So I asked them, "what's a life if you're living like you're dead?" - Rosalyn - January 15, 2019 she needed a couple of these <3
Rosalyn's mobility was next to nothing with her leg, but whenever she could, she tested it. She knew better than to try to use it, and that it was better to allow it time to heal straight. But she'd made it, somehow, from the north to here on three legs, and so on three legs she roamed the beach and shoreline of the southern territory. Today she was watching the birds. She knew she probably couldn't hunt one, but sometimes, if you were lucky..... yes! One unfortunate gull fumbled its catch, and a smallish fish dropped to land with a soft thud on the sand. Rosalyn shambled forward and snatched the steak up, trotting away with a rolling and awkward gait as she ducked the bird's angry pursuit. RE: So I asked them, "what's a life if you're living like you're dead?" - Alarian - January 16, 2019 He still feels a little strange after his near death experience in the lake — after leaving that stranger to die in the snow. It's something he hasn't thought himself capable of, and he doesn't know how to process it — so he doesn't. Avoidance is always the answer. He takes to exploring the territory instead, first following the shoreline thoughtlessly for a time. He deviates after awhile, soon catching the scent of a packmate and trailing it idly in pursuit of company. The birds are distracting when he first comes upon the scene, reminding him quickly that he is still slightly worn; he blinks several times before the entire scene comes into focus, gaze flitting belatedly to the fleeing wolf. His pace increases slightly to draw up alongside the tattered woman, and he snaps at the pursuing bird with some humor in his gaze. He doesn't truly expect to connect with the thing, so he's surprised to briefly taste feathers before the creature is off in a huff. He stifles a laugh, attention turning back to his packmate; perhaps the first wolf he's met who is as scarred as he is. RE: So I asked them, "what's a life if you're living like you're dead?" - Rosalyn - January 16, 2019 She didn't immediately see him, and her first reaction when someone came up on her blind side was panic. She clasped the fish tighter and snapped around, but immediately loosened when she recognized he was a packmate and not a stranger. Well. A little of both, wasn't he? The first thing she noticed was his face, and she immediately froze because it was like looking in a mirror. Her own were fresher, no doubt, but the scars that tracked across his face and clouded eye made her remember clearly the jaws closing down, tearing across her face. She smiled, still thrown but recovering, and dropped the fish to her feet. Nice catch, she replied, indicating the feathers in his mouth with a laugh. She was out of practice with it, but it felt good. Somehow she felt already easier around this guy, probably because of anyone here, he could look at her face and only show humor at the chase. They passed a while exchanging easy chatter, and Rosalyn enjoyed his company, though she wouldn't see much of him again before he chose to depart the pack. appended a wrap, let me know if that isn't ok <3
