briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 04, 2014 After spending several days at the seashore, Junior hung back today. It was raining rather heavily and though she really didn't mind it, Ragnar told her to stick close to the den. She might have resented this command but she had a stomachache (the result of swallowing too much seawater, not that she knew it) today anyway and didn't much feel like going anywhere. Taking shelter beneath a tree, Junior slumped forward onto her belly and began to clip the wet grass with her teeth as her two-toned eyes stared idly at the rain-washed terrain. At one point, she paused and squinted, sure that she saw a shape moving toward her through the billowing curtains of rain... RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Ollie - July 05, 2014 No Olor in this one, Ollie is alone for once
The ash-furred waif saw a tree to shelter from the rain. She sighed in relief. The young captive had gotten seperated from her guardian, Olor, as she explored the new territory they were forced to stay in for two weeks. She didn't mind, they weren't in an unknown empty space: they were in the land of Stavanger Bay. Upon approaching the temporary shelter, she saw a puppy with mismatched eyes laying in the grass. Ollie tilted her head as she regarded the pup. Was this one of Jarl Ragnar's kids? "Oi." she said as she sidled up to the puppy. "'oo 're ya?" RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 05, 2014 The shape began to take on the contours of a wolf. Ignoring the rolling in the pit of her stomach, Junior stopped cropping the grass like some strange young calf and pushed herself upright. Her enormous ears pricked and her nose wriggled, yet it was hard to discern anything in this washout. When the wolf came within a few yards, Junior could pick out details and even detect a faint scent. The stranger looked almost like a puppy, though not quite. Osprey didn't know she was looking at a juvenile only a few months older than herself. Despite the difference in age and development, Junior was nearly as large as the other, though she still bore all the facial features of a puppy whereas the stranger didn't. Tipping her head at the female's accented question, Junior replied, "I'm Junior. Oooh are youuu?" she asked, halfway mimicking the other youth's strange speech. RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Ollie - July 05, 2014 She shook her pelt, not caring if it hit the younger pup. The waif flopped down, still damp, only getting a bit of shelter from the rain. Water still hit her pelt, but not as much as before. It would have to do. Her brow furrowed when the pup made fun of her accent. It had happened before, and it was always annoying. "Me name is Ollie." She didn't say her full name, Olivia Cosgrove, only because this wolf was younger than her. It was a habit of hers to introduce herself fully to older wolves, she blamed Olor's mother for that. "'re ya wahn of Ragnar's kids?" RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 05, 2014 When asked if she was one of Ragnar's kids, Osprey replied, "No," even though she'd answered affirmatively when his sons had asked her if she was their new sister. She could differentiate her guardians from her parents, whereas the relationships between herself and the other pups of the world were not so clear to her. "They're takin' care of me, though, 'cause I almost drowned and bumped my head and got lost!" she shared with enthusiasm. "Why do you talk funny?" the youngster wanted to know the next moment, cocking her head at Ollie. RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Ollie - July 05, 2014 So this pup wasn't related to Jarl Ragnar after all. But that still didn't mean that the Jarl wouldn't be any less defensive towards her. She would have to be careful around this one. The juvenile wondered if the bump on her head made the pup forget where she came from. But she wouldn't pry, not with this one anyway. And as always, some one asked where she got her "funny" accent from. Ollie pouted and said "I come from a place far from 'ere. I guess we speak different there." RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 05, 2014 Osprey could see that her question bothered Ollie and she frowned thoughtfully. It didn't occur to her apologize, though. She said simply, "Oh," and let it rest. It didn't really matter to her anyway; at least she could understand the other wolf. "D'y—" she began when her stomach rolled abruptly. Her neck stiffened and she made an awful gagging sound right before the contents of her stomach came pouring out of her mouth. It was a soupy mixture full of bits of green confetti that splashed on the ground and splattered her, though luckily the soft rain began to wash it away immediately. "Hey," Junior said after recovering, "I feel better!" Jumping to her feet, she barked, happy that the bellyache was in the past. "D'you wanna go on a venture?" she asked Ollie before Ragnar's demand flashed through her head. If she had been back home and it had been her dad, she would've likely ignored it but she was still being careful with her foster family of sorts. "Wait, I forgot I gotta stay close. D'you wanna play a game instead?" RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Ollie - July 06, 2014 Junior was about to say something else, but suddenly gagged. Ollie's eyes widened in fear. Was she sick? "'ey, 're ya ok ma-" As soon as she started speaking, the young dusty-black pup threw up, right on the ground. The ash-furred waif jumped back, exclaiming in disgust. "Ewww...!" To her confusion, Junior recovered quickly and bounced up. She at first wanted to go on a "venture", but stopped, saying that she had to stay close. Instead, the strange pup offered to play a game instead. "U-um, sure. Wot game?" Ollie said uncertainly. She hadn't played a game in a very long time. Most of her childhood was spent hustling and trying to survive. RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 06, 2014 Ollie agreed to playing a game and left the choice up to Osprey Jr. "Let's play pretend!" the pup said almost immediately. She paused for a second, then said, "Let's play dragons! I'll be the mama dragon and you're the baby dragon." Never mind that she usually hunted dragons; sometimes it was fun to change things up a bit! "I'm gonna lay you in a egg and sit on you to hatch you!" she declared and, in the very same breath, launched at Ollie in a playful attempt to wrestle the "baby dragon" to the ground. RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Ollie - July 06, 2014 Ollie really wanted to protest against the thought of being the submissive one in this game. But on second thought, Junior was under the protection of Jarl Ragnar. She did not want to be on his bad side. So she sighed and let Junior wrestle her to the ground. Though she did fight back a little; she would never go down without a fight. RE: briskly venture, briskly roam - Junior - July 19, 2014 Oh, man. Sorry for the humongous delay. It looks like Ollie's been removed, so I'll conclude this. We can revive it if you return!
Ollie fought back, though Junior eventually forced her into submission, which was always a satisfying feeling. Once the juvenile was prostrate on the ground, Osprey stepped over top of her and then squatted, attempting to sit on Ollie's flank. It was a very uneven surface, however, made even more so by the captive's protesting wriggling. All the same, Junior kept trying until she managed to precariously balance on the other wolf's rib cage. "Hatchy hatchy!" she screamed a moment later, an announcement which was followed by a good hour of playing dragons before Junior eventually grew bored of the game. Wet and cold, she gave Ollie a parting nibble before seeking her foster family and some shelter to take a nap. |
