love me like you do - Miriam - January 01, 2019

It was a wonderful place, her eyes took in all that was new, and was amazed with each step she took. The sun had set, and the night soon begin to come, but she hadn't realize what kind of treasure was to come once the day has started to pass. The waters itself, held such a beautiful color, that she did not know it could be true, The stream was in a blaze, and one would think the world itself was on fire. Though quiet, and soundly, all you could hear was nature's own music, as she wholeheartedly took in the beauty.

What a sight, and a wonder to behold. Miriam was truly to be glad to be on this journey of discovery. She sat by it, tail wagging and concentrating to what was before her.

Once she'd gotten Radcliffe settled and fed to wait out the storm, Moorhen had returned to combing the beach. It seemed as though a lull had taken hold of the coast for the moment, and the raven intended to enjoy it before being forced to hunker down once more.

She was surprised to see a stranger upon the shores - not just because of the hour and the temperment of the sea, but because the woman was the flat, smokey silver of stone. Moorhen was oddly entranced by the stranger's beauty, and thus, her voice was almost gentle as she chuffed her greeting, her natural instinct to be poor-tempered warring with an odd desire to get close to strange creature before her.

"Hallo," she greeted, her mind slipping for a moment as she offered a greeting slightly more accented than her usual tones. But although it was a different language, the greeting was near enough to the common tongue that Moorhen did not bother correcting herself.

A mind of ease, and serene, as she wholeheartedly focused on that before her. Though she felt startled, her eyes slowly and calmly traced to the source of a chuff, as Miriam's tail anxiously curled around. She nodded in acknowledge, but her inner turmoil did not know how to respond, especially when she spoke of a different word, that sounded so familiar, but so different. These lands were very odd, she thought, but enthralling as they spoke of nothing that she heard of before. The only few wolves she met both greeted in different manners, that the maiden felt a bit embarassed she could only say a "Hello," back at the other. Her words almost seemed dull compared, she felt stuck on what else to add.

The raven's tail gave a tiny wiggle of encouragement as the woman answered in kind, not seeming to find fault with the greeting. She crept a bit closer, shifting her posture to be more loose and neutral than she would normally carry herself. "I im Moorhen of Undersea - islann jewel under sky light and seasong," she introduced with another tentative wag of her tail, indicating the island just barely visible in the distance.

She looked expectantly at the woman, then, and prompted, "Naame?" She hoped it was something simple - something she could remember so that she didn't make a fool of herself. She felt strangely bashful in front of the other woman. She was just so smooth and refined compared to Moorhen's windblown pelt and leathery ears and hard features.

She held a curiosity, as soon as the other spoke of her name, and where she was from. It was a new way to greet oneself, for Miriam that is. One who grew up in a sanctuary of the grove, Miriam wasn't used to someone introducing themselves from where they are from, for she was always at home. What was this Undersea, she wondered, head tilting to the side despite a calm gaze continuining forward, as her heart beated with questions. Her wisps had gazed toward where was indicated, and watched the island in the distance in even more wonder. How fascinating, she thought.

"I am Miriam, Miriam Iris Willows," she tipped her head in a polite greeting while focusing back to the individual, "It is nice to meet you, Moorhen." The faintest of smiles, hung on her lilac features as she introduced herself with soft-spoken words, and sophisticated speech. She hoped that she had pronounced the name right, and not to be a fool like her companion was inwardly worrying about as well.

At the sound of the other's voice, Moorhen found herself relaxing, somewhat. Some wolves were very difficult for her to understand. Accents threw her off quite badly, as did slurring or strange speech patterns. But she understood Miriam perfectly, even if she couldn't quite pronounce the name, at first. Miram, she repeated - or tried to - and then, Mirrem. Miriim.

None of it sounded quite right, and her ears fell back in deep embarrassment. Nice to meet you, she echoed shyly. She had that one down pat, at least. Come from far? she asked, wondering if all wolves looked quite so different where Miriam came from, or if she was simply a diamond in the rough.

She had a soft smile, while watching the other trying to pronounce her name. It was interesting to hear the various of different ways, Miriam didn't think her name was too difficult. Though she didn't want the other to struggle or think too hard on something that can be fixed, so she offered a solution, "Mir is fine." A nickname would be alright, not minding the name 'Mir.'

"I do," she confessed, not hiding her naivety toward this land, "I'm afraid.. I'm a stranger to these wilds." She knew nothing, but she wanted to know more. A thirst for knowledge to this beautiful land, much different then her orchid sanctuary from her Goddess, the Lady. Miriam was happy to be granted this quest of wandering, and she was even more happy to find this place, to the point her tail unknowingly held an obvious wag from her excitment.

"Mir," Moorhen agreed with a grateful wag of her tail, relieved to have been rescued from her attempts. Her ears perked in interested at Miriam's words, and she wondered aloud, "Do you - um. Rescue?" No, that was wrong. "Explore," she corrected. "Adventure?"

She'd had to ask @Stockholm for the proper pronunciation of these words, because (almost) literally everyone else in Undersea had some kind of trouble communicating. It was kind of hilarious, actually, except Moorhen rarely saw the humor in these kinds of situations.
I hope this is an okay assumption!

A warmth thumped her heart, having a nickname she previously did not have. Her sanctuary, her dearest home, she held love for all, but there was no such familarity of nicknames within there. The pups are raised with a sense of calmness, a serendipity, and referred to their birth names. She wondered, why they didn't use them, but she also thought, there would be no need to. Only when her name caused trouble, for Moorhen, did she feel the need for one; Than it harm none, do as thou wilt. She was a doll given a name, and a warmth of one named Mir.

A new calmness to meeting other, no longer as nervous as she first was. She had a desire to chuckle, at these different terms with different meetings, but held her tongue on not wanting to hurt the other. Though it struck a good question, to Miriam. She was once a Maiden, of the Sanctuary, a counterpart to the Earls, but as she was no longer in paradise, she did not hold the same title; what was she? She knew, she was not an adventurer, but she knew there was a similar name along the word, but she could not think of it. So, she shook her light head, "I am only travelling."

"Are you also?" A lady away from the islands, perhaps curious on the outside, such as she was. Miriam curiously asked the other, wandering for her purpose as well.

RE: love me like you do - Moor - January 24, 2019

At the question, Moorhen gave a mute shake of her head. She was done with travel; this was merely a chore she had to complete before returning to the island. Or, it had been, until she had run into Miriam. The woman was like one of the seashells that Driftwood liked to collect - pretty and delicate and too precious to leave there on the beach where anything could happen. For the first time, she thought she understood the urge to collect.

I protect the island, she replied. Come to shore, so to smell for dangerops wolf.

If Aditya had been sniffing around again, she wanted to be the first to know.

RE: love me like you do - Miriam - February 03, 2019

She nodded, understanding the need of protection. While her own paradise was one of peace, they still had their own need for comfort of safety. Miriam thought the lady before her was much like the Earls in that sense, where they were the ones to guard the Maidens, and heavens paradise. She had a vague understanding when it came to other Packs, and their own structure, for all the lilac lady knew, was many proceeded differently. She was interested, and intrigued how the others work.

Curious enough, Miriam softly asked, "what dangers would be near here?"

RE: love me like you do - Moor - February 04, 2019

What dangers? "Crazy wolf disease," she replied at once. For sharks could not reach them out of the water, and there were rarely predators willing to cross the landbridge just to bother a bunch of wolves. The only real worry - aside from inclement weather - was other wolves. Moorhen wondered what sort of life the woman must've lived not to understand that.

"A wolf came to bite my Aralez," she explained in what passed as a gentle voice, for her. "I must make sure he does not come back."
