we are dogs of the sea - Norsamu - January 06, 2019 Improvements, moving forward, none of that really came to mind for Norsamu as she went through her life. Her care was about excitment and what can she do for the current day? What challenges could she fight? Her muscles were aching for something, something to play with and something to tear at her own flesh. She felt an adrenaline, a thirst for a mighty fight as the storms cackle behind her. She was all for sparring, and being a warrior, but didn't care much for 'improving' her style, nor' moving to the next level. Now if she lost a fight though, her pride would say that's another story. Stormrift might just be perfect for a hot-blooded pirate.
"So, ya culture," she started, "what'cha all about? Or ya a secret till' otherwise." As she walked into the territory with her new boss, leader, alpha whatever he decided to call himself, she continued on with the conversation. They had a culture, and if it was something lame as hell like peace-loving hippies, then Norsamu was ready to turn the fuck around. She didn't mind them, but she didn't want to be with them. Wasn't her style, and they wouldn't like her impulsive side when it came to random fights. Surely they wouldn't allow her delicious nectar of rum either, the devils drink, though Ford seemed curious on her secrets that she stole from the Ironsea lads, so hopefully there was something to her liking. RE: we are dogs of the sea - Ford - January 06, 2019 The two passed through the bay at a careful pace, and Ford did what he could to allow the newcomer to see all that she would need in order to familiarize herself with the location. He was certain that she would get to know the bay well enough in her stay there. Most of the others had already found their own secret places of pleasure. He too had several of his own that he had not yet shared with the rest of the group; it was good to have areas of seclusion, he felt. Their claim was broad enough that they had room to roam. He hoped that it meant there would be no feelings of wanderlust after having been there for a month or so. As they trekked along, the woman inquired about their culture. Ford turned his attention to her with a soft smile and nodded his head. “No secrets,” he assured her with a deep chuckle. “We’re intended to grow beyond weakness here. The wolves of Stormrift are capable but are pushed to overcome the areas where they are not as strong as they would think. I have designed the ranks to be divided into intellectual pursuits and physical pursuits, though one is never favored over the other,” he explained carefully, casting his mismatched gaze toward her to make sure that she followed what he was saying. “Our children will be tested, and all members of the pack will know their own test when that time comes. We are meant to eliminate fear of the unknown and fear of weakness. In doing this, the storm will bless us and mark us as capable.” There was more, of course – there would always be more. The rest, he knew that she could discover as her time moved forward within the pack. He did not wish to overload her with information on their traditions before she had a chance to settle into her place. The pack would grow together and they would learn the ways of the rift together; he would have it no other way. RE: we are dogs of the sea - Norsamu - January 13, 2019 She had been at this bay before, and for quite a while. Though she suspected no one would know, as the behemoth gal never cared to mark or claim it, and simply laid within it's beaches before it was time to move on. She knew some of the hiding spots, and of course, held some dried up rum somewhere, so exploring it was at the back of her mind for the moment. Though she held no secret locations, and didn't think that a crew would need one from each other. She was a socialable pirate, and desired to drink over the sharing of stories.
He was very serious about this, was Norsamu's first thought. He seemed keen on the dream for everyone to grow, go beyond the usual limits. She respected that, but also felt the same attitude over and over, could be a bit redundant. and not as fun as it sounded. Not that it sounded fun in the first place, for he spoke of sophisticated words to in the end say; everyone work together to grow,' she thought he was trying to say anyway. Honestly speaking it felt a bit drawn out that she somewhat zoned out until it came to 'test,' "Oh? Test ya say?" The pirate curiously asked with an arrogant grin, as she was quite interested on what he had to say about that. Cared little to the 'storm blessing' and what not, or growing stronger and overcoming, none of that really mattered. She wanted to know about the actual challenges he would throw at her. That was what brings the blood boiling for excitment. RE: we are dogs of the sea - Ford - January 13, 2019 Stormrift was not about having fun; it was not a pack for people to hop into and do what they wanted before skirting out. Things were to be expected from those who sought a place in the rift. It wasn’t a free-for-all, and it never would be. He could not hear the thoughts inside of the girl’s mind. If he could, perhaps he would have taken a far angrier tone with her. No matter what a pirate wished to have happen in their life, Ford had been clear about what was to be expected of her and of everyone else. The wolves of Stormrift were intended for great things, and he refused to fall short of that mark. If there was a chance that she would fight against the growth, he would show her out. It seemed that she had found some interest in the challenge that he’d mentioned. The inky wraith turned his mismatched gaze to her features and furrowed his brow thoughtfully. His eyes studied her, searching for physical movements in order to understand what it was that motivated her. While they may have been polar opposites, Ford knew that he needed to find a way to communicate with the woman so that she would be more compelled to follow the path that was set for her. “A challenge, yes,” he confirmed with a stoic nod of his crown. “Once you have gained a specialty in the trade that you seek, you will be eligible to complete the challenge,” the titan then added. He wasn’t certain that he wanted to divulge any further details about the gauntlet. For someone who was not ready, it was a task that seemed greatly unachievable. Ford did not wish to provide her with thoughts of fancy that were out of her reach at that time. When she was able, the idea of the gauntlet would not seem quite as difficult. RE: we are dogs of the sea - Norsamu - January 20, 2019 It was clear the two were vastly different, but were both titans in Stormrift. One held a serious nature who wished for growth, and strengthening of all, but the other was a silly Pirate, who desired to hold the treasures of the world, and enjoy life as it is. She didn't deny growth when it came to be, but she didn't push for it either. She grew up, and grew into being a barbarian, one of mismanners and laughter, as she was thrown into a den of beasts, but also thrown into a den of entertainment. At least Norsamu, could provide use as a warrior, for she knew to fight, but as one still young, there was much to learn. She didn't really bother, though. Just simply like tavern-brawls and spars with strangers.
"Sounds fun mate." He didn't go further into what it was and led it into an air of mystery. She knew it wouldn't be easy to pry any information out with stuch a stony-man, and didn't care to anymore. She wasn't of brains, only pure brawns. If it was too difficult for the mind, Norsamu was one to easily abandon it. Though she would happily beat the shit out of someone, if he so chooses to tell her, not think it. "So then, what am I, aye? Used to say i'm an adventurer, a rogue, barbarian, or if suits ya fancy, a warrior." The fuck were ranks in these parts. RE: we are dogs of the sea - Ford - January 24, 2019 Fun was probably not how he would have described the culture behind the rift. It would inspire greatness inside of them, and if she thought that this would be an enjoyable thing... well, he could not fault her there. The titan believed that it would be a difficult task, but they were all perfectly capable – even those who had joined them with great disabilities. In this, Ford also believed that they would shine much brighter when they had completed the challenges before them. No matter what it was that pushed her to continue on her path, so long as she did not back down... he would not care. They all had differences in what they believed created a spice in life. As they continued their trek along the beach, the pirate turned to him and inquired as to what she would be considered in their fold. She claimed that she was a warrior and barbarian. Ford glanced toward her frame and nodded his head softly. He knew nothing about the strength of others when he had not sparred with them himself. If this was her aspiration, then she would have a very challenging and enjoyable direction to follow. “You are a Ceto,” he explained to her with a ghostly smile. “You are a physical aspirant and will follow the path of those who prefer brawn over brain.” |
