dreaming like a broken record, looping all you know forever - Alessia - January 22, 2019

forward-dated 3 days! @Ruenna if you'd rather hop in this one than make one then feel free, but otherwise AW!
Though logic tells her otherwise, some part of her has held to a small sliver of hope that she may not be pregnant. The end of her heat has brought a sort of expectancy to her; she'll discover quickly whether her luck has run thin or saved her once more. She doesn't expect to find out so soon, though — just as she hadn't expected her heat so soon. Her body has other plans, it seems.
She's roused this particular morning by an overwhelming wave of nausea, forced to her feet in a hurry. She makes it three steps from her sleeping place before she vomits, retching up bile and scant remnants of last night's dinner. The force of it is painful. It's over quickly, though, leaving her with eyes watering and nose and throat stinging. She blinks rapidly, swallowing hard and resisting the urge to gag again at the taste. Her eyes quickly fill with hot tears as this newest revelation sinks in. She takes several steps back from the mess, falling back onto her haunches with a deep, shaky breath. She's out of luck.

The scent of bile caused Durnehviir's nose to wrinkle, and her ears fell back against her crown as a new discomfort washed over her. She eased her stride, slowing considerably as she stepped hesitantly through the foliage to better investigate.

While she hadn't spent much time with the newcomers from the other side of the mountains, she knew that Constantine had extended a generous offer to them following the loss of their territory. As Durnehviir caught sight of a raven figure between the trees, and wondered if this she-wolf might have been part of the group from Blacktail Deer Plateau.

A soft chuff announced her arrival, and she maintained some distance between them as she called out: "You doing okay?"

A soft chuff startles her from her racing thoughts, and she glances up with wide eyes, sucking in a breath at the sight of the beautiful woman. She averts her gaze quickly, discomfort increasing tenfold; now is possibly the worst time to meet a pretty woman. The fiery-furred stranger's apparent concern only intensifies her embarrassment. Not really, The quiet words slip from her a little bitterly before she can stop them, though her tone is not unfriendly; she's simply upset. She swallows, ears pinning back as her gaze finds the vomit again, and falls silent. No doubt she isn't the best for conversation now — not least because she isn't willing to try.

Ruenna was also drawn toward the sounds of distress. Had the sick wolf been one of the unknown Creek wolves, she might have stuck to the shadows like usual-- or perhaps she would have slipped away to find someone else to help. But it was Myrren... it was one of her family.

"Myrren," Rue emitted her name along with a low, worried whine. Another wolf arrived too, presumably to assist. It was the graceful agouti, the one Rue had seen from afar but had yet to meet. To be fair, she had yet to meet nearly everyone but Soltero.

"Did you.. was it something you ate?" Rue inquired, voice laced with concern. Her eyes, filled with apprehehnsion, flitted once more toward the agouti woman.

She exhaled a breathy whine, one of gentle concern as the dark wolfess admitted that she was not at her best. Durnehviir had hoped for her to elaborate so that she might be able to offer some guidance, but she reminded herself of her place. The dragoness was not only no longer Constantine's mate, but Swiftcurrent's leader.

Her ginger ears fell back. Champagne eyes drifted sadly downward, then followed the sound of another unfamiliar voice. She observed the other female's approach and stepped aside, suddenly keen to clear off now that someone who apparently knew the raven girl had arrived to take charge.

Durnehviir twitched a whisker, then turned away to leave them in peace and desperately seek some of her own.
