Sunfall - Elision - November 27, 2018 The crunch of bone between her teeth and the warm rush of blood over her tongue overwhelm her senses for a moment, a rush of sweet relief at breaking her days-long fast. She tightens her forelegs around the bloodied corpse of the hare, tearing limbs free and gulping down meat ravenously. She wastes little time in decimating the tiny body, flinging the gore-streaked remnants a few feet away from her when her stomach begins to protest her gorging, though she has no intention of leaving the kill. What remains will make a nice snack soon; for now, she leans back against the snow, dark figure framed by the hare blood dappling the ground. She's content to rest here until the time comes to move on, unperturbed by the frosty weather and satisfied with her meal.
RE: Sunfall - Nunataq - November 28, 2018 Have you ever passed a bakery early in the morning and caught the wonderful smell of fresh baked bread? Nunataq felt exactly the same way, when she was treading through her former playground in Wapun meadow. She had left Lost Creek hollow the previous evening and had been too far to return after nightfall. Bearclaw valley had seemed just as good place as any to spend the night and also to begin her hunt for food early. It had snowed and the air was very cold, for a bit Nunataq had been amused by the odd puffs of smoke that were coming from her mouth, whenever she exhaled, but the novelty soon wore off, because she was hungry as... well... as a wolf. And to catch the sweet, fresh and warm smell of blood and meat wafting through the air all the way to her, had been a wonderful turn of luck to her. Soon she found the source and was slightly disappointed to see another wolf already devouring, what should have been Nunataq's breakfast. Nevertheless, she drew nearer and nearer, sniffing and searching the ground for the tiniest morsels, until she was close enough to the unknown wolf, where it had scattered it's meal around the perimeter. She glanced quickly over at the owner of the meal and then snatched a piece of skin and guts that were nearest to her. They tasted amazing and only increased her hunger, therefore she turned to give a more thorough look at the other hunter, in order to decide, whether it was worth it to attack and steal, whatever was left of the slaughtered hare. |
