The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored - Norsamu - November 02, 2018

"Goddamn!" The large wolf cursed out during this night, "aint it chilly!" She could feel that winter drew close as the frozen seabreeze hit at her pelt. She gave a shake of her maned neck and shivered slightly, but remained in place. There was no point in trying to flee the inevitable, as the seasons constant changing was not something a mortal could escape from- as much as she wished. Some area's remained snowless but still terrozied by the cold, so perhaps she would try and head in those directions... Was there such a place around here?

Hum, she felt it might be best to head inland for the winter coming. As much as Norsamu enjoyed Stavanger Bay, she didn't hold it strongly enough to remain through the upcoming winter. The decisions, the decisions, what should she do..? Eh, she'll decide eventually. Getting goddamn cold, and this breeze ain't helping at all.

"colder 'n a yeti's scrote!" velen hooted in response to the cussing that sounded in the night. he'd been on a patrol of the place. this was where the brothers seemed to have staked out for the time being, accompanied by saucy and dalia. thus far, ford had a good little crew going, and velen was loathe to do anything to screw that up.
he passed his markings along the sand as he went, ensuring the air was heavy with the scent of fresh mayfair-cairn piss. the woman ahead was not what he had expected: thickset, muscular, the only true indication of feminine nature in her voice. she seemed healthy enough, if not cold. but the winter lashings along the coast did not set velen's teeth on edge, for he had known icier climes in his young life. drawing closer, the boy regarded the heavy mane and firelit eyes, falling into a warm silence.

"Ya damn right!" The large woman cackled loudly at the responds, giving a grin toward the visitory in a friendly manner. She never minded company, and rarely shown to be hostile toward others, especially not toward one who seemed to be inkling toward her preferred guest!

Her body turned toward the autumn like figure, who was imposing much like herself. Though what was noted he did not seem at edge toward the cold. Which was interesting, and she grew a liking toward him She of course, instantly enjoyed the fellow from looks to the starting of a conversation, which helped quickly to forget about the cold Norsamu was complaining about earlier. With a one-track mind, distractions were easy, but it was right what she needed to ignore the damnable frosted winds.

"How ya be stranger?" She asked with a slight chuckle following after the loud laughter she bellowed out earlier.

"i'm well, friend," velen shot back, finally drawing a bit closer. her laughter was mirrored in his own. she was an intriguing creature already, and the boy was beginning to plot how he could keep her about. opting not to rib her about being cold — not everyone could be reared like a penguin — the yearling began to move along the beach, a low chuff inviting her to walk with him.
"wintering here with my sibs and a couple others," the warsaw creature offered. "what aboutcha? what are you doing down in these parts?" he saw no need to introduce himself, not just yet; with any luck, they would get around to it. for now, keeping a move on might help instill some warmth into his fierce companion.

"Ain't that a blessin'." Not many would be well with winter arriving! She jokingly thought, a toothy grin sprawling onto her face. Which he seemed to be quite well in, unlike herself who once thought she would be fine in such weather, started to complain about it. Norsamu moved along with him, all too happy to keep the joints going to ignore the winds that came with a shiver.

"Am' just a wanderer. Explorin' for em' rumors n' treasures, ya'know?" A fiery gaze wandered toward the waves, "mermaid tears, moon pearls, n all' the sorts. Adventures my lad." Thoouugh, not too successful. Moon pearls, yeah, already been found, but not the mermaid tears. Those bloody bastards are hard as hell to find, and so the search for those been unsuccessful. Was one of the reasons (excuses) to stay afloat in the bay, but now that winter approached, and the search has been for naught', she thought to move. At least have a nice chatter before driftin' off, Norsamu thought with a pleased grin.

he liked her: she was a ribald pirate, like he secretly aspired to be. her talk of treasures reassured velen that he was not the only one who thought of such things. "i know adventure," velen rumbled. "and i could hunt moon pearls with ya sometime," he went on, flashing the corsair a broad grin. "you know, our little band has room for others." here was where velen usually succeeded, espousing the glory of his clan, if in an offhand way. "no sense going inland if the sea is in your blood."
cold the woman might be, but prolonged exposure to the seawinds would toughen her, as it had all of them. velen scarcely felt it these days, a blessing for those who wanted to belong next to the heady lash of the ocean. "i'm velen," the boy offered a moment later. no need to tack on a surname; that was ford's department, after all, enforcing their line. it should have been his, but velen felt it was quite a mouthful to hand a stranger.

"Tis be a fun time if ya join." She flashed a jolly and wide smile toward the lad, accepting his offer to join on the hunting. She enjoyed company, and while it was nice to go where she so desires, Norsamu would never deny a partner for a day. Though it seems he wasn't a wanderer like herself, and mentioned a little band of his. No names were mentioned, but she cocked her head to the side in question. There was one point the large lass wanted to join; the Ironsea Pirates, though they were disbanded by the bear.. Its smell no longer lingered, but she could remember the damage it caused.

"Depends my lad," she answered, "freedom is valued." The other group that interested the white maned female allowed such freedom, as the one who talked about it was a boy named Zigzag, who seemed to wander a few months at a time before returning back. She had to admit, that a part of her missed a band of misfits, as she remembered the Rosen Rogues. Though they never stayed in one place for long, and she grew up with that lifestyle. To the mountains, to the sea, to the plains and back, home was where they were at; but her home has long been lost, "travellin' in circles is a given."

"Name's Norsamu, nice to meet'cha!"

"i understand." freedom was what had made the siblings leave the island, strike out on their own in search of a new and fierce paradise, one that held history for their clan. he could not fault norsamu for the same, nor for being wary of casting in her lot with those she did not know. she was a pirate, after all, and they did not survive long without a certain canny nature.
"we are stormrift. my brother ford leads us. but enough about his mug," velen crowed lowly. "found some old ivory down the beach, not far from here. it isn't whalebone nor something from a fish. care to take a look?" in truth, it was a goodly portion of narwhal horn, but velen could not recall having seen one of those before, and was eager to know what the clearly well-traveled norsamu would make of the strange object.
