ouy, possibly see Alya again, and still have a decent amount of freedom to wander and keep his own agenda.

"Suits me." He said. "I'll keep near you, and keep in touch via howling," He said. "I think it might be best to search in that-" He said, gesturing toward where he'd seen Alya last [b]"Direction. I can start out that way, and will call out if I find any sign of her."
