I've been burning - Minori - January 12, 2019 She had hidden herself away for the duration of her heat, waited for the burning in her loins to fade away before she began to freely wander the territory. Today she was feeling very energetic and managed to patrol the South and West borders, marking her scent to help in the claiming of the sweep. That was when she heard the deep, short grunts and pained bellows of a bull elk. Immediately she headed toward it and found a trail of blood, following that with ease. Within a few minutes she found a large bull Elk struggling through the snow with a shredded apart hind leg but when it spotted her, it bellowed angrily and turned displaying a large rack of antlers. Knowing this could be successful she called for the small group currently forming Kamiki and circled the Elk, keeping it nearby. RE: I've been burning - Revui (Ghost) - January 13, 2019 Whatever was keeping Revui within the woods (whether it be his bizarre loyalty to Issun or the season's affectation), he found himself adapting to the forest with relative ease. It wasn't like his mountain home, but that wasn't a bad thing. There were many paths twisting through the trees and the majority of them dead-ended or took him to new vistas, testing his endurance and giving him a little bit more thrill than he expected. Still, he found himself missing Moonspear more and more every day. He wished he could prove himself somehow — either to Issun or, through some sort of roundabout way, to his family — and that opportunity presented itself in the form of another dark stranger. She wasn't really a stranger; Revui had seen Minori on a semi-frequent basis, often in the company of Issun, or driving away pests and threats alike. He had not spoken to her before, but held her in good favor. She was a warrior and a guardian, as far as Revui could tell - both of which were assets. Upon finding her trail (lightly spiced with an alluring undercurrent that he hadn't noticed before, yet fading) he followed after her. The scent of blood piqued his interest even more when he came across it, and soon he was following the trail of blood a few wolf-lengths behind Minori. When she paused, he lurched a few more steps and then paused as well, observing the surrounding forest for further clues - and otherwise remaining silently vigilant, just in case danger lurked nearby. RE: I've been burning - Minori - January 17, 2019 She was aware of the approach of another behind her before he was even close by, the crunching noises of his paws in the snow alerted her to his presence. She quickly looked over her shoulder her eyes sharp as she made sure he wasn't a stranger. He turned out to be one of Issun's recruits she had seen around every now and then though he seemed to stick close to Issun most often. She accepted his presence with a nod of her head and turned to face the Elk again, studying the situation. "He's been bleeding for quite some time. That wound looks somewhat fresh, it isn't festering yet. I wonder what did it, I don't smell another animal anywhere" she murmured loud enough for Revui to hear. Even with the wound the massive prey seemed to be alert and stand offish, she knew it would be foolish to try and hunt it without help. "We should wait and see if anyone else comes before attempting it ourselves" she said though she sounded reluctant. RE: I've been burning - Aliana - January 18, 2019 Hope you don't mind me sauntering on in here~
Snow crunched underneath her large paws walked along the scent-borders of their territory, she had joined Issun's small little ragtag group only a few days ago, it wasn't yet a full fledge pack yet, it still needed a few more members to be fully called a 'pack', but it felt good to be with a group in general. If this pack didn't find her, she would have eventually gone out to seek one herself due to her lack of hunting or fighting skills, it would be foolish for a wolf like her not to. But it was because of those lack of skill that she resigned herself, for now, to patrol the borders, hopefully, to find some new faces that she could persuade into joining their group so they could finally mark this place as theirs. Her ears swiveled as she heard the pained bellow from what she could assume is large prey, "Hm? Could it be...?" She galloped, bulldozing through the snow as she raced towards the sound, driven by both her curiosity and predatory drive at the sound of possible injured prey. The smell of blood picked up, signaling to her that she was getting closer and once the injured bull came into her sights she slowed down to a crawl getting down low between some bushes for cover. She had yet to notice the two who were waiting. RE: I've been burning - Revui (Ghost) - January 22, 2019 Revui was a high-energy aggressor when it came to situations, but when presented with this opportunity to hunt he knew his skills were under-developed. A hunter needed precision, patience, and a team to fall back on — thinking of this, he remembered Hydra's lesson on the same subject and his mood began to sour. She had tried to teach him of these things; of teamwork, of holding back just enough so that you did not waste your energy in a battle. He had been a poor student to those lessons, which was how he'd come to leave the mountain in the first place. But this woman knew better. She showed patience immediately, where Revui would've run off to seek the wounded animal and fought it solo she was keen on waiting. The more she explained the more he understood, but the boy did not show signs of listening; rather, he was watching the surroundings, sniffing the air, seemingly distracted. He thought he'd noticed the scent of another wolf but it was so quick -- and there, the rustling of the undergrowth a few meters away. Without a word to Minori, he departed from her side and lurched along until he came to a patch of ferns and dense grass. There was no sign of anything, and for a moment he thought he'd imagined the shuddering of plants. RE: I've been burning - Aliana - January 23, 2019 Aeliana watched the injured Bull, eager yet weary, she had a few run-ins with them before she came to Teekon. Once she spotted a baby elk on its own during her travels, it looked like an easy meal so she wasted no time running at it, she almost had it into her jaws when it's angry Mother came bulldozing out of the woods, threatening to plant a sharp hoof between her eyes. Then there was the time when she tried to go after an old elk die but that was a bust, she did leave it injured but the herd kept her at bay. But this time will be different, she was with a growing pack, maybe they came take it down together and she'll having a taste of fresh elk meat this time.
Her tail wagged slightly at the thought, she was still iffy on how the Bull got such a wound. Possibly a cougar? She shuddered slightly, ears flattening against her head a bit, not wanting to think about some cougar just rushing out of nowhere and ambushing them. She soon focused back on the task at hand, watching the Elk until she heard movement. Her head perked up, ears swiveled focusing on the sound of footsteps coming towards her. She sniffs a couple of times, hoping the wind would throw the scent of her approacher her way, she could only assume it could be Issun or maybe one of the ‘others’ he spoke of that she has yet to meet, “Hello?” |
