it came through the yard again last night - Ford - October 19, 2018 There were clouds that seemed to linger in the distance, making promise of a cool night. The breeze that toyed with the edges of the foliage also ran its fingers through the jagged length of fur along the titan's neck and shoulders. He prowled further and further until he had found himself on the edge of the cliffs with the sea below him. Without fear, Ford leaned forward and peered over the edge of the jagged drop. There were wicked rocks below, housed in the arms of the ocean water. It would have been a drop to his death if he were to tumble and fall; at least he imagined it to be. Breathing in the aroma of brine and saline, Ford felt his shoulders sink as he pulled away from the edge of one world and the beginning of another. If it weren't for the sheer size of the cliffs, he would have thought them to be perfect for performing the drop. There was a gut instinct that told him if he were to throw children from that great height, they would never return. The bay was home to its own set of jagged stone walls, though. The bay was proving to be the most ideal location he had ever happened upon. Still, the warhound could not help but to be drawn by every aspect of the seaside. As he trailed the length of the cliffs, the swarthy titan kept his eyes trained on the distant waters. RE: it came through the yard again last night - Canyon - November 02, 2018 looked lonely, hope you don't mind me tossin' Canyon in :)
He bounded onto the scene with the same kind of energy as a restless child, because despite his age he was still kind of a restless child. There was someone up ahead and ohhhhh god he was so bored. This someone could provide relief from such boredom! Leaving home the first time had been so exciting but he had had someone with him. Now he was all alone and stuff. Needless to say it really sucked. Yo! Yo!He called out eagerly, trying to be mindful of the cliffs that he very much could bound over if he got too excited. What's up?!Canyon shouted with a grin that seemed to stretch from ear to ear. It was as if he was reunited with an old friend, except he didn't recall meeting this guy ever before. RE: it came through the yard again last night - Ford - November 02, 2018 The term “yo, yo” was not one that had frequently been used to address the great titan of the water. When he heard it called from across the stretch of land, he turned his head curiously, fixing his hollow sights on the shape of an orange wolf who was approaching with an upbeat step and a wild glint in his eye. This was something of a bizarre happenstance for the wraith of the sea. It grew increasingly strange when the orange fellow asked Ford what was up. It wasn't too common a phrase to catch on the edge of the world, so he took to reading the stranger's facial features in order to determine how he was intended to respond. Surely, Rannveig would have been better at reaching this one. The smile that stretched along the firebrand's features was enough for Ford to venture on. His trot seemed to be an easy one with a charm that was almost eerily similar to his brother's. The dark titan placed a smile on his face and made his tail wave between his hocks, rising only slightly in welcome. “Hey there,” he greeted in a baritone that sounded like it had hitched a ride on the tail of a thunderous boom. “Come to admire the water?” RE: it came through the yard again last night - Canyon - November 02, 2018 Somethin' like that.He admitted with that grin still present. Never seen a place like this before. Sure is pretty. His pale eyes glanced over towards the vast body of water. Water. Lots and lots of it. The concept of an ocean wasn't totally lost on him but he had been so excited about seeing someone that he kind of forget all about them. Which should have been harder considering the salty smell of the air and harsh sea wind. He turned his head back to admire the titan figure. Canyon was not small by any means but this guy certainly was built like some damn monolith. You from 'round here?He asked as his tail kept up an eager beat behind his fiery frame. RE: it came through the yard again last night - Ford - November 02, 2018 Yes, there was a bit of a lackadaisical charm about the firebrand and his easy-going nature. The more that he spoke, the more that Ford believed he would have suited Rannveig like a glove. The two would have likely gone off and discussed something that really had little significance to the rest of the world. The more he mulled the subject through his mind, the more he found himself growing distracted from what he needed to do. The smile remained printed on his features, making sure that he held a strong air of welcome to his posture and his features. The firebrand wolf mentioned that he'd never seen a place like where they stood. Immediately, Ford judged him for that. It didn't show on his face. He thought that only a lesser creature would not have been blessed enough to witness the beauty of the ocean. Still, he played it off like it was a small shame instead of the larger one that he carried in his heart. “Well, it's hard to leave once you've found it,” he teased with a rumbling chuckle. Then, knowing that he didn't want to give himself away so easily, he avoided answering the question that had been presented. “I'm hoping to claim the bay down that way.” With a sweeping of his skull, the titan of the water motioned toward the bay with his muzzle and then fixed his gaze on the stranger once more. “What about you?” RE: it came through the yard again last night - Canyon - November 02, 2018 Oh rad!Canyon chimed with genuine enthusasim. You'll be one hell of a leader, huh?He complimented with a toothy grin. Canyon didn't know anything about this guy but he was pretty sure anyone could lead. Especially if his parents thought he was fit to take up the mantel in Shark Key. So anyone with more brains than him (which this guy obviously had) would be perhaps the best leader ever. Then the question was flipped back onto him. Oh I'm from Shark Key. We got water like this but I've never seen this drop off of earth before. Especially into the water. Thought that was reserved for mountains and stuff. We just had sand and noisy birds. He almost wanted to groan recalling the awful cawing of the birds but he held that back with his toothy grin. RE: it came through the yard again last night - Ford - November 08, 2018 The reddish wolf was definitely full of words that Ford had never heard before in his life. It took a great deal of reading in order to understand the intent of the word 'rad' before he was capable of gathering that it was a positive sort of thing. When the stranger remarked that the titan would make a good leader, the warhound quirked a brow upward and curled his smile upward in a questioning sort of expression. Perhaps it was his size or the nature in which he had greeted the rambunctious Canyon, but he wasn't entirely sure what it was that had inspired the firebrand to say something like that. “Ah, well, I can only hope. It takes a lot to lead a group of wolves and to help them grow into what they want to be,” he remarked with a bit of a nod. There was a thoughtfulness to his tone, but he did not stray away from being polite and pleasant in his approach with the other wolf. When Canyon went on to explain that he was from a place called Shark Key, Ford titled his ears forward to listen carefully and gather the information that was being openly shared. It was almost peculiar for the brute to hear someone speak so brazenly about where they had come from. In all his life, he had been told to keep his home a careful secret. Those who belonged to the Warsaw Islands were always welcome back, but they did not take kindly to strangers. Outsiders never understood the careful culture that they had constructed over years and years of life on the scattered and rocky keys. “Sounds like quite the life,” he said with a quick flash of a smile. “You think you'll settle down by the sea again?” |
